Chapter Twenty

344 Words
BARRY'S POV I left the house and drove down to the restaurant to meet up with Jenny. I pulled into the driveway and searched around as I got down from the car. She was already waiting by the door for me, "Hey you, I thought you'd forgotten about our date". I smiled, "how could I? Quite the opposite actually. You've been on my mind all day". Her smile made me happy, I told her she had a smile of a mermaid. Not like I knew what they looked like but she looked like what I'd imagine one to look like. We went inside and sat down to eat. "What would you like to eat?" I asked, trying my best to be a gentleman. We talked a lot about different things, our likes and dislikes and all. We laughed and drank, I didn't even keep track of time. "Oh crap" I gasped as I looked at my watch. "What's wrong" She asked as she sat up. "I lost track of time. I guess I was so intrigued by you, I didn't know it was this late". She smiled and held my hand, "That's fine, we can do this another time. I know I'd love to". That was all I needed to hear, "I'd love that, a lot. My little sister is the only one at home and she was asleep when I left the house" I explained as she walked me to my car. "Okay, I understand " She gave me a kiss on my cheek. I smiled and dragged her close to give her a hug. I got into the car and drove off. I got in and saw Carrie in the kitchen cooking. "What are you cooking, that smells delicious" I stretched my hand to get a taste of what she was cooking and she tapped my hand slightly. I knew that was coming, it wasn't allowed in our house to touch food without washing our hands first. "Fine Fine, I'll wash my hands" She smiled and I went to wash my hands.
