Chapter Twenty-One

The next morning I got up very early and went downstairs to watch Tv and do a couple of chores. I got downstairs and saw my Mom in the kitchen making herself a cup of coffee. "Hey baby, want a cup?" She asked as I hugged her. "Yes please." "you're up early today, aren't you supposed to use your off days to rest?" I said as I collected the cup of coffee from her. "Thank you"

“We'll eat breakfast when Carrie wakes up, then we'll play our game,” She said as we walked to the living room. “Okay no problem”.

We watched a couple of movies together and talked about the previous night. "How did your date go?" She asked as we finished the last movie. She always wanted to be involved in her kids’ lives, not many parents want to do that. It made me and Carrie appreciate her more. “It was really good, I had a good time” I answered with a smile. “How is she? Her character and all? Does Carrie know about her” I laughed as she loaded me with the questions. “She has a very beautiful character Mom, she's sweet and lovely. We talked about a lot of things. I can't stay to introduce you guys, she's eager to meet you both too”, She smiled and played the next movie. “And? How about Carrie?” She asked again. I forgot she asked that “I told Carrie about her. She knows about Carrie too. I try to be as open as I can with her”. She nodded positively, “That's good, and that is what is necessary. I'm proud of the man you have become.”, “never change”. We were about to talk about Uncle Perry and everything going on with the family when we heard Carrie’s door open. She came downstairs and greeted us cheerfully, “Hey guys, how are my beautiful people doing?” She sat down and sighed. “You're in a very good mood today, are you good?” I asked as I smiled at her. “Why won't I be? It's a beautiful day and I get to spend that beautiful day with you guys”. I stared at her for a while, she laughed and I titled my head. “Uh-huh, well okay then”
