Ryan waited with Joanna for what seemed like a lifetime. For once she was calm and compliant, although she kept throwing distrustful looks over towards the Sundered she had killed, almost like she was checking that he wasn’t healing and about to come back to life and try to attack her. He had to admit he was keeping an eye on him as well. The Sundered had a nasty habit of not being dead when they should. Still, he was certain this one actually was dead, even if he didn’t know how he’d come to that belief.
