We Got You

After they parted from their everlasting hug, Veronica let out a loud sigh before looking at her parents. " I'm supposed to give birth before the next year comes to an end-" she paused scanning her parents face for any reaction but to her surprise, they stared at her blasé.

Veronica was surprised seeing their reaction. Weren't they supposed to look surprised? She asked herself. She stared at them with one raised brow and asked "why ain't you surprised?" she asked.

Her mother took her hands in hers and sat her down on the couch.

Veronica was lost. What was going on? They already knew? Vero sat there patiently waiting for her mother to tell her something.

"We know its not easy for such thing at your age. Remember I told you I also went through the same situation when I was eighteen?" her mother paused for her to process what she was saying and Vero seemed to process it quite well but Vero answered "yeah, I know mom but mine can be successful only through IUI" " I know, I know. Nothing is too hard in this world. We've got you. Your dad and I are here through this all. Okay? So relax and always pray" her mum assured her.

Veronica was found speechless. Oh how she loved her parents so much. She had no idea they were going to support her in this situation. She thought they were going to feel sorry for her and sympathize with her but to her surprise, they were in this together with her.

Who would thought her parents were going to react to the news like this.

"So have confidence and let's go through this together." Her mom continued. " be strong... remember? Howards never give up and look all weary. Remember that".

Veronica broke down in quiet tears not because she felt sorry for herself but because she was thankful to God that she had so much loving parents who would ride and die with her. She was very grateful.

Her dad hugged her and whispered into her ears " be strong". Veronica nodded and whispered thank you.

After what seemed like minutes of silence between the family, Veronica calmed down and stood before her parents and said with head held high " we're going to do this by hook or crook" her mum smiled and said " that's the spirit baby girl" his dad just smiled at her daughter proudly.
