Super-Duper Mom

"Mom, where is my father?" Dyia asked.

Veronica, who was busy on her phone was taken aback by the sudden question from her son. Vero just blinked a couple of times before she gestured for her son to come over to the couch where she was seated. Young Dyia walked briskly over to her and sat beside her.

Vero took his son's hands into hers and asked, "Why do you ask, baby?" Vero hoped her son wasn't being bullied at school because he didn't have father. If her son was to say that was the reason why he was asking, she was going to burn that damned school down. But she hoped she was wrong.

"Our tutor asked us to talk about our daddies. When it was my turn, I just told them my mummy was also my daddy and they all laughed. And Miss Patty told me there's no situation where a mom can also be a dad,"Dyia said innocently.

Veronica didn't know what to say at that moment. She just hugged her son gently with a tinge of sadness. How was she going to explain the actual situation to her son. How he was born fatherless. Even an adult wouldn't understand, let alone a seven-year-old boy. Would she even be able to tell her son the actual truth even when he's an adult? Veronica was battling with a whole lot of thoughts in her head. She let out a heavy sigh and looked at her son with seriousness showing in her eyes.

"Tell everyone and Miss Patty that, you have a super-duper mum who is more than mom to you and her efforts are more than a father, and that's enough for you. Tell tell them you don't have a father and that your mum is more than enough for you," Vero said with a whole lot of seriousness in her tone.

Little Dyia nodded at his mother's response innocently. Vero let out a sigh of relief when her son didn't question her about his father's whereabouts any further. How she wished she could but she can't since he's too young to understand all these things. She always prayed that the heavens would be by her side when she finally breaks the information about how he was born into this world to her son.

How was he going to take it? How would he react? Will be hate her for ever?
