The day to leave was finally here. Our weekend getaway trip was over. My heart felt heavy. The feeling was worse than when we left the first trip.
"Shall we go?" Mason asked and I jolted out of my reverie. I glanced up at him, he was all packed up and ready to go. I nodded glancing at the room one more time, trying to engrave it in my memory. I felt like bursting into tears. I had only been here for two days but I already felt heartbroken and didn't want to leave. This house felt like a haven that I didn't want to leave yet. I wanted to stay cocooned here with him forever and hidden from the rest of the world. Mason carried out our suitcases and we headed into the main house.
