The Escape

Lord Evingston Lord Evingston saw Lord Hunter with Lyla, making a run for it. He handed her off to two of his guards to take her home. He overheard that there was an argument. She wanted to fight. He wanted her safe. He pleaded with him and she relented and left with the two guards. He sent two more to watch them to make sure they were safe. Lord Evingston used this opportunity to creep up and slit Lord Hunter's throat and do away with him once and for all. As he approached, he pulled his sword out, began to slip around, but before he got to the skin of his throat, he knocked the blade out of the way and turned around. "You bastard!" hollered Lord Hunter as the two men began to expertly parry. Their swords clinking and with each move that one would make, the other would counter it. "I'm a bastard!? You took Lyla. You know, she was finally coming around to me," he said with a sly smile as he continued to fight. "You're a liar. She would never fall for you. We are in love! You are jealous!" Lord Hunter shouted out with determination. They continued to fight until another soldier who was in a fight was thrown into Lord Evingston and he dropped his sword clumsily. As he went to pick it up, he felt the cold steel of a blade at his neck. "You are under arrest. Don't touch that sword or I will slit your neck and then chop off your head," declared Lord Hunter. Lord Evingston raised his hands in surrender. "You two, take this man back and throw him in the dungeon!" he shouted to two guards, nearby, that each finished a fight against an enemy vampire. One held him while the other staked him and he collapsed to the ground and died. The enemy was in few number now and had no place to run to. Alpha Bryer's werewolves and Lord Hunter's vampires filled their encampment. Many of the enemy vampires just ran into the woods to try to escape, but they were chased and killed, so that they would not make war with Lord Hunter or Alpha Bryer again. The two guards came over and took Lord Evinston, tied his arms behind his back, one grabbed his arm, the other pointed a sword at him, as they took him away. He struggled mightily as the soldier dug his fingers into his arm, holding him tight. "Knock it off or we knock you out and drag you to the dungeon!" said the soldier on the other side of him. Then, Lord Evingston kneed the soldier with the gun in the balls and ducked when he fired toward his head. The soldier dropped his gun and doubled over, out of breath, in pain. He then bucked his head into the head of the other one, knocking him clean out. Surprised that he got away with it, but glad he did, he ran. Bullets were firing around him as the other soldier regained his composure and began firing. But, hitting a moving target is difficult and Lord Evingston had already put some distance between him and the soldier. Soon, the bullets stopped. The soldier either gave up or was now running after him, or he simply ran out of bullets. Either way, Lord Evingston did not stop running. He kept up his pace, fleeing as fast as he possibly could. His thighs pumped acid. His calves screamed. A pain in his side erupted and was so excruciating, it felt as though he was pierced with a tremendous spear. But, he did not let the pain lessen his pace. He had to get away. Live to fight another day. When his body gave out, he crashed to the ground. His body physically could not run anymore. He couldn't even stand. He laid on the ground breathing heavily and laughing. He got away. He can't believe it, but he got away! Once he was able to get away, he went to town. He bought a storage facility for sale by a flash sale. He then rented a house. It was in disrepair, but it was big with several rooms. That was what he needed. They killed all his recruits that came from Lord Hunter's Coven. He had no option, but to make more. This is frowned upon by the vampire community since it risks exposure. And, exposure puts every single vampire at risk. In fact, it's not just frowned upon, it is a strict law. But, that didn't matter to him. He was determined. He needed new members so he could reform his own coven. Then, he would kidnap Lyla and kill Alpha Bryer and Lord Hunter. With Lord Hunter out of the way, he could return to his old coven and take power. He now had a house to house his new recruits. New vampires tend to be a bit wild during full moons. To prevent them from biting people and killing them, or worse, make their own recruits, he would lock them up in the back storage spaces just during full moons once a month. Then, he could use the front storage spaces to generate income. He already had some income from a popular restaurant he owned in the city, but he needed more to fund a whole new coven. Now that he was forming a new coven, he needed a name. He decided on the Blue Moon Coven because vampires are powerful on full moons, but they were ridiculously empowered by the Blue Moon. They are not common, but they happen. The second or third full moon in a month is a Blue Moon. He would start out in the city and blend with the humans. He would have to change his apparel to modern day clothes to help him blend in. He would remain in the land of humans with his coven until it was fully formed. Once he has enough converted and following him and once he had enough money, he would return to the woods. Return to his old coven and take over.
