I woke up to a badgering in my head it was Lucas' mind linking me

‘Darcy! Where the hell are you! He panicked.

‘Lucas calm down I’m ok I just fell asleep at Riven’s’ I told him

‘ what do you mean at Riven’s?’ Lucas questioning me

‘look I’m on my way home I’ll fill you in when I see you ok,’ I said

‘ok I’m sorry,’ he said

He didn’t need to be, I’m fine. I called out for Riven but no answer, he must be out.

I had to meet up with Lucas. I’ll try to find Riven and tell him I'm leaving, I couldn’t help but wonder that our little moment before meant more, could he want to be my mate now? But how can I trust him with my heart? he broke it the second I met him. I moved though the hallway and I saw two wolves burst from a door, it looks like they couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

I heard Alpha Kane “and how is your progress going with Darcy, have you fixed it like I ordered you too?” I heard Alpha Kane say

‘fixed like I ordered’? So, that’s what Riven is doing acting on Alpha's orders! I knew they frowned upon it to defy the goddess.

“I’m working on it, but I think I’m getting closer to her” I heard Riven say

Oh stupid Darcy I can’t believe I allowed myself to consider he would want me on his own free will!

I have to get out of here! I walked down the hall, I bumped into a beautiful she-wolf with big brown eyes, Dark hair and her smile was cheerful and kind. I recognised her she was the Alpha’s sister Emily.

“Hey can I help you look lost” she spoke to me in a pleasant voice”

“oh, thank you! I am trying to find my way out of here” I answered.

Emily smiled “sure! I’ll show you, follow me” she responded while pointing to the direction she was leading us too .

“I haven’t seen you before, I guess you're a friend of Riven’s he’s never great at showing his friends out” she said

ouch! How many has she had to guide out I couldn’t help but feel the burn of jealousy. what she spoke next sent me cold

“your not Riven’s usual type, one you look sweet and kind, most wolves he brings here are supermodel types that lack intelligence and manners” she giggled

I don’t think she understood how back handed that compliment was, I smiled at her as we reached the door “thank you!” I spoke

“my name is Emily Lena by the way it was a pleasure to meet you” she said smiling

“my name is Darcy Sinnix it was nice meeting you too” I said.

As I turned away I caught a glimpse of Emily’s face change I’m guessing she figured out who I was I could have sworn she whispered “on no!” under her breath.

I got home, and I saw Lucas sitting at the front of our house “hey!” He said running towards me and just hugged me

“hey yourself” I replied “so where did he take you?Lucas asked I drew a deep breath and told him everything from the make-out session to the alphas orders to what Emily said.

he shook his head “are you ok?” He asked “I need to blow of steam, can you smell that storm coming” I asked.

it was becoming late the sun was about to set. I could smell the rain and felt the electricity in the air, This is exactly what I needed to thank you goddess!

“yes! want to let our wolves out and run?” Lucas suggested that sounded perfect!

“Let’s do it!” I declared

we walked to the border of the woods, and we removed our clothes, Lucas and I have been getting naked in presence of each other since we were kids, so we were never shy about it, by the time I removed my underwear I looked up I was no longer looking at Lucas, there was onyx.

He was beautiful! Black as night and still eye as green as Lucas has.

Onyx started half pouncing, to get me to hurry up! He loved Sinnix. “Ok ok!” I said and laughed he was much more dominant than Lucas and I love it! I let Sinnix take over she pushed her head under Onyx’s face she has missed him! it made me feel guilty that I haven’t let her have her moment lately.

The rain started to fall and Onyx and Sinnix ran through the woods play fighting, hunting they come across and beautiful river than run off from a medium flow waterfall, it was stunning! I wanted to swim, Lucas must have had the same thought because both Sinnix and onyx ran to the top of the waterfall. Onyx dived in, but Lucas emerged “woohoooo” I heard him shout ‘ok Little wolf your turn”

‘thank you for the run I needed it,’ Sinnix said

As she jumped off the cliff landing into the water, I shifted to me and I rose out of the water I see Lucas smiling “this is wonderful!” He declared “woohoooo” I copied Lucas, and I splashed him it was water fight time!

We swam to waist deep and felt calm, clear and happy I need this.

“Lucas sometimes I wish we were mates it would be wonderful” I spoke

“I feel the same! I was waiting for that day you turned 18, I was excited to meet you to see if that moment would happen when it didn’t I was upset” he told

“me too”

“you don’t have to be tied to him anymore remember,” Lucas said his face all serious

“I know when I see him next I will accept his rejection, I wonder if I’ll ever get another chance though,”

“you don’t have to look at him you can accept his rejection no matter where you are, only the goddess needs to hear it,”

“I didn’t realise that! I thought I must declare it in presence of your mate?” I responded.

Lucas shook his head.

I’m going to do this right here right now, I stood straight lifted my arms in the air for dramatic effect and shouted”I Darcy Sinnix hear by accept Riv” I opened my eye and I heard a deep growl Standing in front of me was dark golden eyes, messy auburn hair. Riven! he was furious.

He gripped me by the waist pushing my breasts against his chest, he took the side of my head pulling my head to expose my neck, and he bit down marking me.

It happened so quickly! I couldn’t help but melt at the feeling on his lips on my skin, I winced at the pain from his fangs he pulled away and my mind cleared what has he done! He marked me without my consent. How f*****g dare he! The growls and the water splashing broke me out of my daze of anger as I saw Onyx in presence of me where Lucas should have been and Riven standing his ground.

I went in front of onyx “Onyx, you can not attack the beta!!!” I screamed at him “bring back Lucas now!” I demanded

Onyx looked at me, he knew I was correct, attacking the Beta they would banish him from the pack, making him a rogue I’m not worth it. Lucas formed to me, he was furious and upset! “Lucas look at me, run home” I stressed

“no” he spoke angry

“you have to! I’m marked now there is nothing you can do. It’s done.” I said

Anger changed to sadness as he realised I was correct, he stared at me.

‘I’m sorry Little wolf’ he spoke though mind link and tears rolled down his cheeks

‘Lucas listen to me, you need to run home please! for me, I wish you where my mate like the good Jacob black said it would be as easy as breathing’ he laughed at my Twihard ways.

‘but I will always belong to Riven now it’s done! just go! thank you for one of the best nights of my life’ then he kissed me softly on the lips ignoring the fury behind me.

Lucas then shifted to onyx and ran.
