Lucas let our training start later so we can start mission social today Rosie a good family friend of ours own a popular coffee shop so we thought we could make our plan debut there. Turns we couldn’t have picked a better location, I can’t believe that have not once seen the beta before, yet the very next day he is one of the first wolves I see! the goddess will not let this go. I walked into the Dark Brew coffee shop, his scent hit me like a slap in the face my heart ached, but his scent was off! jealousy flared in me Sinnix was furious! I had to control every bit of energy just to keep her in, I could smell another she-wolf on him that asshole slept with another wolf last night argh I hate him! I wanted to face him and to accept his rejection or rip his face off and be free of him but no, I can’t make it that easy on him right now. If I was honest with myself Lucas’s plan wasn’t sounding so bad, but things were complex enough, so I pulled myself together I asked him to move and ordered Lucas and my coffee whilst hearing Rose questioning my fashion choices. I loved talking to Rose she and my mum are great friends she helped my mum heal after losing Lucas’s mother. I wanted to fill her in and tell her everything, but I needed to get out of here, smelling another she-wolf on my mate was making it hard to breathe! Also hearing the other pact members staring at us wanting to add to the already hot pack gossip added to my anger!.

I pushed past Riven to sit outside with Lucas while I wait for our lattes. Lucas was sitting down again shaking his head at me but his teasing attitude turned when I relayed to him what just happened, he was just as furious about the other wolf as sinnix, and I were. Lucas looks past me and his expression changed I'm soon starting to learn Lucas was forming a Riven face, I couldn’t help but laugh his protectiveness of me was both a blessing and a curse. “May I ask what you find funny Darcy Sinnix?” Riven asked standing by our table matching the sarcastic formality that I had addressed him earlier smart ass! “Well Beta I was just observing the adorable face of Lucas here” cheap shot, but honest, Lucas shot me a side smile Riven face flashed with anger, but he composed him self “Darcy can we talk alone please?” riven asked

He had to be joking! Probably trying to plead with me to accept.

“No!” I said, “don’t you have a w***e to go back to beta?” Lucas interjected realisation hit Riven face along with shame? “Watch your tone with me Lucas Onyx you forget you place remember I am your beta!” Lucas shrugged f*****g wolves so damn territorial but Riven was right! we lack to recognise his rank I know joining the pact warriors is important to Lucas and Riven will be his direct commander I need to have Lucas step back as Lucas was no doubt going to shot some smart ass remark I interjected

“Sorry Beta, what Lucas was trying to say that you seem to have someone waiting for you and Lucas and I have a big week ahead, so I have no free time currently nor in the foreseeable future”. I stated he locked his amber-colored eyes on me a stared at me. Rose had come out to put our lattes in front of Lucas and reverted my eyes to Rose and thanked her but when I searched for Rivens eyes all I saw was him walking away.

“Still can’t believe you wore pj’s in public” Lucas laughed “well why bother with social standards of fashion I can’t be anymore humiliated than I was last night so f**k it, and I‘m comfortable!” I stated, Lucas just shook his head then his face went serious “I have to tell you something the Alpha ask to speak with me, I suspect he is going to ask when I will join the pact warriors” Lucas frowned. since that night he never left my side he has sworn to protect me, but its tradition for pact warriors start their duties when they become 18, Lucas is now 22 just as I am, and I think somehow our Alpha knew he wasn’t ready.

“Lucas it’s time you are remarkable and a skilled fighter you deserved that honor” I assured him “but I can’t leave you!” He panicked! “Lucas since that night you have taught me how to fight plus I’m not a 16-year-old wolf any more, I can defend myself now you need to be free Jedi knight” Lucas face got serious I thought the Star Wars reference would at least have made him laugh

“Speaking of training, are we training tonight?” I ask him are you going to wear those ugly pjs?” He asks what wrong with these?. And no way I’ll get hot I was thinking a bikini?” Lucas raised an eyebrow “what?” I declared he just shook his head and downed the rest of his latte.
