Desperation’s (Riven)

It’s been 3 weeks and still no sign of Darcy, Sinnix and Jace have been strengthening their bond and the happier Jace became the more depressed I came.

I was getting desperate, I was scared that I had lost her! I went to Lucas he knew her the most, he was my best bet, and I’m certain he missed her too.

I knocked on Darcy’s house Lucas answered “Beta” he said

“Look, you and I started on the wrong foot, so let’s have a whiskey,”

“Why?!”

“Because Lucas, I’m sure your missing Darcy as much as I am right now, and you are the closest thing to her, so I need to figure a way of getting her back, and you're my best shot, and I am yours,”

Lucas contemplated he shrugged “fine”.

We go to The Howl, the pack bar. we seated at the bar and I bought 2 single malt whiskey’s.

“I know marking her without her permission would have ramifications, but this?”

He slammed back his whiskey, ordered another told the bar staff I’m paying, fair enough if it gets him talking

“what did you expect to happen? The one thing I don’t understand Riven is why? You rejected her you didn’t want her! so why did you f*****g do it?”

“Because she was my mate, and I love her! she was about to sever our bond, I had to act fast,”

“Love her? Right! and hey Darcy don’t do that didn’t come to mind,”

“When you have a mate in front of you Lucas, I will be interested to learn how rational you will be,” I finished my drink and hailed for 2 more.

“Cut the bullshit Riven! Darcy told me she heard you and the Alpha talking you were ordered to be her mate”

“See that’s where both you and Darcy were wrong! I was ordered to fix the damaged relationship as a Beta I need to respect pack members, as they have to respect me, but I wasn’t charged to become her mate so get off your high horse,”

Lucas face become thoughtful he slammed down the 2nd drink, in time for the drinks I requested two more hit the table. “Then why become her mate then? If you were repulsed by her, you should have let her go” Lucas asked

“I’m not an i***t Lucas I realize your in love with her, so it shouldn’t become as a surprise when I got to know her I have fallen in love with her too.”

He didn’t deny it Jace was becoming heated. Now he and Sinnix are bonded so.

“So how do we get her back, Lucas?”

“She has to come back on her own terms, last time this took place, she came back when she learnt of my parents death to be there for me,”

“Wait, this has taken place before?” I demanded in surprise

Before he answered I heard “Riven, Lucas having a party without me I’m so offended?”

“Alpha” Lucas stood with his head bowed “relax Lucas Jacob another round please” Kane commands and sits alongside of Lucas

“So figured out a way to get miss Darcy back yet?” Kane asked

“No Jace says Sinnix barely hears from her now,I was thinking we might have to get her to shift on your orders Kane,” I thought

“No stop forcing her,” Lucas barked

“any other ideas Lucas she is out there we have Rogues outside our territory,”

‘STOP’ Kane mind linked me

“Rogues what to you mean, Rogues?” Lucas demanded and stood up

Kane's face dropped he hadn’t planned on telling Lucas yet.

“Alpha, please tell me they are not the same ones?”

“Lucas, I fear it may be the same one and our sources say that he may be building an army to attack the pack,” Kane said

“Sinnix is out there in the woods alone!” Lucas argued Fury and tears filled Lucas eyes I was missing something.

“Hold up what is going on?” I demanded

“We don’t have time we need to get Darcy back, but we have to coax her out not force her out,” Lucas commanded.

Lucas started to storm out of the bar when he halted and stared behind Kane “Hey Bro” Emily approached us, but she too then paused and stared straight at Lucas,I know this look! Lucas and Emily were mates.

Emily moved to Lucas he just stayed there in shock

“Hi” she says “I have been waiting for you for a long time” she raised her hand and touches the side of his face. he grabs her hand gently and kisses the back of her hand

“and I you! my name is Lucas Onyx and what’s your name?” He asked

“nice to finally meet you Lucas Onyx, My name is Emily Lena” said smiling her face was filled with Joy whilst Lucas was looking torn.

“Emily I know this is a massive deal meeting each other, but I have a really important matter to get to I’m so sorry, can you please forgive me” his face turned to pain.

Emily was beautiful inside and out, Lucas was one lucky wolf to have her as a mate. she responded with her usual kindness “of course I already have!” she moved to her tippy-toes and kissed him on the cheek.

“thank you!” Lucas said before turning and running out the bar,I followed him as I approached the door I saw him. He shifted tearing his clothes and ran towards the woods.
