Saving myself

I quickly took off my shoes and as Logan and Ryan quickly moved I launched them towards Rylands head, my heart went from hurting to full rage in a mater of seconds. The first shoe mad contact with the side of Rylands face who flinched slightly but I knew it didn’t hurt, he dodged the second which only made me more annoyed. “You want to talk? Fine, everyone can stay keep up if you can.” I snapped storming towards the woods I shifted glancing back at him before slinking into the trees, he bounced on his heels before shifting slowly following after me, we walked a few minutes his wolf letting out soft slow drawn out whines, Zora kept her ears pinned back practically ignoring him. Once she thought we were far enough she turned back towards him, he was quick to lower to the ground automatically submitting to her, we circled him a few times letting out growls and nasty sounds snapping at him a couple of times, over the time he rolled onto his back even giving her his belly and neck. I groaned in frustration shifting back rubbing my face in my hands, I knew it would take off my make up but frankly I couldn’t care. The crunchy leafs under my feet were cold and nice against my skin, ryland shifted back because he was now only standing a few inches apart from me, his hand touched my arms making my eyes snap back open “NO.” I snapped taking a step back “you don’t get to touch me right now, not in the future and if you try again I’ll break each finger slowly.” I added glaring at him, my gaze stayed on me “you weren’t even supposed to be here yet Molly I didn’t invite you.” He said quietly making me laugh “you f*****g texted me you stupid asshat, I’m only here for you, I wore a dress..for you, I was excited to see you.” I screamed shoving him in the chest, he took a half step back even though I knew I it was an act for him. “I never texted you-“ he started making me pull out my phone, “no? Because it sure looks like your number to me Ryland.” He let out a groan “she must have gone through my phone and texted you when I was sleeping” he muttered making me reply with a hallow laugh “you weren’t supposed to be here, I needed more time to reject her.I never claimed her we’ve just been together for 3 years now ” He finally snapped making my eyes water again “that sure didn’t look like a rejection to me, but if it’s a rejection your looking for fine.” I replied in a cold quiet tone “I Molly Hyland, reject you Ryland Graymond.” His hand shot out covering my mouth preventing me from saying the final part, and stopped me from severing our connection, my eyes lifted to his where tears were forming, and a sliver of me felt bad “please…please don’t I can’t live without you Molly.” He whispered softly, his voice cracking between the words, my shoulders relaxed under his touch before I finally gently pushed his hand away “you did this…not me.” I whispered back “have a good life alpha Ryland, I truly hope our paths don’t cross again.” I said calmly placing a hand on his chest before I walked back into the trees, even if I couldn’t formally reject him I could still feel my heart breaking with each step, I finally stepped back into the clearing looking at the same 4 people we left behind, they seemed to look at me with pity and pain in the eyes. I straightened out walking to Ryan and Richard giving them each a quick hug goodbye “make sure to take care of him for me.” I asked making them each nod “will we see you again?” Ryan asked making me shake my head “I sure hope not.” I teasingly said with a small breath before looking at Tif and Logan with a nod, tifani put her arm around my waist and Logan did the same over my shoulder as we walked back towards the car. I sat in the back this time feeling exhaustion quickly rush over my body. I closed my eyes feeling the car start to move, after a few seconds my eyes open hearing pounding footsteps run beside us, my head rests on the window as I stare at the light brown colored wolf running beside us. My eyes quickly fill with tears again, as I watched him go step for step until we reached his boarder, I looked back watching him stop, a deep howl filling the Silent night air, and in my head Zora let out a howl in response. A sad call for the two lovers who never had a chance.

I slept most of the drive home only waking up to stretch my legs, I didn’t feel like driving and luckily my friends seemed to understand that, I’m sure Logan filled my parents in because after a quick welcome home they let me become a shut in, staying in my room for a week straight, I didn’t eat, shower, or take care of myself in any way. Halfway in the second week when my door slammed open “that’s it.” Tifani snapped making me open my eyes as she yanked the blankets off of me “hey!” I snapped sitting up “enough of this, you look awful you smell like whatever we ate left over in the fridge a week ago and I’m tired of being alone at work so get up.” She snapped back her face inches from mine “I need time Tif, it must be nice having a mate but incase you forgot mine is off f*****g someone else by now.” I snapped back making her smile “is that what you think of him? Because he’s been requesting daily to come back into our lands and Logan isn’t saying yes until you say so, so if you’re going to reject him do it otherwise go and talk to him.” She replied coldly “you’re a warrior for f***s sake, I’ve never seen you so pathetic.” She added storming back out of my room, I slowly got up looking at my own reflection and she was right, I looked awful and this wasn’t me. I didn’t have any more tears to cry and I was tired of being angry, I showered, brushed my teeth, got changed, and over the next few hours I was back at the training grounds. I smiled looking at Tif who looked back at me with a smile and nod, I was lucky to have a friend who wasn’t afraid to snap me back to reality. After a few more weeks I felt like myself again, my weight was balanced back out and I even got a few tattoos, a total of 8 actually. I got one as a joke and was hooked on the others, a month went by in total I also added a piercing to my nose and I looked hotter now then before if I did say so myself, Ryland never stopped asking daily to come onto our territory, and unless he wanted a war he wouldn’t come without permission. I was going for a late night run when I found myself at Logan and Jason’s office, I knew they would still be working and was grateful when they invited me inside when I knocked. I sat on the couch with a deep breath “I’m ready to see him.” I finally said breaking the silence “Molly…are you sure?” Logan asked looking concerned making me nod “I thought it over and I’m ready.” I replied making him nod. “I’ll let him know he can come tomorrow then.” Logan’s dad spoke making me smile I nodded giving Logan a quick hug and bowing my head to his dad before leaving for the night.

The next day I was up early training with my dad, on top of my normal training with the pups I’ve been working out with my dad to gain more muscle and get my body back into shape quicker, he was a good workout partner, never pushed me harder then I wanted to be pushed. “You sure you’re ready for this?” He asked running along side me around the track, I glanced over my cheeks were pink from running for the past 30 minutes “I’m positive, I’ll be fine, I have you guys and Zora, I don’t need a self conscious gray cloud hanging over my head.” I replied making him smile “that’s my girl.” He said back, after the work out Logan mind linked me letting me know Ryland was about 2 hours out. That gave me plenty of time to shower and get dressed into black leggings with a tank top, I looked good but it wasn’t a dress to impress moment for me. I look one last look in the mirror “Zora are you ready?” I asked quietly watching as my eyes changed to red “let’s do this.” She replied before letting me have control again. I walked downstairs and out the front door. Time to go see my mate
