The ride back to his pad was quiet as Hyerin fell asleep all the way, Kai smiles knowing how tired she was. As they reach his pad Kai didn’t wake her but carries her up to his pad.

After he sets her quietly under his covers, he went back down to fetch all of the things in the car before he could follow her to dreamland.

“Yes Sehun?” he picks up the latter’s call when he came out of the shower, a small towel drying his damp hair. He took a peak on his bed and saw how sound asleep Hyerin was, that it made him giddy and fuzzy inside.

“I’m just asking how it went, did she enjoy your date? Tell me it was worth sacrificing my tickets and making my girlfriend sulky” he said and Kai can hear a clear sigh leaving the latter’s lips.

“Yeah, it’s worth it. Thanks, dude” he smiles as he remembers how happy she was the entire day except when she entered the haunted house.

“It better be. Have you confessed yet i***t?” A female voice asks from behind and Kai laugh silently as he knew who it belonged to. Only 2 people call me that, Hyerin and you...

“Hey, Jiyeon, sorry about your date being canceled,” Kai replies sincerely as he felt sorry for he had asked Sehun the tickets so he could go with Hyerin instead.

“It’s ok, as long as you and Hyerin end up together. I’m expecting good news from you, mister! If not I’ll chock you and embarrass you in front of her till you confess. It's frustrating to see you've hidden this from her...” she nags and Kai laughs out loud making the female stop.

“Dude, how can you put up with my cousins’ nagging?” he teases as he tries to hold in his laugh.

“What…. Yah!! How could you?!” Jiyeon sulks as Kai knew his cousin best just by listening to her voice.

“I just do… I like it whenever she nags; that’s the only way I know that she still cares and loves me” Sehun quotes as Jiyeon blush at his sweet words, Kai could see it even though they were not there.

Kai rolls his eyes at his cheesiness and swore that he’d be cheesier with Hyerin in front of them one day, to let Sehun taste his kind of teasing back, thinking about it made him smile to himself.

“Kai?” a drowsy voice calls him suddenly and he turns around to see Hyerin rubbing her eyes cutely at him.

Her hair was all over as her bun came undone but she still looks cute, the front part of her shirt that was tucked in had been pulled out, making her oversized shirt cover her shorts completely.

“Oh! You’re up, wait a sec. Hun-ah, we’ll talk later” he hung up on Sehun and made his way to the drowsy Hyerin. She looks up at him with cute sleepy eyes.

“When did you wake up?” he hugs her by the waist and she snugs into his chest.

“Just a while ago, it felt empty without you” she blurted out loud her thoughts without thinking straight and that caught Kai’s attention.

“It felt empty without me?” he raise a brow and she panicked, realizing what she just said.

“I mean, where were you?” she avoids his eye contact as she pulls away from him, putting distance between their bodies, but not fully as Kai still had his hands on her.

Kai grew curious, this wasn’t the first time she had accidentally blurted out these things.

The last time she said "I’d do anything to be with you" but cover it up by saying "I’d always be friends with you".

“Don’t avoid the subject” he stated and made sure his hold on her was firm. He could feel her body tense up by his sudden touch.

“I’m not”

“Then why are you avoiding my eyes”

“I’m not”

“Look at me then”

“I am”

“In the eyes”

“Hummmm” she faces him properly but her eyes still didn’t meet his completely.

“Choi Hyerin” he calls out firmly and back her up against the wall, trapping her. She was surprised by his action once again as her heartbeat increased.

“Choi Hyerin” he calls again with a changed tone of voice. She finds it hard to breathe as she felt scared by it.

“Look at me now,” He says softly after a while of silence.

“Look at my eyes” he continues as he leans in closer, taking in her faint perfumed lavender scent.

“Wae (Why?)?” her voice trembles as she feels his hot breath near her.

“Look at me in the eyes” he repeats, you know I hate repeating myself Hye, yet here you are making me.

She turns so that their eyes would meet but regretted a bit because their faces were so close that if she leans in a little more, their lips would touch.

“I have something important to tell you” it’s now or never then… he thought as he felt the need to confess rushing in his system.

“I’m saying this once, so make sure to record and remember this in your pretty little head”

“Neh (Eh)? Ok” she was lost in his eyes, as she was once before.

“I. Love. You,” he says one by one and Hyerin was sure that her heart would leap out anytime.

“You what?” she finally ask him after a few moments of processing what he said, but she wasn’t sure whether to believe it or not.

“I’m not repeating myself because I know that you heard me clearly and I hate repeating myself”

“Why? Why do you love me?” she wants to know, she wasn’t too sure of her own, there are times when she felt different towards him, not the feelings of a friend, but a girls’ feeling towards a boy.

“I love you for you. I love you because you’re you” he tells her sincerely, eyes not leaving hers.

“I… I… I….” she didn’t know what to say.

“I want to know what you feel, don’t leave me hanging” he might look strong and firm on the outside at the moment, but in the inside, he’s dying to know.

Somehow he feels like rejection was coming as she kept quiet but truly she's lost in the swarming mess inside of her head and heart.

“How would I know you’re not lying?” she feels her cheeks heat up and heartbeat increase at the stupid question. Right now she's worried Kai would hear her heart rather than confessing to him about her hidden feelings.

“Do I need to prove it to you?” he looks at her, she knows he doesn’t like being challenged, but why does it sound like she challenging him?

“I…” her words were cut when she feels his lips on hers.

His lips didn’t move and his eyes were open as he looks at her reaction. But she stayed still and didn’t push him away. Slowly his eyes closed and he moves his lips softly and slowly against hers as if he didn’t want to hurt her by a small kiss. She didn’t respond at first but later did when Kai presses his lips hard on hers.

“Now do you believe me?” they both panted from the kiss, just an innocent kiss but a bit intense.

“Believe me that I love you more than anything” he continues when she’s still silent, panting mouth agape.

“I’m….” her words were stuck in her throat, she wanted to say the same but still awestruck by the intensity of the kiss they shared.

“I’ve loved you since we were 15, I think I fell for you on the night of my birthday. The time you came to me wearing that stupid but cute bunny onesie with that smile on your face as you bring the cake. I saw you differently that day, I honestly didn't know why but swore that I’d make you mine” he confesses, cheeks heating up.
