Chapter 3 - Can't

    “This is it Lily, this is our end.” I gulped and immediately felt the pressure on my scruff disappear. I sat up and shook my head and turned to look at him. But he was no longer a wolf anymore. He shifted back into his human form and my goddess was he absolutely gorgeous. There in front of me stood my mate, completely naked. He was tan and tall. At least 6’1. He was bulky in the shoulders and chest complete with a six pack and v. He was now standing and looking at me.

    “How dare you run from me! How dare you run from your mate! You are mine!” He said angrily. He then shook his head and blinked a couple of times. I laid down and curled up in a ball and threw my tail over my eyes. I heard him take a deep breath and slowly walk towards me. I was shaking in fear.

    “I’m sorry love. That was Maximus, or Max, my wolf. He’s very upset that you ran from us. I’m sorry if he scared you.” He said gently and knelt towards me. I uncovered my eyes and lifted my head and started sniffing towards him. I was still shaking. “Why don’t you shift back love? We can have a chat?” He said very hopeful. I looked at him and immediately shook my head and curled back up and covered my face again.     “Okay, hey, it’s okay to feel a little shy, but I am your mate and I would love to meet you. Please?” He again said hopeful.

    POV Ace

    I found her and I feel terrible. Max wasn’t exactly thrilled at the fact that she ran away from us. He took over control immediately and took off after her. I was pissed when I felt him fling towards her and bring her to the ground. I pushed forward and shifted quickly. The second I did he pushed forward again and scared the s**t out of her. She made herself so small and it looked like she was trying to hide. It was adorable. I wanted her to shift so I could meet her officially. When she refused Max was furious! He pushed forward again.

    “SHIFT I SAID!” He used our alpha voice and right then and there she stood up and shifted. Goddess she was gorgeous. She had long light brown hair with a hint of blond and red throughout it. She was thin, but thick throughout her lower half. She was so small, probably not even 5’0 tall. She turned around and was covering herself and crying. At this I pushed myself forward and Maximus back.

    “I’m so sorry love… Uhh... Max is very eager… I’m sorry.” I whispered approaching her slowly. She was still crying, and it killed me inside to see her upset and so terrified. I felt like she didn’t want me to touch her, but I wanted to get to know her and figure out where she came from. My pack has been here for decades. We recently were hit by a terrible tornado and our pack house was destroyed. With that I decided to expand our land out and build a new pack house on the new land. How have I not noticed her? Or even felt her near?

    “Well, my name is Ace, or Alexander or even Alex, whichever you prefer. I am the Alpha of the Diamond Moon pack and you love, will be its next Luna.” I was trying to start some sort of a conversation with her to lighten the mood.

    “I… I… I can’t. I’m sorry alpha… I can’t be your Luna.” She said through tears streaming down her face. “I’m sorry.” She whispered and looked down.

    “Why, you are my mate. The moon Goddess chose you for me. Why would you reject me?” I questioned fighting back tears as soon as the word ‘reject’ left mt lips.

    “I’m so sorry…” she said again and turned around and took off. I could hear her footsteps as she ran away from me. What was her deal? Why was she so afraid of me? Why couldn’t she see that I just wanted her. That I just wanted to give her the world. Why was she fighting so hard to leave me? I had to find out. So, I took off after her to try and talk to her again.
