Chapter 5
The next time Todd woke up, it was too wonderful aromas filtering through the air into his brain. His stomach rumbled and demanded attention. Taking a few seconds to rub the top of Nick’s head, he realized how utterly exhausted his mate must have been. Despite the touches and promise of food, Nick never so much as flinched.
Wiggling out from under Nick, he eased off the bed, found his clothes, and pulled on jeans and a sweatshirt, relieved his movements didn’t bring on any of the painful coughing he’d been suffering from for so long. Todd drew the blanket up over Nick’s shoulders, smoothed his hand across Nick’s hair, and bent, pressing a soft kiss to Nick’s temple.
Nick snuffled in his sleep but otherwise didn’t move.
