I shut the door behind me and stared at the place in bewilderment. Damn! It was soooo freaking huge and complicated to navigate. I decided to try my luck and started walking straight ahead. Luckily, I ran into Aurelio. "Oh my God! I'm so happy to run into you." I beamed. "Sup' princess?" He said, wiggling his eyebrows. " I'm kinda lost." I admitted. "I need to grab lunch." "Sure. Let's go. " He replied. "You're being awfully nice today." I commented. "I'm always like this. You just haven't noticed. "
He did have a point. I guess I just assumed he'd be an asshole like Raffaele.
"Why aren't you eating?" I asked, taking a bite off my burger. "Cos I already did." He replied. "So you decided to hang with me then?". I inquired. "I just don't want you to get lost again."
I scoffed. "Well, you really are sweet. My apologies for not noticing and being rude to you all the time."
"It's okay. Most people usually assume that a guy can't be sweet and sexy at the same time."
I rolled my eyes at his self-praise.
"Sure." I agreed. "People do assume that. It's more of a common stereotype."
I chugged my soda and continued. "I do know one person who is like that, tho,"
"Who?" Aurelio questioned. "Raffaele." I whispered, and we both erupted in laughter. "So true." Honestly, I was kinda surprised when he agreed. "Right? Such a pain in the ass." I chuckled.
We probably looked like middle school teenagers gossiping and giggling, but we hardly gave a s**t.
Suddenly, work didn't feel so bad. I just made a new friend. Yayyy.
Remind me why I said work didn't feel so bad again cos it sure did the very next morning.
Raffaele actually kept to his word when he said I'd be driving today. Honestly, I couldn't remember the last time I drove. Probably when Thea was having one of her bad days and I had to drive her home when she drank to stupor. BTW, the chances of Thea having bad days are slim to none. So, Raffaele should be waving all his riches farewell.
I got behind the wheel and got on the road. Honestly, I wasn't paying any attention yesterday, so I resorted to luck. I drove straight ahead for about 10 minutes, took a right turn five minutes later, and a left turn another 5 minutes after that.
"Just f*****g stop". Raffaele commanded in a low growl. I brought the car to a halt. It was so abrupt, I could hear the tires screech. I sat there terrified. Well, up until he came around and flung the door open practically yanking me out of the driver's seat.
I fidgeted uncomfortably in the passenger seat as Raffaele took over the wheel. He looked really pissed.I sighed looking out the window as the morning summer breeze blew against my brown locks.
"Why are you following me?" Raffaele broke the uncanny silence that lingered between us from the moment we were in the car. He must have forgotten that we literally share an office. "I'm not. Just headed to my office." I replied matter-of-factly. "Go get me a cup of freshly brewed black coffee". He instructed.
"I'm sorry. What?"
"You're my assistant. It's your job". He replied taking a seat behind his desk. I scoffed and left the office.
Remind me the reason I took this job again
