The maid woke up the morning after her story. She hoped the child had slept well and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. She started cooking Eggs, Bacon, Bread and a bowl of fruit. After she was done she called to the girl. “Claudia Blood-Rose, time to get up child. Breakfast is ready!” but got no answer. She called again “Claudia?” this time getting concerned. She went to the young girl’s room only to find the bed empty and untouched. She looked all around the property and couldn’t find any clue of where she might be. So, she decided to go to the neighbor’s and ask if they saw her. However, they had not. She was nowhere to be found. ... Claudia woke up and forgot where she was. She looked around and everything was bright. Perfect. A little too perfect. She went into the dining hall to see her mother and father sitting at the table eating breakfast.” Hello, our lovely daughter” father said with a gentle crooked smile. It gave her a shiver down her spine. “Greetings father. Mother. How is your morning? Good I hope.” she said quietly. She then sat down at the table but dared not eat the food in front of her. “Claudia?” the mother said. “Why aren’t you eating your breakfast? Are you not hungry my child?” She then answered “No, mother. I am not. I am sorry.” she looked down at her skirt and waited. For what she did not know, but she simply waited. “Alright my dearest. Well go to your room and rest. I am sure you are very tired.” answered her father. Claudia then went up to her room. She did not recognize any of it, but she went along with what was going on. She then laid in bed and fell right to sleep. However, no happy dreams came. Only nightmares. ... A dark void surrounded everything in sight. Nothing seen. Nothing felt. So dark you cannot tell whether your eyes are closed or not. Wait. What’s this wet feeling on my body? It isn’t water… too thick to be...It’s smooth.. A few steps forward and I trip. There are cloths her... Hair? People? Where am I? Something flickers, then a probe of flashing lights is all there is. I look at my hands. My cloths. Covered in blood. I look down, a knife stabbed into everyone I know. Throats slit, blood still gushing from their limp, lifeless bodies. I scream in terror. Then trip once again. Only to land on the kind maid who had taken care of me. Her bloody corpse before my very eyes...horror and... blood lust? Consumes me...an uncontrollable laugh. It is coming from me... A loud insane laughter. I walk out of the room. I look around. I am afraid. I go to a mirror and look at myself. An unrecognizable face. Blood covering my body. A gory knife in my hand. I scream but the reflection laughs. It then starts to emerge from the mirror and so I run. My own. Myself, chases me and then tackles. I know it’s over but I try to fight back anyway. And then... ... Claudia gasps for air as she awakes. Sweat dripping down her face, arms, body. She is back in the much to perfect room. The door is knocked, “Claudia? Is everything okay?” a woman’s voice asks. Claudia hesitates…”Y…Yes… I’m alright…” her voice a little shaky. “I’m going to stay in here a while.” “Alright my darling. Lunch will be ready soon. So, we will come to get you then.” said the voice. “Okay. Thank you.” Although, she had her own plans. She was getting out of here. ... “Claudia!” the neighbors called. Everyone worried about the sweet girl. “Common Claudia! Come out!” they hollered. But there was no answer.
