Kairus Ace's POV:
"Where the heck are you going, Kairus?" I glanced at the woman lying on the bed, who was covered in a heavy quilt. I just shook my head and resumed putting on my jeans. "Come on, I already paid for this hotel room, and you're going to leave me right away?"
"I still have a lot to accomplish, Nicole. It's vital, and it's even more important than you," I answered flatly, not even glancing at her.
"What? And who the hell is Nicole, huh?" I paused to put on my belt and stared at her again. "It's me, Sofia, you i***t. So it's really true what people say about you having a lot of women, huh ?"
I simply became fatigued and then continued to put on my clothing. I chose to ignore her. With the number of ladies I've slept with, I can't even remember their names. It's not that important for me to remember their names, because after having s*x with them, I'm done with them. There are no strings attached. Just plain s*x, that's it.
After I put on my clothes, I immediately left the hotel room. I even heard Sofia calling me but I couldn't look back at her. I'm in a hurry because when my grandfather finds out I'm not at home, I'll be charmed again.
I even had some women in the elevator who were screaming and giggling while looking at me. Well, I can't blame them. I am a Silvenia, except for my appearance, our family manages the entire city. I am almost known by the majority.
I hurried out of the elevator and went to the parking lot to pick up my car. It's a good thing the traffic isn't that long even though it's a little late now. I didn't go straight home and went to the coffee shop to buy coffee instead.
"Kairus, hello?" I glanced at the coffee shop's door when I was abruptly beckoned. A woman with raised shades on her head, wearing a black turtle neck inside, and a gray coat outside was right in front of me now. She held a cup of coffee in her right hand and her bag in her left. My forehead furrowed because the reality is, I don't know her. "Hello, my name is Patricia. Don't you remember me?"
I gave her a phony smile, and nodded slightly. "I'm sorry I don't remember you actually."
"Nahh, it's okay, you know it's been a month. I'm leaving for Canada tomorrow, do you have time tonight?" Her voice was a touch cheeky as she adjusted the collar of the button-up shirt I was wearing. "What do you think about a steamy night together?"
After she said it, the corners of my lips were raised. I can't believe she had the audacity to tell me this in public.
"I'm sorry, I don't have time," I told her simply, gently removing her arms from around my neck.
"Come on, Kairus, I know you have time for girls all the time." she said, rolling her eyes on me.
I grinned. She knew, didn't she? "I'm sorry, I have a lot of business to attend to."
She pouted and crossed her arms in front of me. Childish. "Fine, I'll see you the next time I come home. Good bye, handsome." She bit her lower lip as if she was seducing me while gently stroking my chest before leaving.
I waited for her to exit in front of me before going inside. I went straight to the desk to place my coffee order. When our gazes connected, the female barista's smile remained constant.
"Good morning, sir, what would you like to order?" The barista inquired with her smile reaching her ears.
"One espresso please," The barista told me something else that I could hardly hear and understand because of the sudden ringing of my phone.
I was shocked and taken aback when I saw daddy's name on the screen of my cellphone. I just let the call end and didn't turn off the call because he would be even more annoyed. I'll let him think I'm busy instead of ending the call, he might think I'm avoiding him again.
When my phone rang again, I spotted the barista placing my coffee on the counter. Because I stood up straight and turned around to leave, I didn't hear what the woman said.
My gaze was fixed on the screen of my cellphone, damn it. I was going to answer the phone when I was hit by something in front of me.
No, correction. I was hit by someone.
"Oh dios mio !" I heard her exclaim while I was staring at her dark gown. I noticed the coffee I was carrying had been dumped there, s**t. Because of the heat from the coffee that poured there, she was slightly shaking her garments.
"s**t," I murmured gently, shaking the coffee that was already stuck to her clothes. "I'm sorry, miss, I was in a hurry —-"
I couldn't continue what I was about to say when she suddenly tapped my hand away from her clothes. "Don't you dare lay your fingers on me, tu estupido."
//tu estupido: you stupid//
My forehead furrowed. "What did you just say?" I asked her, making her eyebrows rise. Did she just curse me? Did she really use another language to insult me? She assumed I wouldn't get it, huh? "Did you just say I'm stupid?"
"You heard it, yet you still asked?" I noticed her little frown and then looked down at her coffee-stained clothes.
I winced in great annoyance. The nerve of this girl. Does she not recognize me? How dare she have the courage to speak to me in this way, huh?
"Wait, do you even know who I am?" I questioned, agitated.
She gave me a direct stare. I took advantage of an opportunity to inspect her appearance. I see no emotions in her eyes. Her eyes are very hard to read. I noticed a tiny raise of her brow.
"No, and I'm not interested either." I was startled when she eventually turned her back on me to exit the coffee shop. I even heard something from her that I couldn't grasp due to the language she uses.
I still can't believe someone just cursed me. The precision with which I had the attention of all the customers inside shook me. f**k. I swallowed and glanced down, embarrassed.
When I noticed a wallet on the floor, I grimaced. I grabbed it and gazed at it. It's an expensive Levi's wallet. I didn't think twice before opening it to check who owned it.
When I opened the purse, a picture of a woman, the woman I had run into, appeared in front of me. The lady that cursed at me. Even in the photo, you can't see any emotions in her eyes. It's very difficult to read her eyes, as if you don't know what's going on in her mind.
I ran out of the coffee shop, looking around, hoping that I'd still be able to find her. However, I never saw her again.
I took another look at the photo of her there. This girl is distinct. She is the only one who stands out among all the women I encounter. When I run into a woman, even if it was my fault, they usually apologize first.
She was the only woman I met who cursed at me. All the other women I met were overjoyed when I faced them. But that girl, I couldn't even see the excitement in her eyes.
She is the only woman that isn't even interested in me. And I find her challenging. I searched her wallet to look for her phone number but found none. There are many other cards out there that I am not familiar with. I took one of her IDs there to look for the owner's name.
Ria Alcantara..
I just realized I was smiling as I glanced at her name printed there. What the hell is going on here? What exactly am I doing?
I only shook my head as I slipped her wallet into my pocket. I also got in the car since I needed to go home. When I return home, I'm sure I will listen to my father's sermon again. He always reminds me that I have to be at their rally all the time. Especially now that the election is approaching.
However, because fate is a weird thing, traffic is currently extremely heavy. I merely shook my head and stared out my car window. I was reminded of the woman I had met earlier. I hate to admit this, but she's adorable.
I will surely find that girl.
And I shall go after her.
