Chapter 29: Second Chance
I broke down and decided to have a second dinner date with Dugan. Some men deserved a second chance, even if they had boyfriends at home. Not many, though. But some. I didn’t know the details behind Dugan’s affair with the stranger named Colby that he had spoken to on his cellphone during our first date. Maybe Colby was an ex, having already been dumped. Were the two men living under the same roof, separated? Was Colby in the process of finding a new place to live, temporarily staying with Dugan? Anything could be possible in Dugan’s life; hence why I accepted his cellphone call.
The arrangement with Dugan unfolded without any hitches whatsoever. The call lasted no more than two minutes.
