If Konrad wanted more information about Myrrolen’s Circus, what better source than Myrrolena herself? Elusive she may be, but somehow he had to find a way to speak with her.
He dispatched a note requesting an urgent meeting, but he was not surprised when no reply came. He tried posing as a newspaper reporter seeking an interview, but that elicited no response either (of course, Myrrolena was probably inundated with such requests since the unprecedented closure of the circus the day before). He tried simply turning up and asking for her, but of course nobody admitted to knowing where she was.
Having exhausted all reasonable and legal avenues of enquiry, Konrad turned (not without a certain alacrity) to somewhat stealthier methods.
