The next morning I wake up with a slight hangover. Maybe a little too much to drink. I laugh when I think about last night. I had a great night. And I think I made some new good friends.
I look at my phone. It's only 9:30. I decide to take a shower and then have breakfast. When I come downstairs I see a large breakfast buffet. My stomach is rumbling. Usually, I don't have much breakfast, but the morning after a night out I'm always hungry. Everything is there. fruit, yogurt, croissants, simple sandwiches that you can fill with anything, boiled eggs, and even scrambled eggs and bacon.
I think it's quite a lot for a small hotel, but that must have something to do with all the werewolves here. I start with a big cup of tea and some scrambled eggs and bacon.
While I am enjoying my food, Dean walks in. He waves.
He grabs a big plate of food with a little bit of everything and comes over to me. "Do you mind if I join you?" He asks and I smile, "Sure, sit down." I reply.
"So that's a big breakfast." I say.
"Yeah, we usually eat more than normal people." He answers.
"Yes, I thought so, I already thought the amount of food was quite a lot for a small hotel." I say laughing.
He chuckles. "And did you have a nice evening last night?" He asks.
"Yeah, it was great. Kind of a shame about the hangover when I woke up." I joke. "And I appreciate you didn't say anything about me being Jason's mate." I add.
"No problem, Pam and I thought it best not to say anything until you've made a decision. And if Jason wants it out, he'll do it himself." He explains.
We chat a bit, mostly about last night about how I liked it and the others.
"I'll get some more, can I get you something?" He asks.
I think for a moment. "I'd like some fruit salad, thanks."
When Dean comes back he asks, "And already thought about Jason, any idea what you're going to do?"
I sigh. "No, not really. I called my aunt yesterday. I thought she'd tell me to just go for it, but surprisingly she thinks I should tell him how I feel. That I should say I'm not ready for it."
"Isn't that a good idea? Why are you doubting?" He asks.
"Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe there's a chance he doesn't get it, no idea."
Dean thinks for a moment. "Listen, I'm not going to tell you what you should do because I don't know. What I do know, is that Jason is a really good guy. And an even better Alpha for our pack. He's been looking for his mate for so long, I don't think he'll just give that up." He says eventually.
I smile briefly. "I hope you're right."
"You don't have to decide now of course. Take your time, he will understand. Do you have plans for today?" He asks.
"Not yet, why?"
"I'm off today and going for a swim at the lake with some friends. Want to come with me? The others from yesterday are coming too." He offered.
I think for a moment. "Yeah, sure, why not. Then I can get to know you a little better." I say.
He smiles broadly. "Nice, I'm going home, and then I'll pick you up in an hour." He says.
"Okay, see you in an hour then." I answer.
I quickly eat my fruit and go to my room.
When we go swimming, I really have to shave first. While shaving, I doubt which bikini to wear. I have a beautiful turquoise triangle bikini and a green strapless one.
In the end, I go for the turquoise bikini. I put on a loose green dress over it.
I'm looking for my special beach bag in my suitcase. Of course, I had it all the way down. At least it was now easier to find my sandals and bath towel.
I'm not sure if I should bring a book or not. I'll take it anyway, you never know. When I have put everything in my bag I want to walk out of the room.
At the last minute, I decided that I want to take my sunglasses with me too. When I get downstairs, Dean is already waiting for me. "Ready to go?" He asks.
"Yeah sorry I kept you waiting, couldn't find my sunglasses." I apologize.
"No problem, I just got there." And we walk out of the hotel.
"You've probably seen it already, but the lake is right behind the hotel." He says.
"Yes, I can see it from my room. It's beautiful." I reply.
After a short walk through the field, we arrived at the lake. The others were already there and I saw 3 more people I didn't know. I wave. "Hey guys!" I yell.
The others wave back. "Hey girl. Did you recover from last night?" Jady asks with a laugh.
"Ha-ha-ha." I say a little sarcastic. "I hadn't drunk that much, but yes." I put my bag down with the other stuff and take out my towel. I see a book with one of the others. I'm assuming it's Jady's as she's as much of a bookworm as I am. So I put mine next to it.
"Come on, I'll introduce you to the others." Jady says And she takes my hand so I have to walk along. "Hey guys, this is Haily, she's staying at the hotel.
"Haily, this is Alex, Nikki, and Clair." And she points to them one by one. "Alex is one of our strongest fighters, Nikki works in the pack hospital and is Alex's mate. And Clair is one of the strongest female warriors." They look shocked for a moment. "Chill guys, Haily here already knows about us, her aunt is a mate of a werewolf. And yes Jason knows about it." I smile at them. Clair is the first to speak. "Welcome Haily, nice to meet you." Jady laughs.
"Want to go for a swim?" She asks.
"Yes of course!" I walk back to my bag to take off my dress and tuck it away.
After being in the water for a while, starting to get tired. "Guys, I'm going to enjoy the sun. Tired of the water." I say laughing.
When I lie down I dry my hands well and grab my book and sunglasses.
After about 10 minutes I hear a familiar voice. "Is it a good book?"
I look up. It's Jason.
