Jason pov. I'm in my office going through some papers for the pack. I should have done that yesterday but I was too distracted. All I could think about was Haily. I needed some distraction so after a failed attempt to work I went to the gym. When I came back, Dean asked if I wanted to go to The Hunt in the evening. I wanted to go, but when I heard that Haily would also be there, I dropped out. I promised to give her time. Forcing myself on her won't help. Instead, I let Loki run for a while. I was trying to go through some papers when there was a knock on the door. "Come on in." I said. Dean enters. "Alpha Jason." He says as he bowed his head. "Dean, how was yesterday? Did you notice anything about Haily? Has she thought about it yet?" I ask. "It was fun. Not quite. I spoke to her this morning at breakfast. She still needs time. But I think she'll probably want to talk soon." He tells. "Hmm okay..." I'm a little disappointed. I had hoped she'd want to talk faster. Maybe then I can convince her. "You know what, we're going swimming with some people at the lake later. Why don't you come with us? Haily is coming too. Maybe you can talk then?" Dean suggests. I think about it for a moment. "I don't know if that's a good idea. I think she should come to me if she wants to. I don't want to push her to make a decision. Or make her feel uncomfortable." He shrugs ad my answer. "Okay fine. If you change your mind, we're leaving in an hour." And he walks away. I go try to go back to work. But after an hour I give up. I really can't concentrate. Maybe I should go? "Loki, what do you think?" I ask my wolf. "You know what I think Jason. I told you yesterday to go. You should take every chance to be with our mate." I think for a moment. "Yes I know, but what if she doesn't want to yet? If we force ourselves, she might go away." "There's only one way to find out. Let's just go!" I sigh and finally give in. The work can wait. I get up to change. When I arrive at the lake I stop for a moment. I see Haily coming out of the water. Oh f*ck, she looks so sexy in that bikini. I have to force myself to stay calm and not jump on her. Okay, here we go. She's so damn hot! And I walk towards her. Haily pov. "Is it a good book?" I hear a familiar voice say. I look up and see Jason standing. "Eh, yes one of my fa-fa-favorites." I stammer. I feel myself blushing. Omg, he looks sexy as hell in just shorts. He has a V-line. "See something you like?" He asks with a grin. Ooh, that smile. I blush even more and look away shyly. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" He asks. "Yeah, of course." I put my book away. An awkward silence follows. "So.. how do you like it here so far?" He asks. I don't dare to look at him yet. Afraid I can only stare. "Um, yeah it's okay here... I guess? Jady and Dean introduced me to a few people. They seem nice to me." I say. Another awkward silence follows. Then Jady comes running. She bows her head. "Alpha" She says. He smiles briefly. Nikki also comes out of the water. "Sorry, guys gotta go. They need me in the hospital." She grabs her things and walks away. "That's a shame, we just wanted to do some kind of dodgeball." Jady says. "Dodgeball? In the water?" I ask. The only dodge ball I know of, we used to do at school. "Yes, the women sit on the shoulders of the men, and then you have to try to throw each other off with a ball." She explains. "Um okay, sounds nice." I say. "Is it, do you want to join?" She asks. I look at Jason. "I'm in if you want." He says. And he smiles briefly. I think for a moment. "Yeah okay." Jady grabs a big ball and we walk back to the water. Lily is of course together with Zac and Liv with Steve. Jady climbs onto Dean's shoulders and Clair onto Alex. Then I have to go with Jason. I look at him hesitated. He drops down and extends a hand so that I can easily climb onto his shoulders. I feel the familiar sparks again. When I'm stable, he grabs my legs. "Ready?" He asks. "Yeah, think so." I answer briefly. Then he walks to the others. "Let the odds be ever in your favor!" laughs Jady. The others look at her questioningly. But of course, I know it's a quote from The Hunger Games. I grin at her. Jady throws the ball our way but Jason catches it. "Would you like to give it a try?" He asks and I take the ball. "You have to get closer, I can never hit them like that." I say. He starts walking towards Liv and Steve. When we get closer I throw the ball as hard as I can. It comes close but Liv catches it. "Good effort Haily, not good enough." She says teasingly. I smile. "Just wait!" They don't know, of course, that I was always one of the best in school. Of course, that was with people and no wolves. As far as I know of course. Jason and I make a good team. In the end, Jady and I are left with the boys. We throwback and forth but eventually Jady manages to get me off balance and I fall into the water. "Victory!!" laughs Jady. "Are you OK?" Jason asks concerned. "Yeah, I'm fine." I assure him. We all walk out of the water. "Haily, shall we go for a walk? I'd like to talk."
