Story 6: The maths test

In the last story I mentioned that Elise doesn't really take school seriously like other people do and all she carries with herself on school days is just a simple small notebook and a blue pen, no backpack. She hasn't even bought the needed books for school. Many people might wonder how she passes exams and tests without them. The answer to this question is simple - she does but with cheating. One time when we had a maths test she went around other classes to ask for notes for the test, she even asked some of us, her classmates for notes. Some people didn't give her anything while her friends couldn't help Elise because they are the same as her - they didn't care enough to write during lessons and now they rely on notes from other people, hoping to be able to cheat. Eventually after 2 hours she managed to get everything needed and shared those notes with her friends. When it was time for the test she secretly looked at them to help herself and from time to time asked her friends "Do you have anything? Any answer to any question?". If someone had something they would share it with Elise. It all sounds like a good method, especially when you are bad at a subject or in her case not wanting to study something. Unfortunately for our dear Elise the teacher caught her. She tried claiming that she didn't cheat, that she didn't know those notes even existed but nothing worked in her favor. After some time though she managed to get out from this mess by giving the teacher some small amount of money, a little "gift" as she called it back then. With this method she never had to study. Of course it didn't always work, sometimes she automatically got punished by receiving the lowest grade possible but did it scare or stop her? No. Did it make her parents mad? No. They didn't care, just like Elise doesn't care. They didn't care what she does or what happens with her, they didn't bother doing anything about it and unfortunately that's reality in more and more places nowadays.
