Chapter 18

Val

I woke up actually feeling refreshed. I was lying on something hard and warm, and then realized it was my solid, strong mate. He looked so handsome lying there with no shirt on. I reached up and touched the side of his face and he started to growl. "I'm not sure if that was you or your stomach”, I said.

He smiled and growled out "Hi baby." Before pulling me in next to him.

"Are you feeling better? " He asked.

I felt my nerves starting to amp up again, but he held me closer, and I relaxed into his touch. "Yes, I am, but very nervous" I said.

" How about we go somewhere special, just us, for dinner? " Lucas asked.

"I would like that," I said, smiling at him.

" Can we go to Dy's room 1st?" I asked.

"Absolutely." He spoke

I went to go grab a sweater out of my bag and told Lucas "I'm going to have to go get some more clothes soon or I'll be walking around naked"

"I wouldn't mind that at all" he said, grinning at me.

I went into the bathroom and washed my face and put some make-up back on. At least my eyes were not all as puffy as I imagined they were before.

Lucas came in and put his arms around me and smelled the top of my head. "What do I smell like?" I asked.

"Like the greatest smelling cinnamon with lavender and rose" he said.

" What do I smell like to you? "He asked.

I blushed and replied "like pine and fresh mountain air" .

He tilted my face up towards him and bent down and gave me a peck on the lips. "ready to go?" Lucas asked before holding out a hand,

"Yep." I responded

We walked hand and hand down the hall to Damien and Dy's room. Val knocked and Damien answered, and he let Val in. I could see her run over to Dy say something and give her a hug. Dy returned the hug and hadn't let her go yet. I cleared my throat. Dy released her and glared at me while I shook Damien's hand. "Better?" I asked Val.

"Yes definitely" Val said,

We walked down to a little barbecue place close to the packhouse and then took it to a small park. It was late enough that there weren't too many people since it was a school night. As we walked back towards the packhouse, Gavin was bugging me. "Let me talk to mate" he said.

I don't know if she's ready for you "I said

"But I want to meet her wolf". Gavin whined

" I don't know if she even has a wolf ", I told him.

"Well, maybe if she meets me her wolf will come out" Gavin said.

I looked down to see Val watching me and asked," is everything OK? "

" Yes, I was just talking to my wolf. "I told her.

"Oh? Do you talk a lot?" She asked.

"Yes, depending on the day," I said.

"I see. So, what kind of things do you talk about?" Val asked.

"Well, right now he wants to talk to you" I said.

"OK, but maybe I should know his name 1st?" Val said chuckling.

I chuckled and said "that might help. "His name is Gavin".

"Should I be scared of him?" Val asked.

"No. He will protect you because you are our mate. Normally, I get this half of you, and he would get the wolf half as his mate." I said, kissing her hand.

She looked sad, "but since I don't have a wolf probably..." she trailed off.

"Hey, we don't know that, I mean you already feel our bond." I said, trying to make her feel better.

"I'd like to meet him" Val said.

"Okay. When we get back" I told her, and now Gavin's tale was wagging.

We made it back to the packhouse, and I definitely wasn't used to everyone staring at me, and Lucas could tell I was uncomfortable, so he rushed upstairs, and I could barely keep up. I was breathless once we reached the top of the stairs. "Is this my workout for the day? Mr. Noir?" I asked, and then realized and blurted out "I don't know your last name? Is it black, Noir, whatever?"

He chuckled as we walked into his room, "it's Blackfur, we just went to Black or Noir with humans a long time ago." He spoke

"Annnd I'll be happy to give you a workout if you'd like" he said as he grabbed me quickly, almost dipping me while raising his eyebrows several times.

"I do declare" I said in my best Southern accent.

He stood me back up after giving me a peck on the lips, "so when do I get to meet Gavin.? "I asked.

"Now if you want?" Lucas replied.

"Oh, okay" I said

Lucas stilled for a minute and then his gaze shifted to me, his features went from happy and carefree to more intense and brooding. His eyes were dark, almost black.

"Gavin?" I asked, swallowing hard.

"Hello little belle," Gavin said.

"You wanted to talk to me?" I questioned.

"Yes, I was hoping if we talked that maybe your wolf would come out to play." He said, as he moved quickly across the floor and grabbed me by a** and pinned me against the wall. He slammed his lips into mine and then tasted every bit of my mouth. He moved to my neck, kissing it, stopping by where Dy had told me Lucas would mark me. "We will mark you soon" he said.

"I will let Lucas have you back right now, little Belle". Gavin kissed me intensely and then I could feel it soften. He released my lips and I realized Lucas was back.

"Hi!" I said while still in the air.

Lucas stopped and smiled "You're amazing, I hope you know, and I think Gavin had the right idea." He said before slamming his lips back into mine, pressing me against the wall as he took off my shirt and unclasped my bra and flung it.

I was more than happy to help with his shirt. Before I knew it, his pants were off, and my feet barely touched the floor and my pants were off, as he was already teasing my wet p***y with his tongue, he brought me close to climax this time, and then lifted me onto his hard swollen rod. He started slowly and then drove faster and harder into the wall as I held onto his back with my fingers and dug my fingernails in, which caused a growl and harder thrusting until we both climaxed.

Lucas let me down to floor, and we headed to the bathroom to rinse off. He really was all muscle, as I looked at his backside as we walked. "Nice butt" I said.

"Yours too" he said as he quickly grabbed me and flung me into the air and bit a butt cheek.

I looked at his back as we toweled off and realized that I had left 2 different sets of scratches on him today, and the newest was bleeding. "Oh my God!" I'm so sorry", I said, putting a hand on his back.

"I'm not." He said, turning around and grinning.

"Doesn't it hurt? Do I need to bandage it?" I asked.

"It does a little, but they'll stop bleeding here after a bit." Lucas said, "wolves heal quickly". He added

"Oh!" I think I need a diary or a book to write all this down in. "I giggled.

"You'll get it, I have no doubt" he said, pulling me to bed after I found my pajamas.

As we lay there, I could feel him relaxing and I thought I should ask "when can I go get the rest of my stuff? What do I do about the cafe? What about the dogs?".

I was dreading all of these questions. "Maybe tomorrow? Let's look at the reports in the morning." I told her.

"Okay" she said as she yawned.

She really was the most adorable creature. I kissed her head and felt her relax into me. I closed my eyes and could hear her falling asleep next to me.

I felt sparks shooting across my chest, which was from my mate mindlessly rubbing my chest while she laid there waiting for me to wake up. I growled as I loved feeling her touch, but I wanted to keep lying there with her in my arms.

"Good morning to you too, sunshine." I heard her giggle.

If I could hear that every day, I would be happy, I thought. "Morning" I said.

Her brown eyes looked up at me and I just wanted to get lost in them all day. How do any wolves get anything done, really? I kissed her forehead as she tried to squirm away from me to go to the bathroom.

She walked back in her pajama bottoms and tank top, and half pulled out braid and still looked amazing. "So, what do you think? Will I be able to get some more stuff? Or I'm going to have to do laundry or shop." She said.

I pulled her into my lap, "Well let me see what the warrior reports look like for the last couple nights, and maybe you can call Max and see if he's seen Mr. Town Marshal. Then we can make a plan from there." I said.

"I don't mind the dogs; I'm just worried they might feel scared around these many wolves. What do you think? I asked her

"I'll call Max, but if I can't go today, it's on your dime." She said, smiling at me.

"I don't know. I'll ask Max what he thinks. They are like my babies." She said.

"I know. I want to make sure we do what's right for them", I told her.

"What about the Cafe? I can't close it. People rely on it, and it was my mother's, " Val said, as a tear came to her eye.

"I know. I don't want you to close it. Maybe we can come up with another solution." I told her.

She smiled and curled up next to me. "We have to go see my cousin today too." I reminded her.

"Yes. Dr. James" She snarled.

"Come on, let's get ready." I told her.

We showered separately since I knew I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off of her, and I did have things to get to today. She came out of the closet, wearing a pair of Jeggings, button down top and a vest. Her reddish blonde hair was pulled up into a bun on top of her head and just the right amount of hair fell around her face and neck.

I grabbed her and held her to me, and just thought about ripping everything off, but I just reached down, grabbed her face in my hands and kissed her. I released her lips and she said "I thought you said we had to go."

I cleared my throat, "we do, otherwise those are coming back off." As I smiled at her.

I held out my hand and she grabbed it, sending pleasurable sparks up my arm. I led her downstairs to the kitchen.
