Chapter 8

Arushi

That means my heart was right, I was right Bella is my mother, the mother who gave birth to me. I don't care if she ages or not, I don’t care if she will accept me as her daughter or not the only thing I need from her is a hug which could tell me, my daughter, you were never unwanted.

The only way I had then to fulfill my wish was to wait, wait till the marriage.

I was on leave from my restaurant for preparations and since then I never saw Stanley not in Mehendi function not in Haldi function never.

"Did I said something to hurt him", the question repeated in my heart. What did he found out about Bella that he was so serious about it. I missed him, all the functions were empty without him. Aditi was happiest than ever, dad was also happy everyone there was happy but me. I tried asking Mr. Tejwa about him but he just said that Stanley keeps him away from functions like that.

25th march was on our door. Finally the day of the marriage was important for both Aditi and me. Aditi was going to start a new phase of her life and I was going to find the truth of my life. The whole day I was restless, that day was the longest day of my life.

The marriage was going to be held in one of the Tejwa's mansions. And we all were ready for it. The Tejwa's mansion was huge the whole compound was so big that it would take almost half a day to go through every corner of it. The whole compound contained much small building but the front was the biggest of all that was where the marriage was going to be held. Dad and Aditi went inside but I was out at the entrance waiting for Bella. All of the guests who came there were staring at me but that didn't make me move.

Finally, the waiting was over. Bella really came there, she was in a sari her hair was curled and she was gorgeous. She came to me directly, "Can you send Aditi to me"

"She is inside, why don't you go there"

"I don't like crowds, I just wanted to see her in her wedding dress"

For a while I thought she was really a doppelganger, she was too young to be my mother. "Okay you wait here, I will bring her out", I said when she began to freak out. I didn't know what to do but I had to see her alone away from the crowd.

I kept on looking at her from the door and she was standing there waiting for Aditi, she seemed disturbed. After a while finding the best situation I went toward her

"Aditi said she will meet you in the cabin", I said leading her behind the building. She followed me without hesitation and when we were finally infront of the cabin, she began to freak out again, "Where is Aditi?"

"She is coming here", I said calming her down but she was not ready to do that. She moved here and there as if her life was empty without Aditi, she was too desperate to meet her.

"I think I have to go now", said she when she realized that there was no sign of her coming.

"Please, wait for a second", I held her hand to stop her but she grabbed it from me as if I gave her a shock

"Please stop, I wanted to talk to you about something"

"I want to talk to Aditi not you"

"Please just listen to me for a while. I have waited for you for ages please"

"Ages?"

"Yes", please take a look at this I said giving her the picture of my mom. It was there on the basket when people found me on the farm when I was just a month old. I don't know anything about you but you look just like her. I just wanted to know if you know her?"

Her hands were shaking when she held that. Her eyes widen when she carefully looked at the picture. "The one in the picture with her is me. She must have been my mom. I haven't seen her yet but I want to find her. So please tell me if you know anything about her"

She looked at me as if she was desperate to meet me for ages. That time her eyes were saying "Yes, I am your mother".

She came toward me and caressed my cheek with her hand with tears in her eyes.

"You are the one who is there in the picture right?", I stammered but she kept looking at me with so much love in her eyes

"You are her right", I said again.

Suddenly she jerked her hand off me. "No, I am not your mother", her eyes were down.

"I know you are my mom, I saw it in your eyes. You were happy to see me too. Please don't lie I have waited for you since long ago", I was already crying.

"No, you must have misunderstood. I don't know anything about the woman in the picture and think yourself how can I be your mom I am just 22 years old. Maybe younger than you"

"I know you are lying, please tell me the truth. I deserve the truth."

"I don't know what you are saying.", said she turning around to leave. I kept on crying there in agony she was the only piece of hope I had.

"Can I give you a suggestion, don't waste your time searching for her. She was the one to leave you don't be so clingy", said she going away from me. I fell down against the wall of the cabin. For the first time in my life, I was hopeless, my dream of having a family was shattered. It was a new beginning for Aditi but for me, it was the end.

Stanley

For the last two days, I am locked in this cabin. Today is the full moon and my shift can occur anytime. Saurav is getting married and everyone is happy celebrating it with him but me. I hate that god made me like this. I am alive but dead at the same time, I am human but inhuman at the same time. I am nothing and the worst of all I don't even know why I am like this.

Arushi

I heard something, someone was crying yes, the sound was coming from inside the cabin. I thought it was empty but who could be crying there at the time when there was a celebration. I stood up from the ground and went toward the door it was locked, a big lock kept there. Suddenly the sound stopped as if the thing I heard just a minute ago was just my hallucination.

"Hey, is someone there", I shouted from outside

"hello", no one replied to my call so I thought It was just a hallucination, a reflection of my pain but suddenly a huge blast was heard from there then a roaring sound of someone crying in pain followed it. There was too much pain embedded in that shout. I couldn't control myself, I wanted to stop that sound, I wanted to soothe the person who was making that pain. It affected me too much.

I freaked out and began to run here and there and picked a huge stone from the garden. The sound was increasing and was reflecting more pain. It was like someone is experiencing too much pain more than death.

" I am coming", I shouted hitting the lock with the stone but the lock was too big, it wasn't opening. "Please God, help me", I shouted and hit the lock hardest this time and it broke finally. I hurried and opened the door the sound was gone, The whole room was dark, I couldn't see anything. There was no sound not even the sound of breath. I was confused I was damn sure that the sound was coming from there but suddenly I saw something sparkling in that dark, there were two circles in the air which were sparkling like a diamond. They were luring me, I wanted to touch them, I went ahead, for an instant I forgot all the agony and just thought that those were the happiness. I was near them when a large roar dragged me up from my illusion. Those sparking things weren't the stone, they were eyes and the owner was huge wold, a huge grey wolf as big as an elephant it was tied in a huge chain. It attacked me as soon as I go near it but thanks to the chain it couldn't harm me. I was freaked out of what I just saw, I ran from that place and that wolf kept on trying to get freed from the chain roaring and crying. I ran as much as I could, I ran past the garden and to the pool which wasn't far from the wedding reception. I was hearing people enjoying the party. I had to get there and warn Mr, Tejwa about the cabin but before I could get there I stumbled into the grass and fell down near the pool. When I tried to stand again, I saw it just infront of me, It was staring at me, and was approaching its huge body toward me.

"Please, don't kill me", I cried in horror but it kept on approaching. Its large jaws were exposed and it seemed as if it was hungry for ages.

"Please, I freed you from that cabin, don't kill me. Please", I kept on pleading not even knowing if it understands it or not but I knew that was the last day of my life. It was above me by then and exposing its large canine it attacked me. I somehow ran from there escaping it but couldn't do that for long it was faster and it caught me on my leg.

It was painful, I cried in agony, its canine were dip inside my skin and it dragged me with it pulling my leg.

"Please, leave me", I kept on crying it was paining a lot. Maybe it was its poison that was traveling in my veins from my leg, burning every part of my body as if 1000 degree Celcius hot lava was poured to me from the head. I was burning and every bone of my body was melting. I cried in pain but it kept me dragging, all the people were enjoying the wedding and no one heard my cry. Noone came there to help, Noone was there when I took my last breath.
