Chapter 25 After weight training and laps on the quarter mile running track, Ryan went to the university cafeteria and ate lunch outdoors, under a pergola covering dozens of tables and patio chairs. He sat flush against a glass barrier wall. It was a vantage point that provided him with a view of the Pacific Ocean, as well as full visibility of the cafeteria door to the patio and the other seated students and patrons. Lunch seemed to be without incident, though Ryan's curiosity piqued about a table full of men at the far corner of the patio. Three of the men wore blue sweatshirts and jeans.
