Chase POV
"You really think so? We won't know for sure until we shift though, may not know until she shifts." I hoped she is though, I may have not known her long but I liked her already. Alexis came out of the room and sat down on the couch beside me. I smiled at her as she looked at me and she turned her body toward me. This close to her I could see her eyes was of a deeper blue, almost the color of sapphires. She shyly smiled at me knowing I was deeply looking in her eyes.
"I'm sorry about my friend, she's really scared. Normally you can't get her to stop talking. She was at my house when the rogues attacked so we have no idea about her family. I'm not sure about mine either but at least I seen them before running." She explained.
"It's not a problem, I think I would feel the same way she does if it was me. I can tell you though it's not fun to know what happened either. My entire pack is gone including my family." I told her.
"I'm sorry about your family and your pack. Our pack was small and we were never really trained to fight. I don't think there will be any survivors, but Rhae and I have agreed to travel with you guys. We appreciate the offer. " She shakily spoke.
"It would be my honor to have the two of you with us. "
"Not to sound completely rude, but it would be easier for us to travel with people who can shift. We can go back to our pack and get supplies maybe even a car." She honestly told me. I really liked her straight forwardness it cuts out all the lies.
Laughing I told her it wasn't rude for her to want to be with others who could shift. "I would be happy to be your protection. It's actually in my blood, tomorrow after I shifted I would of become the alpha of my pack. "
"I'm so sorry about your pack. I intend to find out why the rogues are attacking. I guess that's three packs now. " She angrily said.
"Actually that makes six packs that I know of. I think someone hired rogues to attack. There have been too many for that not to be the case. " I said
"Six! What is going on? This has to be stopped, but why would someone take out a bunch of packs? What is their goal in this?" I could tell she was getting really angry and I didn't blame her I was to. I wanted to shift her focus on something else.
"Alexis, um I know this is going to sound kind of crazy, but I want to tell you something. I know we haven't shifted yet but my wolf, Carson, has been speaking to me since the attack. He believes that you are my mate. " I confessed.
"Well I don't think it's that crazy because Rhae and I have been hearing our wolves since right before we were attacked. My wolf Aura, well she believes that you are my mate as well. We just won't know for sure until we shift. Thankfully that's only a week away." She confessed as well.
"We can make our own pack. Start with just the six of us and can allow other survivors we find to join. Create our own pack rules with the same traditions." I suggested getting excited.
"That's a great idea. I was also visited by the Moon Goddess, she told me you were coming and it's important for Rhae's and my destiny to stay together. She said we are going to do great things. " She told me
"Well we will have to figure things out. One thing for sure is we need to find out about the rogues. I was already investigating the attacks, after that we can go from there. "
I woke the next morning with Alexis laying on me. She was cuddled up to my chest, we must have fallen asleep while we were talking. I enjoyed her soft skin against mine as we lay there on the couch. Carson was wagging his tail and drooling all over himself because of her touch and smell. He was happy and content and I honestly was too. I tried not to wake her as I got up to go to the bathroom.
After I finished in the bathroom I went back to the living room. I saw everyone was awake and talking. They were discussing what to do about eating. It was still early maybe we had enough time to head to Alexis's pack and get supplies, maybe a safe place to shift and stay for a bit.
"Do you guys think your pack is far? I asked the girls.
"Not sure how far it is. We never stopped running until we found this place, but it can't be too far as we left right around dark last night and arrived here a little before you guys did. " Rhae answered
"Well maybe we should head out and go to your pack. Find out as much as we can about these attacks. We can see if there are survivors, get supplies, food, and maybe stay for a bit. " I suggested
"I think so too. I know I'm starving. " Alexis giggled while playing with Lily.
We all left the shack and headed in the direction the girls came from. Their pack might be closer then what any of us think. It took us about an hour and a half before we reached the end of the woods where the girls had entered from Alexis's house. It was very quiet so we walked straight to the back door of the house. Alexis closed the door behind us and quickly locked it. We were safe for now and all gathered in the living room.
"Mr. Harris, I believe my parents are about the same size as you and Mrs. Harris, feel free to grab as many clothes as needed. You can shower as well. Chase, I think Rhae, you, and I can run to Rhae's house check out her place, let her grab clothes. She had a brother as well he may still have some clothes there you could use. He lives in another pack with his mate. Then the three of us can go to the pack house and check things out there. See if we can find a car and gather other supplies." Alexis taking charge of the situation. All I could think about at that moment is how amazing I thought she was.
"Rhae, are you feeling up to all this right now?" I asked her.
"Yeah, the sooner we get this done the quicker we can get back and eat. " She said
We left Mr. and Mrs. Harris at the house so they could freshen up and get something to eat. I had no clue when their last meal was. Rhae and Alexis began walking toward Rhae's house, they told me it was about a block away. We walked just a few feet away before Rhae stopped us with a strange expression on her face.
