I can feel my grip on Mathieu get tighter. So does his and for a second, I feel a little relieved. But unfortunately, that feeling doesn’t last.
“When did you get back around here, handsome?” I hear Bethany says with what sounds like her seducing voice.
It makes me want to barf!
“I’ve been around for a while, Bethany.” He answers her a little dryly. Which I appreciate a little.
“We should totally get together and have lunch or drink! How bout we meet at the Flag Ship later tonight?” She says, still using her slutty voice.
Finally having heard enough of her, I let go of Mathieu and slowly turn around. Trying to keep my composure, I keep my eyes fixed on her.
She still has that bitchy look, just like she did in high school. How did I ever become friends with her in the first place?
