"Everyone, retreat. Please prioritize the wounded" Dean said as he takes the front lines together with Samantha.
"Everyone barriers up"
"Those who know healing magic please tend to the injured. Those who can still fight protect everyone"
"Sam and I will take the front lines for now" Dean instructed.
"Light Destruction Magic: Photon Barrage" a wide range of light magic spells, several magic circles firing concentrated light in the form of a beam strikes down demons.
The beams were not enough to slay the demons so Samantha is the one finishing them off. Using her swords of ice, she slices the demons falling from the sky.
"They just keep on coming" Dean getting pissed.
His mana reserves are getting low so he removes his barrier and focuses all his remaining mana on offense.
Samantha is also getting tired. Her swing slowly loses power each hit. It must be tough for her to slay numerous.

Back at safe haven
Tyrone and the search party finally made it out of the safe haven.
"Max where should we start?" Tyrone asked.
"I cannot pin point the exact location but my senses are telling me to go back to the city" Maximus said.
"Well everyone, you heard him. To the city" Tyrone said as he takes the lead.
On their way there, Maximus sensed vibrations in the ground.
"Tay, someone is trapped in the rubble" Maximus said as he pointed out the spot.
Everyone unpacked their gears and slowly but surely started digging. They kept a slow and steady pace that already consumed their time.
"Max, we will be heading to the city. You stay here and assist the diggers" Tyrone said.
"No I'll join you" Maximus said with an eager epxression on his face.
"You know you can't"
"The debri is unstable and it would be difficult to extract the person out of it"
"With you here, it would bring the risk to a minimum" Tyrone said.
"I get it but" Maximus said with a weary expression on his face.
"Max listen, they need you here"
"If you are done here then you could come and follow us, right?"
"But now, there are people that need rescuing" Tyrone said as he patted Maximus' shoulder.
"Okay" Maximus said while looking at the ground.
After several minutes of packing Tyrone and the rest of the unoccupied men rush towards the city.
"I'm sorry Max" a thought inside Tyrone's head.

Dean and Samantha are tired but they remain in the front lines. Most of the mages are in standby since they are sustaining the barrier and only a handful of mages together with Dean and Samantha are on the offensive.
Their mana reserves are all getting low. Even the mages sustaining the barrier are all getting drained.
"Dean! the barriers are all down" a mage shouted.
Dean looked back and saw no barrier. The look on his face as demons flew past them were not so amusing.
Mages at the were all helpless and vulnerable. They all lack the strength to defend themselves so they end up injuring themselves. Dean can't handle anymore allies being injured so he immediately vacated his position and put up a barrier.
"Dean" mages reacted as they all looked at his with hope in their eyes
"No one is going to die in my watch" Dean said with a furious look on his eyes.
The battle rages on and the morale of the mages finally reaches its peak. Everyone are doing their best just to survive this onslaught but the real challenge finally arrived. Five class A demons entered the battlefield. Everyone's tired eyes all widened upon seeing those monster slowly advances.
"We are all going to die" a mage said as she loses all hope of surviving.
"You two bring her to the barrier"
"For the rest of you. Those who are still willing to fight stand your ground and wait for my command. Those who wants to turn tail you could follow them to the barrier" Samantha said with a furious voice.
It seems no one has the courage to fight beside her. She's all alone about to face five class A demons and the remaining demons they didn't finish earlier.
"This is it. Just like my father, my resolve will not falter"
"Even if this fight will cost me my life. I don't care. I just need to wear down these monsters so they land the finishing blow"
"I need to buy them time" Samantha said to herself.
She grasped her swords tight then charged in.
"If you are hearing me please lend me your strength father" Samantha said.
"Ice Destruction Magic: Freezing Field" Samantha said then the terrain turned into ice.
With her spell her mobility increased and the demon's mobility decreased. Some demons were turned into ice which she managed to shatter in one blow.
"That's right, come at me" Samantha said with a smug look on her face.
The thrill she is experiencing enticed her even more. Her heart is pounding non-stop and her sweat is like a continuous stream. Everyone was just looking at her while not batting an eye. The serious looks on her faces added to the tension Samantha is facing. One wrong move and it's all over for her.
"You can do it Samantha"
"I believe in you" Dean cheered at the back of his mind.
Everyone had these hesitant looks on their faces then suddenly this mage took the initiative to charge in. With lightning fast speed, he burst into the front lines.
"Lightning Destruction Magic: Roaring Thunder" the mage casted
This is a wide area lightning spell that only affects the desired targets. It unleashes a loud thundering roar that paralyzes the targets within the area of effect.
With that mage's spell the demons all stopped on their tracks giving Samantha time to breathe.
"You are not alone"
"You still have us" the mage said
Multiple elemental barrage shot to the sky striking the demons. The barrage continued for ages until everyone ran out of spells they could cast. Total devastation yet a Class A demon was left unscaved.
Everyone was left speechless seeing a demon still standing after they had given everything they have got.
The demon charges in with great haste and Samantha together with the other mage were left standing on the front lines.
They were petrified since they both poured everything they had.
"Sorry guys, but this is the end" Samantha said as she accepts her fate.
"Samantha no!" Dean shouted as he tries to ran the entire distance.
The demon was infront of them but Dean was so far behind.
"I can't reach them" Dean said as his eyes widened as the demons was about to step on them.
Then a huge wall of flames raise from the ground. The flames manage to stop the demon's persuit. Everyone all looked around looking for the mage that casted that spell. They all look agigated.
Numerous fire spell were then launched to the sky then striked down like a meteor shower. The spell was so orchastrated that it didn't hurt Samantha and the mage.
Clouds of dust covered the battlefield making it difficult to breathe and lowered the visibility.
After several minutes the dust cleared out and a group of people were standing on top of the demon.
"Who are they?" Samantha said as she tries to get good long look at them.
"You there! Are you alright?" a voice shouted.
"We are good!"
"Please help us! We have injured allies at the back" Samantha and the mage shouted in return.

Back at the rescue mission. Maximus and the group successfully extracted the survivor. They immediately applied healing water on his injuries. The man was awfully cooperative but he has this hesitant look on his face.
It was bothersome to see such an expression so the group asked him.
"What's the matter" they all asked in chorus
The man just stared at them with this worried look on his eyes.
"Go on, you could tell us" a student said as he grabs the man's shoulder.
The rest of the group also conforted him.
The emotional support they gave brought him back to his senses. Tears begun to pour from his eye.
"I just want to see my family" the man said sobbing.
"No worries, maybe your family is safe back at the zone"
"Yeah, so cheer up okay. You will see them again" the group said.
"How about we head back to the zone so we can all search together" another student suggested.
"Okay guys, those who wants to head back go ahead"
"I'll just go check on the others" Maximus said.
The group all decided to head back together with the survivor and Maximus head straight to the city.
"I wonder what the others are up to"
"It had been a while since we went on separate ways. I hope they are not in trouble of somesort" Maximus said
He then sensed the ground quacking which gave him bad vibes. The sensation came from the city so he was worried about the others.
