Dean turns her around and gives her a slap. Samantha immediately dropped into tears and hugged Dean.
“If only I was stronger, I could have saved them,” she said.
“There, there. Everything is going to be okay.”
“There’s no point in saving then now. We did everything we can to defend them, maybe God has a better plan for us.”
“You should take a rest so you can restore your mana and I’ll try getting them out” Dean said.
He assisted Samantha to the corner and let her sit there.
“Everyone steps back” Dean ordered then he started chanting.
A seal in a ground was formed.
“Light destruction magic: Purifying Light” Dean casted then an intense ray of light shined from the seal breaking all the ice.
“Earth mages make a grave for them” Dean said then he takes his leave.
Solomon tried tagging along but Dean said
“I need some alone time. I hope you understand.”
“Look out Samantha for me while I am gone.”
Dean distant himself from the crowd and started thinking.
“Looks like we are the only ones left here and the resources are getting pretty thin.”
“We should head to Metro and join their forces. Surely, we will have a better chance in surviving” Dean said to himself.
He started kicking a pebble as he walked straight. He looked around and saw the frozen buildings and streets. We took a quick detour to check it out.
He gives the ice a hard knock.
“It really is hard. Like diamond” Dean reacted
He roams around the streets to check out the other ices because they have different shades of color.
While walking Dean heard someone asking for help. It sounds close by. He immediately tracks where the voice is down and sees a kid trapped inside a house.
“Step back!” Dean shouted but the kid did not hear it, so he moved his hands signaling the kid to step back.
“Light destruction magic: Purifying Light” Dean casted the ray of light shined from his palms that shattered the ice.
Dean immediately breached the wall to set the kid free, but the wall was pushed towards him luckily Dean managed to keep his feet on the ground.
With concentrated light magic he blast the wall into bits
“You’re no fun!” the kids said then pouts.
“That pendant!” Dean reacted as he saw the kid wearing Commander’s pendant.
“Give it back! It doesn’t belong to you!” Dean said then he fires a beam of light.
Then a wall of earth rise that block his Dean’s attack
“Incredible” Dean reacted
Then the kid hurls numerous rocks at Dean. Dean summoned his gear that shot a ray of light to the sky. He then braces himself for whatever happens next.
“Light creation magic: Barrier of Light” Dean casted then light formed a shield in front of him.
Then suddenly the ground split which threw Dean off guard
“Continental Convergence” the kids casted making the ground collide with each other.
Dean was about to get rushed, but lightning came to save him.
“Thanks dude”
“I know you’d come,” Dean said.
“That pendant!” Solomon shouted and he seemed pissed.
“Chill dude”
“He knows his way around the earth spell.”
“I am fairly sure that we are not facing some ordinary kid. His spell cast is quick plus the power of his spells can be compared to our elite rank earth mages.”
“He even used one of Commander’s spells” Dean informed as he blocked Solomon with his arm.
“Two against one? I love it!” the kid excitedly shouts.
“Hey mister! Are you also going to play with me?” The kid asked as he was tingling with excitement.
“No” Solomon turns him down.
“Too bad you’re already trapped” The kid teased as he looks at Solomon and Dean’s feet
“How did he get me without me not noticing it?”
“Clearly this is just an illusion” thoughts inside Solomon's head.
“Continental Convergence” The kid was about to cast his spell then he heard someone shouted.
“That’s enough Mammon. You already did your part” it sounded like Ryzen’s voice.
“Looks like the boss is calling.”
“Laters mother fuckers” the kid said then he tunnels to the ground and swallows him.
Several seconds later the restrains were all lifted
The kid and the restraints were lifted.
“Why did you stop me?”
“You know I can take him down, no sweat!” Solomon seems pissed.
“Dude, that kid is no joke.”
“you saw me in a sorry state earlier, right? I am telling you that kid knows his way around earth magic” Dean said.
“Say all you want” Solomon said then he laughed sarcastically.
“Let’s just head back, this conversation is going nowhere,” Dean said.
“Agreed” Solomon said
They head back to the city’s central
Back at the city of Metro. The demons are nearly wiped out.
“Looks like that’s the last of them” Luis said as he slays the last demon at the northern gate.
“I am done here” Maximus said as he slays the demon in the southern gate.
With lightning-fast speed Ryzen’s squad burst to the eastern gate to go look for him but as soon as they got there a marksman informed them of what happened.
They were all devastated, especially Luis. He even made a tantrum, but Maximus and the knight restrained him.
“Let go.”
“I am still in the right mind,” Luis said.
Maximus and the knight slowly let go. As soon as their grips loosen Luis burst into the battlefield and single handedly wiped out the demons.
“Dang, who new Luis can beat the crap of those demons when he’s enhanced with lightning magic.”
“What more if he wields one of his own” Maximus said.
After several minutes Luis went back to his starting position
Everyone gave him a round of applause.
“Here” the knight said as he hands over a cloth.
Luis looked hesitant as the knight just handed it over to him and spoke.
“I know every after a fight Zen hands over a towel or something that you can use to wipe your blade clean.”
“So, use this.”
“Yeah dude even if he is no longer with us. He will remain here” Maximus said as points at Luis heart.
“So, cheer up okay.”
“Zen died fighting and there is no shame to that.”
“Remember that we are still here to support you” the healer said.
“Thanks guys,” Luis said.
“Yow, everything’s clear here how you guys hold it?” Luis asked using telepathy.
“Need your help here.”
“We are short men,” Mark shouted.
Then someone shouted in the background
Luis tried to fly away but it seems the spell is already worn out.
“Hurry, west gate isn’t holding much longer” Luis informed.
“Anyone who is near the west gate, respond immediately. I repeat, respond immediately” Luis informed using telepathy.
“Let’s go,” Luis ordered.
They all hurried to the west gate.
“Back up is coming, just hold on for a little bit more,” Mark informed me.
“Darn it they just keep on coming.”
“My body will give up on me any second” a thought inside Mark’s head as he took several deep breaths.
“We already lost one and the marksmen are out of ammo.”
“Only Cyrus is the one fighting in the frontlines,” Mark said.
“Lightning destruction magic: Zap” Mark casted then lightning struck behind Cyrus that cleared the demons.
“Cy! Run!” Mark shouted.
Cyrus immediately fell back. The demons started chasing him, but Mark teleported in front of their path.
“Thunderclap” Mark casted then a strong sound knocks the demons down.
That should buy us enough time” Mark said.
He started to run away but he could not. His legs cannot move. He started pounding it, but it only made matters even worse. He felt a prickling sensation that made him drop to the ground.
“No, Mark,” Cyrus shouted, then he hurried back to pick up the markup.
The two marksmen tag along as well.
“Why did you come back! Go!” Mark shouted.
“We can’t just leave our comrade.”
“Besides, we are all in this together, right?” Cyrus said.
They lifted him up and carried him then the demons managed to get back up.
“You guys go ahead,” Cyrus said as he drew out his sword.
“If we all run now, we could make it.”
“The backup should be closed by now” Mark said.
“The demons are fast pull we are all exhausted it would be too risky.”
“Go!” Cyrus shouted.
The marksmen gave him a serious look then they went on their way.
“Make sure to get out of there alive or I may kill you twice!” Mark shouted.
Cyrus gave a thumbs up then he intercepted the demons.
“May God protect you in this battle” Mark prayed.
“I wish I could Mark” Cyrus said
With everything he got he faced the demons head on. From time to time, he checks on Mark and the others if they are far enough. Several minutes have passed and he notices that they are not moving. He finds an opening then flees.
Then Mark and the others started running
“What the f**k! And now you decided to run!” Cyrus shouted.
Mark just gave him two thumbs up.
