Cyrus stopped then held off the demons once again. Mark and the marksmen stopped as well.
“Go!” Cyrus said.
Mark just laughed at him.
“Screw you!” Cyrus said then flees.
Mark and the marksmen flee as well.
“Why is the backup taking too long!” Mark shouted.
“Lightning destruction magic: Zap” Mark casted then lightning struck the demons, but it was not enough to kill it.
“Run Cy!” Mark cheered.
“LOL! You should have just fled.”
“Now you’re stuck in this mess” Cyrus ranted.
“Yeah, we all are, right from the start” a marksman said.
“We all know that you are just stalling so why not wait for you.”
“If we leave you there then you’ll die dumbass.”
“Besides, we are all in this together” the other marksman said.
“And that’s why we didn’t leave.”
“If we did that you would just give up all of a sudden.”
“You don’t need to sacrifice yourself for our behalf because we can get out of this mess together,” Mark said.
Cyrus was touched so he started crying. He suddenly feels light.
“I’ll be right back,” Cyrus said, then he stops and hides his sword.
He waited for the demons to get close. Once they entered the striking zone, he pulled out his sword that unleashed an icy wind freezing the demons.
With a satisfied smile on his face, he runs away.
“I didn’t know that you can use ice magic” Mark reacted.
“Neither did I”
“I just felt like doing it,” Cyrus said, then he started laughing.
“Wish you had done that sooner,” Mark said.
“Yeah, but I think it was just a one-time thing.”
“Like everything was just a fluke” Cyrus said.
“Here they come!” Mark shouted as the next batch of demons popped out.
Then gunshots were heard
“Finally,” the marksmen shouted in chorus.
“I’ll take the lead,” Luis said as he jumped over Mark.
“Sure,” Mark said telepathically.
Luis then faces the demons head on
“I think I’ll go fight alongside him,” Cyrus said.
“Then what are you doing here?” Maximus said then as drags Cyrus to the battlefield.
“Sorry for that” a knight apologizes.
“We will take it from here” students said as they carried Mark.
“Thanks! My back is killing me” a marksman said as he stretched.
Luis and the others are wiping out the demons at a fast rate.
“Let’s just wait for them to finish. I still want to enjoy watching the fight,” Mark said but his carriers continued walking.
Mark jumped off and landed on his feet. It seems he has the strength to stand up now.
“Look I am fine, no need to worry” Mark said.
“Damn you Mark!”
“You can stand up! Wish you did that sooner”.
“Don’t you know that you are way too heavy for us to carry!”
“Yeah! What he said” the marksmen ranted
Mark just sticks his tongue out then laughs at them.
“Yeah, wish I could. What they don’t know is that my feet cannot hold it any longer. I just have a strong resolve to manage my body to push past its limit plus I want to see if Cy can unleash his magic again” thoughts inside Mark’s head.
“Dude I know you’re just acting coz your legs are shaking.”
“You can sit down, you know,” one of the marksmen said.
“Really? You mean it” Mark said.
“Hey, we will watch over him.”
“Why not get us some ammos. Please” the other marksman said.
The students just gave a nod then went on their way.
“Dudes remember we are all in this together.”
“So, we also share the same burden and the same relief,” the marksman said.
“Boop”
“Boop,” Mark said as he fists bumps the two marksmen.
“What is your name fella’s? Mark asked.
“Darius,” one of the marksmen said.
“Vandol” the other marksman said.
“Nice to meet you two. I am Mark but you can call me master” Mark said then laughs.
“Just kidding.”
“Now let’s enjoy watching them fight” Mark said as he finds a decent place to sit
After clearing the demons all of them head to the safe zone.
“Sarah!” Mark shouted.
“Glad you made it all here alive” Sarah greeted.
“Guys tend the wounded!” Sarah ordered.
The medics immediately tend to the newly arrived students
“It’s safe to head back,” Luis announces.
The civilians were all weary
“Okay is there anyone that wants to go check the surface with us” Luis announced.
Then the kid that Sarah healed volunteered himself with a few others.
“We also lack resources. Do you think you can get us some?” Sarah said.
“Sure” Luis said
“Those who are well rested come with us,” Luis announced.
After several minutes of preparation Luis and his men took off
“How are you doin?” Mark asked Tyrone.
“Guess what Ty, Cy is an ice user”?
“He looks amazing as he pulls his sword and freezes the enemies just to protect us.”
“It was epic!” Mark exaggeratedly said.
“What happened to you anyway?” Mark asked.
“LOL, for a second there I thought you were concern about me” Tyrone teased
“Lightning destruction magic: Paralyzing Spark” Mark casted then electricity sparks in his hands
“Mark no! Mark!” Tyrone repeatedly shouted as Mark slowly approached him.
“You look like a baby that is about to cry. LOL” Mark teased then his hands reverted back to normal.
“How about facing me head on as soon as my mana regenerates.”
“That last fight surely did a number on me.”
“I don’t know why but I feel I have endless power, but it turns out, I can handle it” Tyrone ranted.
On the surface Luis and the others started roaming around. Parts of the city near the walls were devastated.
“Okay, split up and gather any necessities you can find,” Luis instructed.
The group split into four that went to different directions.
Luis and his group are heading to the academy then they see lightning keeps striking the same location.
“Everyone takes cover,” Luis ordered.
The group dispersed and hid behind walls.
They waited for several minutes but nothing happened. Luis then ran towards where the lightning struck several minutes ago. He left without even telling his group.
“Should we go after him?” a civilian asked.
“No, the mission always comes first.”
“Check all the establishments and carry as much as you can.”
“Prioritize the canned goods and bottled water,” a student said as he took charge.
“That was no ordinary lightning,” Luis said as he ran towards the academy.
He takes a shortcut by jumping over one establishment to the other.
“Ahhh! If only I still have that magic enhancement Ryzen casted” Luis ranted
At the academy, Draxx and Sora are clashing head on.
“Draxx I am telling you! I am still human!” Sora shouted but Draxx continued to put pressure on her.
“Why won’t you believe me!” Sora shouted.
“Human? Look at you! You’re a monster”
“A normal human doesn’t have a dark aura and sounds demonic.”
“Mariposa was right. I should have known” Draxx said.
“She isn’t right!”
“Who are you going to believe your childhood friend or the person you just met a few months ago!”
“I am telling you I still have full control over my body,” Sora explained.
“Just shut up!”
“For me, all demons are the same. You are all savage beasts that haunts us humans for livestock” Draxx said.
“How many times do I have to say that I am not a demon!” Sora said in a demonic voice.
“If you’re not, why do you keep on defending yourself?” Draxx said.
“Of course, dumbass. You’re attacking”
“What do you want me to do to dance in order to protect myself?” Sora said.
“Lightning Vortex” Draxx casted then swirling lightning traps Sora.
The vortex became tighter and tighter until it was too cramp for Sora and others to move.
“Whirlpool” Sora casted then swirling water rotated against the lightning vortex that Draxx casted.
“Kill me if you like but I won’t let you” Sora said as she stares at Drax
“My pleasure” Draxx shouted.
“Draxx if you’re able to hear me please set me free. I can’t take this anymore!” Sora said using telepathy.
“Sora!” Draxx shouted as he fell back.
“Save me Draxx! Save me!” Sora repeatedly said.
Then Sora started attacking him.
“f**k is she messing with me?”
“Do I really hear her voice or it’s sorcery?” Draxx said to himself.
Sora’s voice just continues asking for help and Draxx is getting tolerated with her voice.
“Just shut the f**k up!” Draxx shouted.
“So, it all boils down to this?”
“You really do hate me. What would I expect if you were only interested in my sister” Sora said, then her dark aura vanished and her sacred gear faded.
“Go on kill me.”
“There’s no point for me to stay in this world anyway. The people that appreciated me for who I am are already dead so there’s no point in living anymore” Sora seems down.
“Go on, Draxx , finish me off,” Sora said as she offered herself.
With lightning-fast speed Draxx teleported in front of Sora and gave her a hug
