Klive Brion POV.
It started about twenty minutes after my brother left. It started as a slight tingling around my wound. It gradually spread into my arms and abdomen. When my ass started to itch, I became concerned.
My wolf, Rhett, was also nervous. He wanted to be a better person for Emily. He did not mind the pain because of our friend. He only needed her.
She was depressed, and she tried to hide her tears almost the entire time I was with her.
When she was near me, I noticed her concerned expression. I despised that fearful and sorrowful expression. I was the one who should have made her happy, but she was unhappy.
The tingling in my legs persisted, and I became dizzy. I took Emily's hand in mine with the intention of making her the last person I touched in my life. My heart twisted with sadness as I saw tears running down her pink cheeks.
Rhett mentioned that the wound was healing.
Great, but it hurts like hell, I replied, almost passing out. The pain, on the other hand, was only in the back of my mind. It was as if something was impeding it. Even if it was not Rhett. He was fine, wagging his tail with a stupid grin on his face.
What is going on with me?
My lips were sealed and I could not speak. I was unable to move. My body refused to obey my commands. I was immobile. Pain, tingling, and itching were all too much for me.
A warm hand touched my left cheek. I recognised Emily. Without anything else, only her touch could set my body on fire. Immediately, all negative emotions subsided. It was all bearable.
"Please wait a moment. Your blood is visible to me. "There is no silver in it," she said quietly into my ear. Her warm breath brushed against my neck, and her sweet scent tickled my nose.
Oh, Goddess, please help me!
Emily retracted her hand from my face, leaving only emptiness. I was feeling chilly. I required her assistance. Please come back!
My entire body began to shake. It was only a slight tremble at first, but it worsened. My muscles twitched, and I had no control over my body. My chest was rapidly rising and falling. I felt like I was drowning because I could not catch my breath.
My heartbeat slowed after a few very long moments. On the one hand, I was on the verge of having a heart attack, and then nothing. My muscles stopped twitching, and the dizziness in my head subsided. In my mind, I saw my brother.
He was the one!!! He alleviated some of my suffering by suffering alongside me so that I could heal.
Fuck! What a moron!
..........
Matt's point of view.
I used to despise this stupid bond between me and my brother. We could not all use magic. Only women could do it. I was able to relocate myself and possibly others. We could only play with people's minds. There is nothing else.
How should I assist him?
I could feel his anguish. In my mind, my wolf was nervously pacing. I am experiencing the same emotions. He could not sit around and watch his brother suffer. So he did the stupidest thing he could think of. He took away Rhett's pain, and he had to live with the consequences. While my wolf whimpering in the back of my mind, barely holding himself together, I was fine.
Imbecile!
I saw Rhett wagging his tail in my brother's mind, but Brion was exhausted and ready to give up.
Shit! Not right now! Not now that it is finally working!
"f**k," I muttered to myself. The sweet doctor looked at me with puzzled green eyes. She liked my brother and was terrified that he might die. I was as well. Like my wolf, I needed to assist him.
"I am going to take some of his pain," I told her as I sat on the bed next to my brother.
She raised her brows in perplexity.
"Y-you think you can do that?" She stuttered, perplexed.
I made myself at ease by nodding slightly. This was going to be painful.
"It is risky," I said quietly, my gaze fixed on the ceiling. "I could be in pain while he gets better."
"What!? Do not do it! He is going to chew my head off!" She yelled, her voice shaking with fear.
I burst out laughing. She was adorable. Brion would never, ever do anything to her. She just did not realise it.
"I have to," I said, leaning against the bed with my elbows. "He is prepared to give up."
Her horrified expression confirmed my suspicion. To him, she was more than just a doctor. Brion did not want to leave her alone the way he was looking at her. He is found his soulmate. He was suppressing his emotions from me, primarily due to pain, but also possibly due to her.
Emily grabbed his hand roughly and squeezed it tightly. He exclaimed. Another indication that she was truly assisting him. He would not have made it that far without her. Whether he was a doctor or not, her presence made him stronger and more resilient. Silver poising for nearly fifteen hours.
Unbelievable.
"Emily," I called out, hoping to get her attention. She moved her green, tear-filled eyes slowly in my direction. "Tell him to look into my mind if something bad happens to me." He will comprehend."
"But I don't," she said quietly.
"It makes no difference."
I did not have time to educate her on supernatural hybrids and their abilities. My brother was losing the battle. It was my turn to repay the favour and save his behind for a change.
