Chapter 11

1180 Words
Klive Brion POV. Why is a hospital necessary? Hospitals have always bothered me. The odour of cleaning supplies, disinfection, and blood was overpowering. My sensitive nose ached. It felt almost physical. I examined my black sweatpants, white tee, and Nike sneakers. I was only wearing shorts a few moments ago. What the hell is going on? The hospital corridor was deserted. There were no doctors, nurses, or patients present. It was a deserted town. At least, that's what I imagined. I looked in every room, but no one was there. The place was completely deserted. When I heard it, I was on my way down the stairs to the next floor. A piercing scream cut through my ears. I turned around, terrified, after hearing someone in pain. I rushed through the door into the operating room, my heart racing. And there she was, covered in blood, lying on the bed in a blue hospital gown. She took deep breaths, her legs were spread, and I noticed her huge pregnant belly. What the f**k is going on? We did not share a bed. What makes this possible? Is this what the future holds? My train of thought was interrupted by another loud shriek from her dry lips. I quickly positioned myself next to her and took her hand in mine. Her green eyes were filled with pain and fear, and my heart almost leapt out of my chest. I was feeling sick. When she cried out, she squeezed my palm tightly. I saw a lot of blood coming from between her legs. I didn't know what else to do, so I dashed out into the hall, screaming like a lunatic, to get her some assistance. But no one showed up. There was no one around. We were by ourselves. Suddenly, there was a strange silence. There was no noise at all. I rushed back to her, dread in the pit of my stomach. She remained in the bed, but she was not breathing. Her beautiful eyes, which I had grown to adore since the first time I saw them, were lifeless and empty. The only sound in the room was blood dripping from the bed on which she lay. I couldn't move, not even a single step towards her. Her heart stopped beating, and her lungs refused to take in any more air. This was the final chapter. She passed away. I knelt on my knees, tears streaming down my cheeks. I couldn't protect her or save her. I had her to love, cherish, and protect, and I failed. What kind of man does it turn me into? What kind of Alpha are you? I couldn't care for Luna, my entire world. I approached her while still on my knees. I kissed her cold hand, touching her soft skin until I couldn't anymore. Without her, my entire existence was meaningless. There was no reason for me to live my life. I didn't notice a person approaching me because I was in a bad mood. Until the woman on the other side of the bed turned to look at my dead mate. My mother was her name. "You can save her," she said, her blue eyes shining with hope. "You just have to give up." "I already did." ******* Suddenly, I found myself in a park. I recall this location. In the southern corner, I kissed a girl for the first time. But I didn't care about the distant memory; I was preoccupied with the sight of my deceased comrade on the hospital bed. What am I doing here? Why is this all happening to me? She couldn't be dead, couldn't she? I took a look around. Everything was the same as it had been the last time I visited. In the middle of the park, there was a fountain with a statue of a kissing couple. Their hands poured water. Two small brown birds perched on their heads were staring at me. My vision was definitely playing tricks on me. They had no reason to keep an eye on me! Behind the fountain was a large field with trees and flowers, ideal for a romantic picnic or a leisurely stroll. Despite the fact that it was completely empty today. I took a few steps towards the nearest tree, and birds followed me. I gave them a puzzled look as I raised my brows. They were most likely bored by the park's lack of activity. I sat down under the tree and allowed the pain and grief in my heart to spread throughout my entire body. It hurt like hell. I felt as if I had just lost a piece of my soul, a piece of myself. How should I proceed with my life? Tears streamed down my cheeks, and my hands shook violently. I was having trouble breathing. I cried myself into a foetal position. Nothing was important anymore. My heart was shattered into a million pieces. I was befuddled. I was nothing without her. I heard voices from behind me after what seemed like an eternity. I stood up and wiped my brow. Nobody should ever see me like that. After all, I was the Alpha, and this was my domain. My breath caught in my throat as I stood up and looked around the tree. She was barefoot and dressed in a nice baby blue dress, her hair flying around her face. She turned around and called for help, a big smile on her face. A massive white wolf appeared in my side view, and my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. What?? Rhett? I followed them beneath the canopy of trees. He sat down and closed his eyes, resting his massive head in her lap. I could feel his emotions; he was overjoyed. I couldn't blame him; I would have been as well. Nonetheless, I was feeling jealous, albeit only for myself. However, how is this possible? We are all one. Why am I present if he is? I got closer and closer. I overheard her singing a song I didn't recognise while affectionately rubbing Rhett behind his ears. Her face lit up as she raised her head and looked at me. Like every time she smiled at me, my heart skipped a few beats, and butterflies appeared in my stomach. She was breathtaking. "Finally," she said, her grin widening, "we are waiting for you," she said, patting the spot next to her for me to join her. But that was not what I desired. I knelt in front of her, tears in my eyes. I couldn't take my eyes off her. So beautiful, so perfect, so alive. I caressed her cheeks with my hands, and she leaned into my touch. The air around us became thick. "You're alive," I said quietly, still perplexed by what had happened. "You rescued me. "You gave up," she replied, sparks in her eyes. I was at a loss for words. I would go to any length for her. I leaned in closer, and when our lips met, everything went black.
