Chapter 5

Jacqueline’s POV

After waking up, I felt so weak and the noise was very irritating to my ears and to make things worse I had a bad headache.

I walked up to the nurse at the front desk to ask for any pain killers and she handed it to me, so I went to the water dispenser that was quite close to the ward Drey was in, after taking the drugs I decided to just take a peek to see if he's still asleep, fortunately he was awake so I went in.

"I'm really glad you're okay now", I moved the chair closer to his bed to sit.

"Who did this to you, Drey?"

"Honestly I don't know Jacqueline it all happened so fast"

I had a feeling he wasn't being honest with me but I did not want to stress on further, so he gave me a number to call and ask the person to come down to the hospital as soon as possible.

After a while of sitting in silence cause I did not want to stress him by making him talk, the girl who came the other day to my workplace stepped into the room.

Drey was so weak, his voice was still a bit faint but luckily I could hear him.

"Jacqueline meet my sister Daniella, Daniella this is Jacqueline"

I shook her hands but was still in awe because they don't look alike one bit and she has this pretty polite smile that makes her eyes glow.

"So this is Jacqueline, it's so nice to meet you, I thought you were just someone in his dreams and you weren't real cause my brother here sleep talks sometimes," Daniella said joyfully

And I laughed so hard cause i know she was intentionally teasing her brother regardless of his present state just to lighten up his mood, now I turned to face Drey and this was the first time I'm seeing him embarrassed, maybe there's a bit of truth in what Daniella said, this realization made my terrible laugh increase. When I had had enough I got up saying "Let me leave you two for a while I'll come back later"

I went to the dispenser to get more water to drink, but I couldn't help but eavesdrop cause Daniella asked him the same question I asked earlier on and this time he opened up to her about it and told her

Drey: "It was one guy like that with his gang friends"

Daniella: "I thought none of your friends know that you're alive"

Drey: Honestly they don’t but this time they're not my friends the guy in person is Jacqueline's ex boyfriend, but who shot me was one of his friends, he felt like I'm the reason behind their break up, but you're not going to tell the police anything, I'd just tell them it all happened so fast i didn't see who shot me cause of the crowd.

Then everywhere went silent, and that silence definitely tells that Daniella agrees with him, but I'm just wondering why he doesn't want the help of the police and what Daniella meant by Drey's gang friends thinks he is dead, so Drey is in a gang or was in a gang, i'm so confused but since he doesn't want anyone to know I kept it to myself and went to sit with my bestfriend at the waiting room.

"My love you look pale, Is Drey awake now?", Tracy asked

"Yeah he's awake, he's with his sister, let's just give them a little time together", then Tracy nodded in agreement.

After a while Daniella came out, then told us she's going home to get some food but she'd need my help, so we both left leaving Tracy at the hospital.

Daniella had already ordered a ride before stepping out of Drey's ward cause the Uber ride was outside waiting for us. We passed my place to their place, then I remembered my grandma would be worried sick so as soon as I got to Drey's place I called her.

Gosh their house looks so good, what intrigued me was it was a blacked theme house it was giving a mafia vibe and what welcomed us almost left my mouth open, I knew Drey was rich cause of the car he drives, but I saw several luxurious cars properly parked and arranged, even their car park is bigger than my dining area at home. When I got myself back cause I was literally in awe I noticed Daniella was smiling at me.

Then I thought to myself why is the Uber ride entering the compound Why didn't we come out of the car, Then it dawned on me it's certainly one of their cars and their driver.

When we got out Daniella seemed very happy welcoming me into their home.

"Jacqueline welcome to our home, please feel comfortable"

Then we got in and went straight into the kitchen, Daniella became indecisive on what to make for her brother She was mentioning different delicacies but I know for a fact that he won't want to be choked with different food cause he's still in recovery.

"Why don't I make some hot soup then porridge just in case he wants something solid ?" I suggested

"That sounds nice let me call Bob to help us out," she said in response

"Who's Bob? Plus I don't think there's any need for him to help out though it's just soup and some porridge I think I can handle that" I said politely so I won't seem bossy.

"Bob helps us around the house most times, and are you sure you don't need help?"

"Yeah I'm sure," I said in response, Honestly I thought she'd be helping out with the cooking but she just kept me company and I'm glad she didn't cause I don't like cooking with someone.

After a while when the food was almost done, I called my grandma to tell her what happened and that I'm good.

After informing her she was still worried but glad that Drey is doing fine now. At this point the food was ready, Daniella gladly did the dishes and I packed food for myself, Drey, Daniella, and Tracy.

Bob drove us back to the hospital and Daniella took her and Tracy's food in and I carried the rest, which was for Drey and me.

"My love thank you so much, I was starving!!", Tracy exclaimed when I entered the ward

"At first I thought you guys brought food for just yourselves," Drey said afterwards

I just laughed cause my best friend couldn't wait any longer cause she was already eating.

"Drey, why didn't you eat what they served to patients in the hospital though?" I asked him cause it's part of the bill that is to be paid.

"I just wanted some homemade meal", he shrugged.

Drey was to stay at the hospital for a few days before going home, but he was very stubborn and refused to stay, I had to persuade him to stay for another day so the doctors could monitor his healing process.

We were all done eating and watching a rom-com movie. "Guysss I think I'd be going home now, but I'll come back later",

"Hey wait for me, I'd also have to get going too. Today is Saturday I have an evening shift", Tracy said

So my best friend and I left for my place cause she needed to take her stuff. As soon as we got to my place she greeted my grandma took her things and left She said she needed to sleep before she resumed work.

When Tracy left I just had a very long hot bath which was very relaxing, Then I dried up and put on my very comfortable fluffy pants with a singlet and I just lay on my bed still thinking about Drey and Daniella's conversation at the hospital. While trying to understand and take in all that has happened these past few hours from getting to know I was purposely ignored by my ex boyfriend to seeing him cheat at the party to me breaking up with him to Drey getting shot it was all too much for me, I began to drown myself in my tears.

My granny stepped into my room without knocking so I tried to quickly wipe my tears with my hands.

"Ohh my nieta what's wrong?" She asked already sitting by me in my bed.

"Your eyes look so swollen Jacqueline, Let's talk about what happened, I promise you'll feel better"

I still didn't respond and she continued

"I thought you said Drey is fine now"

"Yeah he is better now though", i said still facing the other side

"Nieta then what's wrong?, Or should I call Andrew to come over maybe you'd talk to him"

At this point I turned over to face her "Granny I broke up with him at the party"

"Ohh my poor baby," she said while pulling me into a hug.

"That boy isn't worth your tears, have you seen his nose?, I wonder how you were not struggling for air when you were with him"

I laughed this time cause I never expected my abuela to say that and I never knew she disliked the shape of his nose that much.

"Nieta you know you can't stay in your room all day, let's go watch a movie but not in the living room, let's use the movie theater. We hardly ever use it. I'd tell the helper to set it up"

"Okay Grandma, I love you so much"

"I love you too sweetheart" Then we both went to the movie room.

It didn't take much time to get the job done, so I let my granny pick what movie to watch.

Today is a Saturday and I'm glad I don't work today but unfortunately I have work tomorrow. I work three times a week, Monday, Thursday, and Sunday and I earn per hour, It's not much of an income but at least I don't sit at home all day.

I did not feel like working tomorrow so I called in to say I was sick, Afterwards, I kept my phone to continue watching the movie, my grandma was already fast asleep soon after I fell asleep too.

"Ughhhh what's that loud noise", Then I got to know it was my phone ringing, "Gosh I need to reduce the volume when I'm about to sleep"

I answered without even checking who called "Hello, who's this?"

"It's Andrew, Babe please can we meet up to talk"

"There's nothing to talk about and please don't call me babe or even call my line again"

"Wait please...."

I couldn't even wait for him to finish his statement I just hung up out of irritation and the fact that he could hurt Drey and want to come back to me. I can't believe he feels Drey is the reason behind our breakup, yeah Drey is hot as hell and a very caring friend but I have self-discipline, but what does he do he goes around being in other girls' panties....

"Nieta pause I don't want to hear that part," my granny said while laughing

"s**t I was thinking out loud again"

"How much of it did you hear and I thought you were sleeping"

"Well I'm glad I got up on time, but I did not hear everything."

" So he thinks you like Drey?" My abuela asked

I nodded in response.

"Well, I thought the same to be honest cause he turned himself into your chauffeur."

I watched the CCTV clips from the living room before you came home and..."

"Grandma!!!" I cut her short, "But why?"

She just shrugged "When I'm bored and tired of reading or watching a movie I just stare at the CCTV clips"

"Thank God I don't have that in my room"

Abuela just laughed

"My point is I saw how you guys were together and from what I saw you both did not feel like letting go..."

"Abuela pleasee" I pleaded while laughing, for her to stop cause it felt awkward hearing it from her.

The help came in "Mrs Woods, Miss Woods' dinner is ready" Then she left.

My granny got up "That's my cue nieta, so I can take my medication and sleep"

The movie had finished long ago, I think probably when we were asleep. Then I received another call and it was Daniella.

"Hi Jacqueline please I need a favour from you"

"Ohh okay I'm all ears," I said

"I don't know who else to ask, cause my so-called brother has no friends" Well, I knew that was kind of a lie cause of her conversation with her brother at the hospital but I just agreed to it

"I'd be traveling to meet our parents and it's really important, but I can't leave him alone with just Bob, I want a friend to be with him too," she said

"How many days are you gone for?"

"Just two, on Monday and Tuesday"

"Ohh Okayy no problem"

"Thank you so much, Jacqueline"

"It's nothing. Is Drey awake right now"

"Nahhh he's asleep"

"Oh okay tell him I said hi then"

"Sure no problem"

Then I hung up. Got up then went to eat.

After eating, I went to my abuela's room to tell her that I won't be at home on Monday and Tuesday.

"Grandma I'd be at Drey's place on Monday and Tuesday cause his sister is not going to be around"

"Where is so important that she has to leave her brother?"

"She mentioned something about it being very important that it's with her parents and I've already agreed". My abuela gave me this knowing smile,

"Grandma it's not really what you think," I said laughing and blushing. "I'm just being a good friend"

All she said was "sure" in response still giving that smile, and I left her room leaving her to rest, then I went up to my room to sleep.

Monday came by so fast, I just remembered I can't go to school cause I promised to be with Drey. I just packed a two-night outfit with another piece of clothing I'd wear during the day in my tote bag with my bathing bag filled with things I need and my roll-on.

I did not eat breakfast, just went down to greet my abuela, kissed her, and left.

On getting to Drey's place, I got a call from a number with no caller ID., I picked up but waited for the person to talk

"Babe please I'm sorry we need to talk"

"Andrew?!" "Really? Now it's calls with a hidden ID"

"I know I made a mistake just hear me out, I..."

"Hear you out? Sorry can't fix what you've done"

"I know it can't but my actions will, I promise to always make out time for you"

"Pleaseee I'm not even talking about that, you and your friends attacked Drey and shot him"

"How-how-how did you know?" He stuttered

"I saw everything that happened that night you almost killed someone, you're lucky I didn't turn you in when the cops were interrogating me", I had to lie about it.

"Who have you told about this?" Andrew asked

"No one"

"My love I'm sorry I was just upset and I thought you ended things with me cause of him, my friends at school say you guys come to school together and leave together."

"You're just insane Andrew, If you had time for me I won't be spending my time with him, and I did not cheat on you or anything but you I'm very sure you have been cheating since and I was very fortunate to catch you red-handed at the party"

"But babe I was very drunk"

"Ohh please I got drunk too and you didn't see me all over people I don't know or the so-called Drey you're jealous of."

"Jacqueline but you know it's you I love, this isn't the first time I'm exploring someone else while dating you so why can't you forgive me this time?"

"Andrew you're so pathetic, don't ever call my line ever again". Then I hung up and went inside.

Daniella welcomed me with a warm hug and a huge smile "Thank you for coming Jacqueline"

"It's nothing, Daniella"

"There's not much to do cause he can move freely, ohhh yeah he'd need help with his back when cleaning up cause he can't still take a proper bath since he's still pretty bandaged up and if his bandage gets dirty please change it to avoid the wound getting infected and as for food you cook good but if you're tired you can ask Bob to help you out"

I just nodded in agreement then she pulled me into a hug once more and left the house with Bob.

I wish I had asked her which was Drey's room before she left cause when I went upstairs I saw several rooms, and they all looked locked except one where the door was slightly open. I knocked on the door even though it was open. "Yeah come in"

I walked into a shirtless Drey with a huge bandage on his side trying to put on a sleeveless top, When he was done he turned around and caught me staring Then he just smirked "Even in pain I still look hot that's good to know"

I shook my head using my hand to slightly hit my forehead. Then I dropped my hands on my waist "good morning to you too" then we both smiled so hard.

Gosh, seeing him shirtless made me realize how long it's been since I was touched, I haven't had s*x but now I was longing for it from him but I just shoved that thought away cause that's not what I came to do.

"Where can I keep my bag?"

"Ummm how about my sister's room?", Then Drey led me out of his room to his sister's room but her door was locked and the other rooms would be dusty as hell.

"Let me ask the other to help clean one of these rooms for you," Drey said

But his room was far from the other room.

"There's no need cause these rooms are a bit far from your room and I came to take care of you, I don't want a situation where you'd be sleeping and you'd need something but I won't be there, I'll just sleep on the couch in your room"

He laughed at my response

"So you can easily keep staring at me right?"

"Dreyyy you're so full of yourself" Then I went back to his room to drop my bag. I took out my bathing bag and took it to his bathroom, his bathroom was unnecessarily big like his room cause why have a bathtub and also where to stand and shower, honestly I preferred the shower part cause it had a transparent glass covering it. By the time I got out of the bathroom, Drey had put my tote bag in his walk-in closet on the marble table that was there.

"Drey, have you eaten?"

"Yeah but not much", so I went into the kitchen to check what they had Luckily there was bread so I just made some egg sauce and tea then took it all upstairs.

Drey was once again shirtless and he was just in shorts, Now I'm wondering why he put on a shirt before, Anyway, we finished eating then Drey called someone to come take the plates we used down cause he didn't want me to, Now I'm so full and bored.

"Drey what should we do I'm bored"

"Okay let's watch a movie, have any suggestions?"

"No, any one you'll put will be fine"

Not too long after Bob came back and Drey asked him if he could prepare food for later and asked him to make do with what was available in the kitchen.

"How about your work" Drey asked out of the blue

"I called in sick yesterday, I'd call again today so I can get a week free"

"Thank you," Drey said looking at me this time.

"You're welcome", i said smiling politely

Then I placed a very soft pillow on my lap that was on the couch, Drey then placed his head on the pillow on my laps and laid on the couch, he wasn't laying on his back but on his side not the one with the bandage and he was facing my stomach instead of the Tv and I honestly liked it.

"Drey"

"Hmm"

"I remember what happened that night when I was drunk and you took me to the garden, what did you want to ask me before and please be honest"

"I overheard you and Andrew's breakup cause I wanted to get something from the kitchen, and he said something about you not giving him what he wants so he goes out to find it from other girls, What was he talking about? But if you don't want to answer it, it's honestly understandable" Drey responded

"Nahh it's fine I'm comfortable answering it. He was talking about s*x. I was skeptical about having s*x with him honestly, because I had the mindset that he just wanted s*x with me and he'd move on after, I did not want to regret my first time that's why. I don't know if you understand."

"Yeah I understand and I'm glad you didn't too"

I was confused why he was glad too but I just shrugged it off and asked him about the conversation he and his sister had at the hospital. His body tensed a bit when I brought it up but he just said "Jacqueline I honestly wish I could tell you why right now, but I promise I'm not a bad person and with time I'd let you know. But you trust that I’m not a bad person right?

I just nodded in response because I trust him, I've always felt this unexplainable ease with him.

This time he moved his head to look up at me and I was just staring and thinking if I should just do what was on my mind. His lips looked so tempting and I slightly bit the corner of my bottom lip trying not to kiss him there and then.

"Goshhh Jacqueline why bite your lips, you look so freaking beautiful" Drey said.

He got up from my lap to sit properly on the couch, still looking straight at me and I smiled knowing that biting my lips affects him. His hand found it's way to my cheek using his thumb to caress my lips before he kissed me, at first I was numb and glad I was sitting cause I felt so weak in my knees, i kissed him back and I could feel a smile grow on his lips, we both kissed for a while that felt like eternity and separated to grasp for air, then I leaned in again to kiss him and it felt so good, i carefully sat on him cause I did not want to hit his wound with my knee. His hands left my cheeks to the strap of my bra to remove it, my heart was beating so fast but he was very gentle and loving with his kiss and touch, I even helped by pulling my top and he removed my bra, now he just stares at them and me, then he proceeds to suck on my n*****s till they felt sore, it felt so good and I have never felt like this. When I was with Andrew he just tried to take off my skirt or shorts immediately but I never agreed to it.

Drey was already hard underneath me. He removed my button on my Jean shorts and tried to put his hands in, when he found it difficult he used is hands to lift me by my butt, so instead of sitting i was using my knee to support myself, he tried putting his hands in again but my Jean short was just to tight, it felt like he wanted to give up cause he didn't want to force me to take my shorts of so I did it anyway, now i was putting on a thong underneath and he just staring at me and he smiled saying "cute undies", I was honestly shy cause this particular underwear was very net like. I sat on him again and kissed him to keep his mouth shut, his hand caressed my bum and he smacked it so hard, it hurt but felt good at the same time, this time his hands raised me a bit using my knees to support myself on the couch then his fingers went in, i did not know when I let out a moan "f**k Jacqueline you're freaking wet"

Then we went to his bed "I promise I'd be gentle" he said and I just nodded cause I trusted him. When he took off his shorts it looked so huge, When he took off his boxers I was in awe I wasn't even staring at his face anymore.

His bedsheets were already changed into a new one so I jumped on the bed, Drey joined me and pulled me close to him but my back was facing him. I felt so calm, so comfortable, and happy after what had happened, Before I slept off I could feel him kissing my neck and he held me tight like he didn't want me to run away.
