JACQUELINE’S POV
Now I understand why Drey never celebrated his birthday since I’ve known him. I can't imagine how much pain he had to live with as a child.
“You know what after taking you to the hospital for them to check the wound properly, I'd love to show you something very special and beautiful”
I’ve never seen Drey cry and it hurts seeing him like this.
“Let's get going before Daniella comes back, and I’m driving,” I said, trying to be cheerful and lighten his mood.
“Drive..” Drey chuckles “You’re not driving my car, besides I've not even seen you drive before”
“I know how to drive Drey but I don't have a car to drive”
“So you have a driver’s license?”
“Drey, don't worry. We're not going to go far. Where are your keys?” I said with a grin on my face. But he just responded, “I'm not telling you.”
“Bob!!!” I shouted while leaving his room to ask Bob if the keys were kept with him.
After searching everywhere I could think of, I still could not find Bob. I wondered where he could be. While still looking for Bob, I heard Drey calling me. Then I turned to see him properly, and he was holding my phone.
“Here is your phone and also don't waste your time looking for Bob I’m with the key”, he said with a huge smile then he gave his car key to me.
So we went to where his car was parked and I was so excited to drive his car and we got in. This time I drove off.
Our first stop is the hospital. On the ride there it was calm and relaxing not that awkward silence but the soothing one. Drey and I both got out of the car and we got into the hospital together.
My phone was vibrating in my pocket because I had put it on silent mode earlier, so Drey went to the doctor alone, and I answered the phone call.
“Yeah? Hello?”
“Are you Jacqueline Woods?” a deep voice asked through the phone. Honestly, he sounded more like he growled at the end cause his voice was pretty deep and I could barely understand what he was saying.
“And who's asking?” I responded
But this person just laughed and hung up afterwards.
I was utterly confused. Maybe I’m being pranked by a child and this child had the guts to hide his caller ID. Ohh the nerve.
I waited for Drey at the front desk for a while before he came out to meet with me.
“You look really happy..” I said noticing his change in appearance but I couldn't seem to put a finger to point out what was different “Was it a female doctor or nurse that checked it out for you?” I asked but now I'm pouting my lips, but Drey just laughs and hugs me “It was a female doctor dollface, but you notice anything different” Now he hugs me even tighter.
“Drey you're breathtaking and I mean you're taking my breath away”
He just says Ohh and he releases me from his hug
“So you didn't notice anything different Dollface?”
At first, I was flustered by this new nickname but I just didn't say anything about it cause I liked it and I was still trying to figure out what was different. Now I’m examining him from head to toe and I'm still seeing nothing.
Ohhh his bandage, I didn't feel anything on his side when he hugged me.
Then he explained that the doctor said it's okay for him to remove the bandage now.
We then left the hospital for the next stop.
“Dollface I thought you said the place is not that far”
“It's not, we are almost there”
I drove for about fifteen minutes and I was already tired of being behind the wheel. Fortunately, we have arrived at our second destination.
“Dollface this place looks abandoned”
Well yeah, that's the point. I come here to think and be alone for a while sometimes and it helps a lot. Come let's go so I can show you my best spot.
We both got out of the car and I dragged Drey with me through some trees until we got to where there was a lake. The lake is still as beautiful as always, with the rays of sunlight reflecting off its surface and making it shimmer.
Drey sat on a huge flat rock, taking in the view, the cool breeze, and the calm, quiet atmosphere. Then he patted his lap signaling me to sit on him and I did just that. “The place is calm and beautiful just like you dollface” This sent shivers down my spine and I kissed him, reliving the spark I once felt with him. We both sat there kissing each other filled with passion and gently too, then we pulled away from the kiss and sat in silence enjoying the calm atmosphere lost in our own different thoughts. I wonder what he is thinking about. I was pulled out of my own thoughts by the sound of Drey’s phone ringing.
He answered the phone and his whole body tensed up.
“Drey what’s wrong?” I asked concerned
“I have to go home” was all he said.
