Calum’s POV
We broke through the trees of the pine forest onto a highway full of abandoned dusty vehicles. I watched Alora as she looked right then left. She turned left with the kids holding her hands and started running with them. We all turned left to follow her and I saw a town up ahead with a fancy looking hotel right as we were entering the area. I was more than thankful for that.
Roman was in and out of consciousness thanks to the morphine and the amount of pain he was in. He wasn’t heavy to carry, but we all needed to rest after the amount of stress we were just in. I was more than happy that we had found a safe place to sleep for the night and let Reid work on Roman.
