Chapter 10

Pandora's POV

I woke to the birds chirping. I had taken my smaller form after Alex had fallen asleep last night. I sat up and stretched. "Alex. Alex wake up!" I shook his arm. He groaned and opened his eyes. "We have to go home." I said.

He looked around. "I guess so. Ryu is probably worried."

"Not just Ryu. Lilly too."

"Lilly? Oh! Lillian. Yeah she's probably upset that we didn't come back."

I giggled and stood up, spinning. "I get to play! Yay!"

"Kanna?" I frowned a at Alex. "Oh right, sorry. Pandora."

"Yes Alex?"

"You remember your promise right?" He asked. I could see the concern all over his face. He was so easy to read.

"Yes, Alex. I remember. Can we go now? I want to play with Lilly."

He smiled at me and shifted. I climbed up and lightly kicked his sides, well, my lightly isn't exactly light to a wolf. He yelped, but took off toward the house.

We broke through the treeline to find Ryu jumping around with Lilly in their wolf forms. I leaped from Alex's back and landed on Ryu, giggling. He collapsed under the force of me landing on him. I jumped over to Lilly and picked her up.

Alex's POV

I watched the three of them play for a while until both Pandora and Lillian fell asleep on the grass in the sun.

"Alex, I have to tell you something." Ryu linked me. He was being used as a pillow.

"What is it?"

"I'm not exactly a living being. I'm a living weapon. Pandora's weapon to be exact." He was blunt and straight forward.

I stared at him and he stared back. "What do you mean, Ryu?" I looked at him, for any sign that he would be joking or lying, but he was telling the truth.

"You know what I mean. Lanna will be the only one to survive this battle. Kanna gave herself over to death after she met Lillian. I can feel that our bond is broken. The bond that remains with you as her mate is slowly breaking. It will be gone completely once you find your new mate. Lanna is my twin. She was born inside Kanna when I was born. She's timid and is going to need protection for you. Promise me that you will protect her."

I was is shock. I couldn't believe he was saying this! There was no way that he was a weapon. He's a living being!

"No. I'm not Alex. 'Flesh and blood of the warrior you are to protect. A weapon when the warrior will need it.' I am but a mere weapon to Pandora. She is my little sister, but I am her weapon. What she calls me, means nothing." He said.

I shook my head. "Not possible!" I shouted into the link. He never looked away from me. Not once. He never hesitated. He was telling the truth.

He sighed. "Alex, promise me that you will take care of Lillian and Lanna."

I shook my head. "I can't. I can't lose my Beta or my mate. I can't. I would break. Please don't talk like this. No one is going anywhere."

I saw his eyes soften. "Alex, my brother. Kanna and I never were meant to exist. Lillian was simply to keep you going. Lillian is your reason for living now."

"I will not take another mate. No. No one can replace Kanna. I will raise Lillian. I will take care of Lanna, but I will not move on to find another mate." I stated.

I closed the link and walked into the house. I couldn't keep looking at them, I was breaking. This hurt too much. Kanna is gone, Pandora is a warrior for something we have no idea of and Lanna, I've never even met the girl. How am I supposed to go on like this? I can't.

I caught the scent of vanilla and strawberries. I looked around to find a woman standing by the stairs. She was wearing a dark blue dress with the different phases of the moon on it. Her eyes were silver and her hair was bright red.

"Scarlet!" Vince yelled.

I bowed down to her. "Moon Goddess."

"Oh now you stop that Alexander. Stand up. I was your mate you know." She laughed.

I stood up and looked at her. She was very beautiful. Her skin was pale like a doll. She had a amazing figure. Her lips were a light pink and they looked so soft, I wanted to kiss them. I wanted more than to-- I shook my head.

"Vince stop that! That is not our mate anymore. She is our Goddess." I said out loud.

She giggled and came closer to me. I could feel Vince fighting to take control. She lightly touched my cheek. Her hands were very soft.

"Alexander, listen to me. You too Vince. Kanna has come with me. Pandora and Lanna are the only ones that remain. The bond you boys shared with Kanna is vanishing. Just like Ryu had told you. I've just recently discovered from my father that he created a weapon for Pandora. That weapon is Ryu. Whatever she needs him to be, he will become. Kanna has asked me to make sure that you both know that she loves you and she wants to know that you will move on. Please boys, don't just drift through life on her memory and the baby. Move on, give Lillian more siblings. " She moved her hand from my cheek and vanished. I fell to my knees in tears. I feel it, the bond I have with Kanna, it's breaking. Vince was howling as I cried out.

Ryu's POV

I could hear Alex screaming. Scarlet must have went to see him. It's finally hitting him that Kanna is gone. I wanted to howl along with my Alpha for the loss of his mate and for the loss of one of my sisters. Alex's screams became pure howls. I howled along with him. I knew it was going to wake the girls, but I had to. I was hurting with him.

Howls from around could be heard. The pack was coming back. They must have heard the pain of their Alpha. He lost his mate and they lost their Luna. The howls went on for a while, the girls didn't seem bothered by all the noise.

Alex's mom came up to me. "Ryu, may I take Lillian to her room?" I nodded. I knew she wouldn't be able to hear me if I tried to link her, she was a human after all. She gathered Lillian and took her inside. I watched over Pandora as she slept. I gently nuzzled my snout against her head. I heard some whispers around. I focused on them.

"Isn't that the vampire part of Kanna?"

"Yeah I think so. But, didn't Alpha just howl for her loss?"

"Maybe it was for something else?"

I opened my link to them. "Kanna is gone. Her and her wolf Scarlet left this world to live with the Moon Goddess. There are only two left inside this body here. Pandora, whom you see right now and Lanna. Lanna will only come out when Pandora is gone from this world as well. Lanna will be the only one to survive."

They looked at me as if I had gone insane, but they moved on quickly. No one in this pack other than Alex and I were going to know or even understand. Not until the time is right. Hopefully, that will be a while from now. I don't want Lillian to be so small during this battle.

I looked over at Pandora, she was slowly waking. She opened her eyes and looked around. "Big brother, where did Lilly go?" She looked sad that Lillian was no longer out here.

I looked at the house. Pandora understood what I meant. She climbed up onto my back. "I want to see Alex."

I took her in and found Alex asleep in his room. She went in and left me in the hall. I didn't listen in. No, that was something I don't want to hear anymore.

She came out a while later, but she didn't look very happy. I tilted my head. She hugged me tightly and cried. "He doesn't want me now that Kanna is gone." I whimpered and used my paw to pull her closer. "Ryu, I want to go. Take me somewhere. Somewhere away from here." I moved my paw and she climbed up. I could feel that her heart was broken. If she's heart broken, she won't fight. She'll just get herself killed.

I took her for a walk by the river. She was still so upset when she went to sleep in the cave by the river. I took that time to head back to the house and talk with Alex. I wanted to rip his arms off, but than he wouldn't be able to care for Lillian if I did.

I shifted and burst into his room. "Alex!" I yelled. He jumped and scowled as soon as he realized it was me.

"Go away." He growled.

"No. You have broken my little sister's heart. Doing that, you've just killed this whole pack. Lillian included. You have to go out there and fix this! Just because Kanna is gone, doesn't mean you push Pandora away! She loves you just as much as Kanna did!"

He growled again, using his Alpha voice. "Get out!"

"No! You get off that f*****g bed and go to my little sister! She won't fight if she's like this! I don't want to lose my niece because her father hurt a woman's feelings!" I growled back at him.

He stood up and pinned me to the wall. "Don't you dare! That vampire is not my mate! She means nothing to me!"

Him being an Alpha, meant I couldn't beat him in a fight. He was much stronger than me, but I wasn't giving up. I had something that he didn't, I had my wings. They would be strong enough to turn the tables. I growled at him as my wings protruded from my back. I quickly over powered him with my wings help. "You don't get to do this to her!" I punched him.

His nose began to bleed, but when he looked at me, he saw the tears in my eyes. "I feel it too Alex. I feel that Kanna is gone too, but we have to be strong. We have to keep going. We don't know when this battle is going to be here. We don't know anything." I leaned down putting my head on his chest and cried. I felt him start crying too. Our breathing was ragged and full of chokes and sobs.

"I'm sorry, Ryu. I'm so sorry." Alex cried.

"M-me too, Alex. I'm sorry too." I cried.
