Chapter 8

2190 Words
Alexander's POV I watched as she ran around the front yard. She's gotten all of her memories back, but it seems this vampire side of here is still just a little girl. Having Kanna meet our daughter was out of the question until she was back to being more like a werewolf. It seems that only when she's asleep, she goes back. This must be because of her journey. I sent Ryu to take Lillian to my parents. Now, it was just Kanna and I in this house. Kanna refuses to leave Ryu's room. She misses her brother. He's due back tomorrow, but she won't even listen to me about anything. I've tried to ask her what she wants to eat, but she just crosses her arms and pouts. She yells at me saying that she wants her big brother. I tell her when he's coming back, but she runs away screaming that he's left her behind for a new little sister. "Kanna! Stay away from the forest!" I yelled across the yard. "No! Big brother is coming!" She yelled back. This was new. She never said that before. I opened my link to Ryu. "Where are you?" "I'm putting Lillian down for a nap. Why do you ask?" "Kanna said that you are coming. I had to make sure." "No. I'm leaving first thing in the morning tomorrow." "Call her and tell her that. She's driving me insane!" I growled. He laughed. "Get your phone ready." I closed the link and a moment later, my phone was ringing in my pocket. "Hold on." I answered. "Kanna! Ryu is on the phone!" I yelled. She looked at me and squealed as she ran toward me. She snatched the phone from me. "Big brother!" She yelled. I used my wolf hearing to listen in. "Hi Kanna. Are you being a good girl?" "Yes big brother." She lied. "That's not what I've heard Kanna. You need to be a good girl for Alex. You know I'll be home tomorrow afternoon, so from now on, you be a good girl and listen to Alex. Okay?" She had a pout on her face. "But big brother, I miss you and I want you home now! I don't want Alex, I want Ryu!" She yelled. Not going to lie, hearing her say that hurt. She is my mate and she doesn't want me. I understand that this is her vampire side, but it doesn't stop the fact that her words hurt more than a rejection. "Kanna. You need to be a good girl or when I get home you are going to be grounded." I saw tears well up in her eyes. "B-but big brother." She cried. "No Kanna. I want you to promise me that you will be a good girl." "O-okay big brother. I p-promise." She said. He hung up the phone after that. Kanna looked right at me. "I'm sorry Alex. I haven't been a good girl for you." Her tears slipped down her cheeks. "Oh, my love." I pulled her into a hug. "It's okay. I know how you feel about Ryu being gone for a little while. I promised you that he was coming back, and now you know that he's coming back tomorrow afternoon right?" She nodded and snuggled into me. Her vampire side was very small. She was about the same size as a 10 year old. I sighed. "Come, let's go get some food in our bellies." I said, picking her up. She squealed and giggled. "Alex! Spin! Spin!" She giggled. I spun around a few times as she giggled more. I love this girl. "I can feel her." Vince finally spoke up for the first time in two years. I froze and furrowed my brow. "What do you mean?" "Scarlet! I feel Scarlet you stupid boy!" He growled. I looked down at Kanna. "Is something wrong Alex?" She tilted her head. I shook my head and smiled, leading her to the kitchen. "Are you sure Vince? There's no change in her." He growled and closed the link. I let out a sigh and turned to the fridge. "What would you like to eat Kanna?" "Some wild berries and an apple is fine." She said. I turned to face her. This was the Kanna I met that night in the city. I ran to her and hugged her tightly. "Kanna! My love!" I yelled. "Ouch! That hurt my ear. Alexander, why are you hugging me like you haven't seen me in years?" I was glad only Kanna and I were in the house. I began to cry. "Kanna, Kanna I'm so happy. You've come back to me. You're wolf side has come back to me." She held me as I cried, rubbing my back. "It's okay. Everything is okay." She whispered. I wiped my tears and stoop up. "Kanna, what do you remember?" I asked. I needed to know. I was praying that she knew everything that has happened. "I remember a lot. What are you getting at, Alexander?" She looked confused. "What is the date today?" "I don't pay attention to the date. Dates hardly mean anything to me. Alexander, tell me what you are getting so worked up about and asking me all these questions." "Your vampire side took over for two years. Our daughter. Out baby is two. For the last three weeks, your vampire side was out. She's a little girl no older than ten years. Kanna, you've missed so much. Ryu is my beta, I'm now Alpha and you are Luna. To protect everyone, I sent them away until you came back. You've been calling Ryu big brother. I-- I- "Tears rolled down my cheeks. I was so happy but so sad at the same time. I could see the shock on her face. Kanna didn't know anything after the night at the river. "Do you remember Dreakon?" "Yes. He told me that I was going to kill you and Ryu. If you are standing here and claiming that Ryu is your Beta, that means you two figured out a way to keep me from killing you. How? How did you do it?" "Deer and a little bit of our blood injected into them." I smiled lightly at her. This was the Kanna I fell in love with. This is my mate. "I killed animals? I drank their blood? Oh dear Goddess I think I'm going to be sick." She put her hand on her stomach. She turned and ran to the bathroom. Ryu's POV After hanging up the phone, I looked at little Lillian. "Mommy will be back to normal soon." I whispered and rubbed her hair softly. I sighed and left the room quietly. "Ryu, have you spoken to Alex lately?" Luke asked. "Yes actually. He said that Kanna told him that I was coming back. When I called her, she was still the same. Her vampire side is still very active." Luke nodded. "Let us know if you hear anything else from him?" I nodded and walked downstairs to the awaiting pack. I had called a meeting when Alex sent me away with Lillian. They were all seated in the living room. "Everyone, Thank you all for coming. I have an update. Some of you may not like it, others might." I paused and let that sink in. "Kanna has been awake for three weeks now. She's still more like a vampire than the Kanna we know. Her body and mind in this state or roughly the same as a ten year old little girl. Alpha Alex sent me here with Lillian because Kanna couldn't handle the shock of her having a child when in her mind, she is a child herself. I am asking you all to be a little more--" "SHE'S BACK!!" Alex linked me. I froze, blinking a few times. The pack was staring at me. "What do you mean, Alex?" I responded both in the link and out so the pack could hear me. "Kanna is back! The wolf side of her! My mate!" "Are you sure?" "Yes I'm sure! The vampire Kanna calls me Alex, the wolf Kanna calls me Alexander! Kanna is back!" "Are you sure it's not just a moment? You know, wolf Kanna for a few minutes then vampire Kanna takes over again." I saw hope in some of the pack's eyes, but others were fearful. "She's been in the bathroom throwing up all the blood and raw meat she eaten, for twenty minutes now. Vince said he can't feel vampire Kanna anywhere." "I trust you Alpha. When do you think the pack can return to the territory?" "I give it a couple of days. Ryu, come back with Lillian. Kanna is asking for her." "With all respect Alpha, I don't think Kanna is ready to meet her daughter yet. To what you told me, she's only been back for roughly twenty-five minutes." "Ryu." Alex growled. Even in the mind link, I can feel his Alpha aura. I whimpered and lowered my head. "Yes, Alpha. As you ask." He closed the link. "Alright everyone, in a couple days, I will let you know if we can go back to the territory. Alpha has requested that I go back with Lillian. Please behave yourselves and remember, we are only guests on this land. If the Alpha of these lands asks you do help out, you do it." I turned and headed back to Lillian. She was awake with those beautiful with her one eye ice blue and the other bright green. "Uncle!" She smiled at me. She was very smart for only being two. "Hi Lillian. Are you ready to go see Mommy?" I didn't really need to ask. She's been asking since she learned a few words. Her smile was adorable and I picked her up and snuggled her. "Lillian, I need to shift. Do you think you could hold onto my fur while I run?" "Yes Uncle." I smiled at her and put her down. As soon as I shifted, I laid down for her to get on. "Uncle take me to Mommy." I took off with Lillian holding tight on my fur. I didn't care much for the pain. It just let me know that she was still there holding on. Kanna's POV "Alexander, where are they? I want to see my daughter." I paced back and forth on the front deck. "They will be here soon. I promise." He said. He tried to stop my pacing a few times, but it didn't work. I had missed two years of my daughter's life. I don't want to miss another second. I sighed and removed my dress, shifting as I jumped off the deck. I tilted my head back in a howl. I called for Ryu. I hoped he was respond. I howled again and again until I finally heard a responce from not only him, but a smaller howl sounding like a child. I yipped happily and ran off toward the howls. I was fast enough that I got to him in just a few moments. "Kanna!" Ryu linked me. My tail was wagging like crazy as I nuzzled him. "Where is she?" He turned enough for me to see a small girl with one ice blue eye and one bright green eye. Her golden hair shone like the sun. I didn't think my tail could wag any harder than it already was. "Mommy!" She jumped off Ryu's back and onto mine. "Mommy! I happy you awake! We play now?" I yipped happily. Ryu gave my shoulder a nudge to get me walking toward the house. If front of the house I shifted and put my dress back on. "Lillian." I said. Trying her name for the first time. Alexander had told me that because I wasn't myself, he had to name her. He named her Lillian Rae Williams. I loved the name Rae. It fit perfectly to my little girl. I was told that when I gave birth to her, her wings were out and broken. I can see now that her wings are fully healed and strong. "Mommy?" She looked at me. I didn't realize that I was crying until she reached up and wiped my tears away. "No cry Mommy. Lillian here." I pulled her into a hug and kisses her little chubby cheek. "I love you my little Lillian." I whispered to her. She giggled. When she smiled at me, I could see her vampire fangs. "She was born like that. Same with her wings and her little pointed ears." Alexander moved her hair for me to see her ears. "That doesn't change a thing. I love her no matter what." "Mommy! I wait for you to wake up to show you!" She smiled and shifted. Alexander gasped at the same time Ryu did. I smiled. Her fur was white with black spots all over her. She almost looked like a Dalmatian. "That's not normal!" Alexander said. I could hear the worry in his voice. "I'm not normal." I retorted. "She must get it from me." I smiled at her. Lillian took off to the grass. I laughed and shifted following her. We ran round the front yard playing for a while. I couldn't help be feel like I was being watched. Not by Ryu or Alexander either.
