The Unknown Of What I Am

Chapter 13

Alex's POV

I must have fallen sleep in my chair. I opened my eyes. I hoped they had woke up, but no. They were still asleep. The nurse had come and put them on heart monitors. Ryu had an IV and Pandora had a feeding tube going into her stomach from her nose. Nurse Hope wanted to make sure they were still alive. Their hearts beeping on the machines were the only thing keeping me going.

Lillian had come in every morning and night to see them for the passed three months. She would sit between them and tell them how she was and how everything in the pack was going. When she really missed them, she would sneak in here at night and sleep between them. She's very adorable and I love her very much, but I hate it when she's so upset. A lot of the time, I hear her crying in her room. She locks everyone out of her room and cries. Today was one of those days. She locked her door and I could hear her crying.

"Lillian, please open the door."

"No! Go away, Daddy!"

"Lillian, please."

"NO!" I could hear something hit the door. She must have thrown one of her toys at the door.

"I'll be here if you want to talk, baby. Daddy is always going to be here for you." I left her door. heading back to my room. I opened my door to find Pandora holding a sword and Wolfram standing next to her.

"That f*****g beeping was driving me insane!" She yelled.

I smiled. They were awake. I couldn't care less about the fact that she destroyed them. I ran up to her and hugged her tightly. I couldn't get any words out. I was crying. I felt her hand off the sword to Wolfram.

"Get this damn thing out of my nose, Alex." It seemed like Nurse Hope knows when her patients are awake.

"Sit." She ordered Pandora and Ryu to sit on the bed. They followed her orders. "Ryu, arm." Nurse Hope sounded pissed. I mean, if her voice didn't tell you, the way she ripped the IV out of Ryu's arm was enough for anyone to know. She moved on to and angry looking Pandora.

"Don't touch me." Pandora hissed. Nurse Hope growled at her and grabbed to tube. I saw Pandora's claws extend.

"Nurse Hope, please stop." I used my alpha voice on her and she froze. I stepped forward and took the tube from her. "I don't want there to be a fight in my room. I'll do it." Nurse Hope huffed and left my room.

"Bitch." Ryu growled holding his arm where the IV was.

"If I knew she was going to rip that out of your arm like that, I wouldn't have let her do it!" Pandora hissed.

"She's mad because you two ruined her medical stuff." I said. They huffed at the same time. I sighed and gently took Pandora's chin in my hand. "Let's get that out." I slowly pulled out the tube. She had tears in her eyes and when the last bit of the tube was about to come out, she gagged and threw up. That caused the rest of the tube to come out through her mouth.

"Ew." She said. There was now blood vomit all over my pants and feet.

I sighed. "This might make you throw up again." I had to pull the tube through her nose still, which meant that it had to go back through her mouth to come out her nose.

I was right, as soon as the end of the tube hit the back of her throat, she threw up again. She had vomit, snot and tears running down her face. "That's f*****g disgusting." I said once her vomiting was over.

"I know. I'm sorry. If there was an easier way, I would have done it."

"How was that stupid nurse going to pull her tube out? Don't tell me that she was going to be ruthless about it." Ryu said.

I shrugged. "I don't know, nor do I want to know. What she did to you was unacceptable as it is." I handed Pandora a towel to clean up her face as I started cleaning the vomit on the floor. My door clicked open, I turned to see who was coming in without knocking. I was going to yell, but I saw that it was Lillian. She ran right to Pandora.

"Mommy!" She cried.

Pandora's POV

I couldn't help but smile at Lilly. She name not be my baby, but she was still born from this body. I still felt the bond to her. "Lilly! My baby!" She ran to me and hugged me. I picked her up and snuggled her in my lap.

"Mommy! I missed you so much!" She had grown. I didn't know how long I had been asleep for, but Lilly was growing fast.

"I missed you too, baby." She smiled at my and moved on to Ryu. I handed her off and helped Alex in cleaning up my vomit. "How long have we been asleep?" I whispered.

"Three months. You made it to the treeline and collapsed, Since then you've been asleep. You and Ryu both."

"I need you to give me a report." He looked up at me with my suddenly serious tone.

"About what?"

"Any shadow movements? Demon movements? Patrol going out and not coming back?"

His expression darkened. "Six pack members have vanished when they went for patrol. Rogues are taking advantage of that and getting into the territory. Demons have been taunting us at the boarders. At night, they get closer to the house. It seemed like they knew that you were asleep."

I nodded. "Ryu, we must fight and finish this once and for all. We must go to the kings land and kill him."

"No. Draw him out. He has less power here than in his own lands. You know this, little sister."

"Right. How do I draw him out? He's smarter than I am."

He smiled. "An offer for a deal." I looked at him.

"That's a very risky move, and there is a very high possibility that he won't take the bait."

"Mommy, girls like me." Lilly said. She was listening in to the whole conversation.

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

She smiled and pointed to her eyes. "I heard some of them say that their king likes girls like me. He likes different eyes in girls. My blue and green eyes can draw their king out. I can be the bait."

"NO!" Everyone yelled.

"Oh stop being stubborn adults! If I can help I will. If you don't let me, I'll just do it behind your back!" Lilly yelled. She was completely serious about this and she wasn't taking no for an answer. I didn't like this. I don't want my baby in this battle. This was my fight that I had to do alone. I am not up for using my daughter as bait either! I hissed in frustration. "Mommy, I'm the only way you are going to get him off his land. Daddy will be with me too. Daddy has a part to play in this plan I have in my head."

I looked at her. "You have a plan?" I asked. She nodded her little head and smiled. "Alright, I'll hear out the plan, but if I don't like it or it's too risky, I'm putting a stop to it. Am I clear Lillian?" She knew I was serious. I never used her full name. I always called her Lilly.

She nodded and took a deep breath. "Daddy has to summon him. He has to act as if he doesn't want me and that he wants to make a deal. He's going to offer me as payment for what he wants." She paused looking right at Alex. "You are going to ask for riches and offer me as payment." She turned back to me. "When the kings guard is down, you and Wolfram come and kill him. You will need a long reach weapon. A long sword should do."

"I can't do a long sword. I wasn't made like that plus, Pandora doesn't have training with that." Ryu said.

"I can use a scythe. It's a long reach weapon and I have training for it."

"That will work. Daddy, you have to be convincing." We all looked at Alex. I felt better knowing that he was going to be there with her, but as much as I didn't like it, I had to. I needed the help.

He growled and paced around for a few minutes. "I don't think he's going to bite on this plan." Ryu whispered to me. I giggled and the wolf pun. "Yes, pun intended." I giggled more pulling Alex out of his thoughts.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, love. I told a joke." Ryu said. Lilly and I were laughing too much to give him an answer. Alex shrugged and went back to his pacing and thinking. He paced a while longer.

"No wonder his paws get hurt when he goes for a run." I said. Lilly giggled.

"Okay. I've thought about it." Alex finally stopped pacing.

"And?" Lilly asked.

"I'll do it." He left it open. Lilly circled her hand for him to get on with it. "But, you are to hold my hand at all times. Now, how should we play this out?"

"First, we need this room to have more space and the blinds to be closed." She hoped down off of Ryu's lap. "Stand the bed against that wall and move the dressers out of the way. I'll go get Grandpa." She said and took off.

"Alright boys, we have rearranging to do." I walked over to the dressers and began pushing them out of the way and into the huge walk in closet as the boys lifted and moved the bed to stand against the wall.

We had just finished when Lilly came back with Luke. "What is all this about Lillian?" Luke asked.

"Need to know basis. Stand here please." She left Luke in the middle of the room and pulled Alex to stand a few feet away from him. "Mommy, get your scythe out." She said.

I looked at Ryu. "Weapon, I call on thee. Become my scythe." I held out my hand as Ryu and Wolfie separated. I held my scythe.

"Get on Wolfie. Now, Daddy, you are going to tell the demon king that you are willing to make a deal for riches and as payment, you will be giving him me."

"What?! You better not be doing so! Boy I will kick your ass if you sell her to a demon! Them things don't keep their word!" Luke yelled and I laughed.

"Grandpa! Shush and play along!" Lilly yelled. Luke calmed instantly. Lilly was an Alpha and everyone could tell. "Now, while Daddy and I have him busy, Mommy you and Wolfie come in for the kill as quiet as you can without getting notice by any other demon that may be there. Let's start now."

"Demon King. I have summoned you to offer you a deal." Alex said.

"What could you want?" Luke was playing along.

"I want riches."

"What do you intend to throw into this bargain for my gain?"

"This child I have here." He indicated Lilly. Luke looked at Lilly.

"Why would I want a child?"

"I heard that you like girls with different eye colors. This child had one blue eye and one green eye."

"Indeed I do." Lilly gave me the signal that shows that he was completely distracted. I lightly tapped Wolfie's sides and sneaked up behind Luke silently. I raised my scythe and swung it down, stopping centimetres away from his neck. Luke gasped at how close I was to killing him.

"Perfect. As long as no one messes up or gives anything away the this is a trap." Lilly handed her father a paper. "Don't read it until we get there. We are going now."

"Oh no we aren't. Practice is one thing but, if I'm going to do this, I want a big, fresh, warm glass of bear blood. Has more protein. Wolfie is going to need the meat too." I said.

Lilly growled. "Fine. Eat then we go." She walked out of the room and stood in the hall. "Hunters!!" She screamed. Within seconds, they were in their wolf forms lined up in rows of two, standing in front of Lilly. I lightly put my hand on her head.

"You are going to be one hell of an Alpha when you grow up, my darling girl." I said.

"Mommy wants a bear to eat. Wolfie wants the meat. Bring it." They took off without a yip or growl in protest. I laughed and picked her up.

I love my baby, but she's growing too fast. I guess that's what Alphas do. I sighed and hugged her. "I love you Lilly but, stop growing up so fast. I haven't even gotten a chance to enjoy you as a baby or toddler yet."

"I love you too Mommy, but that's not my fault." I laughed and she joined in.

It was about an hour before they came back with a bear. They were forcing it toward the house. My stomach growled, or it was Wolfie who growled. I wouldn't know. I handed Alex my scythe and followed Wolfie who had taken off toward the bear. "Away hunters." I hissed and my eyes started to glow.

They scattered as the bear froze in fear. "You are going to help us bear. Either you go to sleep now and die in peace, or die in agony. Pick one." It laid down and went to sleep quickly. I sunk my fangs into its neck. I felt it tense at my bite, but as I drank, it began to slip away. Once I drank it dry, I let go for Wolfie to tear at it. He was just as hungry as I was. He ate about half the bear before he was full. I walked back to Alex who was eating a turkey leg. "You need to get a change of clothes." I said.

He pointed at a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. "Got it." He said around a mouthful. I smiled at Lilly what was munching on some turkey breast.

When everyone was ready to go, it was dusk. "Alright everyone. Let's go." As planned , Alex and Lilly went first. I counted to 25 and then kicked Wolfie's sides. I made sure that we wouldn't pass Alex. This was the only way that this plan would work. I made Wolfie turn slightly to the right.

We got to a clearing and I could see Alex and Lilly about twenty feet away. I kept to the shadows and watched. Alex was dressed and holding Lilly's hand.

"Demon king, I summon thee to make a deal." I heard Alex say. A black whole looking thing opened up in front of them and a tall man with blonde hair stepped out of it.
