Chapter 2That night we had band practice. We marched outside for an hour. Sometimes the other band members would get a break from playing, but even when there were no songs playing, the drummers still played a cadence, so we worked non-stop the entire time. Which wasn’t bad. I was used to it by now.
For the second hour, hot and sweaty, we came inside and practiced more music for the upcoming parade. We were only going to be practicing two nights a week now that school had started, Mondays and Wednesdays. For now we were just practicing for parades, but soon we’d also be practicing for football games.
