Chapter 3I felt much more confident talking to Becca than I had before, now that my mission was clear in my mind. The next day I told her and anyone else who would listen that Mark and I were a couple, but now I pursued Becca more strongly.
“Do you want a ride home today?” I asked her in Nutrition. “I’m going to be sitting with Mark at lunch, so I thought I’d go ahead and ask you now.”
“Yeah, sure,” she said.
“Meet me by the band room after school.”
