CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

1162 Words
Mulenga got up from the fireplace and began pacing, tapping his foot loudly. “Where the hell are these two?” He complained. Alinani swung, looked at Mulenga, then turned back again. “Who knows what those frogs are doing to our alpha,” he sighed. “Relax man,” Alinani finally said. “Relax. We don’t have time to relax, ok?” “Well, get Charles without Siobhan and his demon friend, then you will see what they do to you.” “But they are just taking too long to come back.” “They will be here, man, just relax in the meantime. Better off start preparing, we are going for a rough ride,” Alinani said suggestively. “You think you don’t need training yourself?” he asked, getting up. “Of course I don’t require training I haven’t you seen me in fighting mode?” “Please. You stood no chance against the mother frog so don’t boost yourself up.” “Then let me show you how good I’m Mulenga,” Alinani also stood up. They moved to the center of the camp and both of them tapped their wood powers. The wizards and witches got out of their tents and surrounded Mulenga and Alinani. They began cheering, the ones on Alinani’s side were shouting his name even the girl he winked at earlier. The one’s on Mulenga’s side cheered for Mulenga. They went running towards each other as Alinani threw a punch but missed, then Mulenga’s clew fist met with Alinani’s ribs. The two carried on training for almost an hour, then Siobhan and Amell showed up. The wizards and witches left to go in their tents while others carried on with their work. Leaving Mulenga and Alinani at the center of the tent. They transformed back into human form. “Couldn’t you have transformed while in your tents or somewhere private?” Siobhan asked, standing five feet from them. “Wolves,” was all Amell said. ********** “We are about to reach a checkpoint. Put on your disguise,” Sebastian said. Trevor took a fake mustache, put some glue on it, and stuck it on top of his mouth. That was going to hate when removing it. He took grey contact lenses and wore them. A pair of glasses and a hat. “Perfect, let us just hope they suspect nothing,” Sebastian continued. “You know they are looking for you as well, right? You are my friend, so disguise yourself, man,” Trevor said, using his fake voice. Sebastian took a scarf and wrapped it around his neck. A cowboy hat and black glasses. “We are here. Voice change activated,” Trevor said in his unfamiliar voice. “Yeah,” Sebastian agreed in his unfamiliar voice as well. They reached the police and packed the car. Sebastian lowered the window and a black tall police officer came and lowered his head. “Afternoon sir?” Trevor spoke. “Afternoon,” the police officer oozed. “How is your day going, sir?” Sebastian asked. “Well, it’s a sunny day, but overall I’m good. Can I see your driver’s license, please?” He added. Sebastian looked at the dashboard, then started checking his pockets. He felt his driver’s license card but didn’t get it out. “Sir, I think I forgot it home,” he said in a low tone. “But, sir, how can you forget your license? We have a killer on the loose,” the police officer spoke. Trevor wanted to retort, but Sebastian touched his hand and stopped him. “We know, sir, the man is cold-hearted as ice,” Sebastian said. “I swear I’m gonna kill you,” Trevor whispered for only Sebastian to listen. “Did you say anything, sir?” the officer asked. “Oh, no,” Trevor replied. “Alright, and Mr..” “Sebastian,” Sebastian spoke. “Yes, Mr. Sebastian, never forget your license or you will not find an officer who is understanding.” “Thanks, man,” Sebastian took his wallet. The police officer wet his lips as if he knew what was coming out of the wallet. “You can buy a drink it’s boiling,” Sebastian gave a hundred kwacha to Trevor, who gave it to the police officer. “Thanks, sir.” “Officer, before you go,” Trevor called out, and the office came. “We will come back in an hour or two. So since you know our situation, it will be good if we found you instead of explaining again,” Trevor spoke. “Sure, I will be here till evening,” the police officer replied. “Good, and we hope you catch that cold-hearted man,” Sebastian said, grinning at Trevor. “I hope so to sir,” the police officer said and went away. Sebastian started the engine and drove away. “They catch the cold-hearted man, eh,” Trevor spoke. “Well, we had to make him our friend. And talking about his work is the best way to do that,” Sebastian replied, using his fake voice. “You don’t have to use that voice with me, asshole.” “I’m into character,” Sebastian replied. “Please. You failed to do a play in sixth grade,” Trevor grinned. “I was sick that week man,” Sebastian’s mouth stretched from ear to ear. “Oh, really?” “Yeah, my stomach was paining so much that week.” “Sebastian, I was your friend, and I was the one who lied to our teacher that your stomach was in pain, idiot.” “Oh, I totally forgot about that.” “Ass,” that was all Trevor managed to say and they bust out laughing, remembering old times. ********** “So you are saying the frogs have taken Charles?” Siobhan asked, sitting at the fireplace. “Yes Siobhan,” Mulenga replied. “So it has taken him to frogsta swamp,” Amell spoke. “The what now?” Alinani asked. “So you two don’t know what they call that place?” Amell asked, surprisingly. “The name doesn’t matter. We have to rescue my alpha. And Siobhan, me and Mulenga can’t enter that place on our own, so we need your help. And Amell, you can come in hand,” Mulenga spoke. “Then let us go. I enjoy Charles’s company. We have to rescue him at any cost. Hope you two trained as much? Those frogs can be ferocious sometimes?” Siobhan asked. “Yeah, we did,” Alinani replied.
