CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

1158 Words
After driving for almost an hour, they reached Sebastian’s house. Trevor got out, opened the gate, and Sebastian drove the car inside. He jumped out of the car and they went into the house. The house was messed up; the walls filled with cracks; TV broken. Couches everywhere all in all, the house looked like a war just took place inside. “Where do we start?” Trevor asked. “In my room,” Sebastian replied. They climbed the stairs and went straight to Sebastian’s room. Sebastian went straight to check in the closet while Trevor checked in the dowels. They threw the clothes all over the floor with their search; the bed flipped, still nothing. After searching the room for almost thirty minutes, Sebastian went and sat on the now flipped bed and covered his face using his hand. Presumably not wanting Trevor to see that he was crying. Trevor went over and sat beside Sebastian, patting him on his shoulders. “Is this the only room the ring could be?” Trevor asked. “I think so,” Sebastian answered, voice cracked. “Then let us search in other rooms and downstairs, just in case you dropped it during the fight,” Trevor suggested. “Yeah, let us go.” They got up and left the room. They went to every room upstairs but found nothing. Then they went downstairs, started scrambling through the mess. Sebastian cut his finger, but was too busy with the search to notice it. They carried on searching for the next hour, still no sign of the ring. “Are you sure you left the ring here?” Trevor asked, but made sure his voice was as low as possible not to offend him. “Not really, but should have been here if I’m not having it,” he replied. “Anyway, what does it really do that you fear?” Sebastian went and sat on the only good-looking couch. “Not only can it make whoever wears it immortal, it will mess with his head or something turning them evil.” “Damn. So that is the reason you never wore it?” “Exactly,” he took a deep breath as he noticed, “Wait, where is Robert?” he stood up. “I’m not following,” Trevor said. Sebastian went to assess where they left Robert. He lifted some pieces of the couch, just in case he was buried there. Trevor was just following him, puzzled. “Are you gonna tell me what the hell is going on?” Trevor asked. “We left Robert here. The guy I told yo…” “I know,” Trevor interrupted. “Yeah, we left him here, man. Was someone here or Charles and those two came back to check if we were still here?” he looked at Trevor, who was looking even more puzzles. “Don’t you get it?” Trevor nodded his head, “see if those bastards came back then they took the ring as well,” he made his way to the couch. “But if Charles has the ring, we would know it, don’t you think?” Trevor asked, following Sebastian to the couch. “Maybe he is just waiting for a perfect time then strike.” “You might be right. Speaking of perfect timing, I’m also starting to worry about Siobhan, man.” “What about Siobhan?” “He might also strike when I’m not even prepared man.” “These bastards are driving us crazy,” Sebastian said. There was a pregnant pause, then Sebastian got up again. “But why would they take Robert’s body, though?” “Didn’t you say Charles was his stepfather? So maybe he took him to his mother. Who knows, maybe the bastard is not that heartless.” “Maybe he did not die?” Sebastian asked. “Er…. Didn’t you see him take his last breath?” “I did, man. I’m just looking at the possibility.” “Stop blubbering nonsense. With such a stub the man couldn’t have survived.” “You are probably right,” he sighed. ********** “This is where you entered from last time?” Siobhan asked. Mulenga and Alinani nodded. “Step aside,” Siobhan spoke. They stepped aside. Siobhan started waving his wand and lighting sparks appeared, then after a few wand-waving, a portal got created. Mulenga, Alinani, and Amell moved close to Siobhan. “Are we gonna land in the ring?” Alinani asked. “No, when you create a portal, you don’t land in a battleground, not a ring,” he corrected. “We are going to land in the land itself. You landed in the battleground because that is where the frogs were taking you,” Siobhan spoke. “Oh,” both Mulenga and Alinani said. “So here is the plan,” Siobhan squatted and started drawing the plan on the ground. “I and Mulenga will check on the battleground while you,” he pointed at Amell who was grunting under his breath but Siobhan didn’t per attention to that. “You and Alinani will check the prison cells. Then after any of us find Charles, we meet from the place we are going to land. Is that clear?” They nodded in approval. “Alright then shall we.” Siobhan jumped in the portal, then Mulenga, followed by Alinani, and finally Amell. They landed on green, beautiful-looking land. The air was just perfect. There were a few trees around, but more space. They started walking forward, but looking from side to side, just in case. They walked for a few miles then they saw houses well built with sticks God knows how the frogs managed to do that. “Now you two go that side, me and Mulenga are going this side,” Siobhan said. Alinani and Amell nodded and went the other way. They walked for a few miles, then reached a green pool where the frogs were swimming. Crocking with excitement. They moved into the trees and moved around the pool, walking as quiet as they could be. Alinani stepped on the tree and it cracked. The frogs got alarmed and two of them moved to check for the intruders. Alinani and Amell moved in the green rocks and hide there. The two frogs arrived where the two men were. They looked around and saw nothing. ********** Mulenga and Siobhan reached a somewhat training center. Two frogs that were twice their size were training surrounded by other big frogs. Siobhan flicked his wand, and they vanished, but you could see their footprints from where they were passing. “How is this possible,” Mulenga gasped.
