CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

1158 Words
Alinani and Amell came out of hiding after seeing that the frogs have left. They looked at each other and sighed in relief. They walked through the trees in silence and got out only after seeing that the pool was feather behind them. “Walk properly next time,” Amell spoke. “I didn’t do it intentionally, man,” Alinani replied. “Whatever, just be cautious this time.” “Alright.” They took a turn and entered a dark cave. Amell snapped his fingers, fire came out of one finger and the cave was lit. They walked for a few more miles than Amell stepped on what looked like the eggs. They looked around the cave and realized it was filled with eggs. “How the hell are we gonna pass now?” Alinani asked. “Hold on to me,” Amell replied. Alinani moved close to Amell and held his hand. Amell’s wings came out, and they flew through the eggs. After a couple of miles, they saw two huge frogs coming their way with their eyes glowing, which kind of explains why they didn’t see Amell’s fire. Amell flew higher and quickly extinguished the fire on his finger. The surprising part was that the frogs were walking on their two feet. They paused just under Amell and Alinani. Alinani’s breathing increased, but breathed as low as possible. One frog took an egg that seemed not to be in the right position and pressed it the way other eggs were. The frogs seemed to walk properly on the eggs, not even a single c***k made on the eggs they were stepping at. After the frogs passed, they waited for a few more minutes, then Amell lit the place and continued flapping his wings. After a few wing flipping, they got out of the cave and reached houses. Amell’s wings disappeared and moved into the rocks. They walked into the rocks, which were on the other side of the houses. Luckily, the rocks were high enough to cover the two men. After, a few more miles they finally reached the prison cells. They were prison cells because two muscular Costa Rican clown frogs stood at the entrance of the door. “How are we going past them?” Alinani asked. “Dunno. I got us out of that cave. Think of something as well,” Amell answered. Alinani started pacing but made sure the frogs didn’t spot him. *********** Mulenga stopped moving, his eyes fixed on the man sitting on the chair. “Why did you stop moving?” Siobhan whispered. “See that half-man, half frog sitting on the chair?” Siobhan nodded, “he is Charles’s stepson, and we killed him. So I don’t understand why he is here.” Mulenga sighed. Siobhan looked at Mulenga, confused. “But if you killed him, how come he is here? I think you are just imagining things,” Siobhan spoke. “I aren’t imagining anything, man. He is the same guy.” “So presumably you are right, then Charles must be here for sure.” “Yeah, but how did he become that?” “I dunno. Anyway, let’s keep moving before the spell wears off,” Siobhan started moving and Mulenga followed. Their feet appeared, and they hurried into the trees. Then, after they walked for a few miles, their bodies were invisible. “Why didn’t you just cast another vanishing spell, or whatever you call it?” Mulenga asked. “I can feel my wand’s powers diminishing. I need it to be in full power, just in case we get caught,” Siobhan replied, putting his wand in the pocket. After, a few more miles they saw humans carried by the frogs. They stood still to see what was going on. The frogs threw the men in some sort of pool that did not contain water but instead. Slime black and pinkish things, the exact colors of the frogs. The frogs just kept on bringing humans and stopped after the hundredth young boy. They surrounded the pool and started crocking. “What is happening? Why and how did humans find themselves here?” Mulenga asked. “After a few months and see that their number has decreased, the frogs abduct humans and turn them into Costa Rican clown frogs. So presumably they are doing the same thing,” Siobhan said. “But frogs lay so many eggs, though,” Mulenga spoke. “They are not normal frogs, man. They can only lay about five or ten in five years. So started looking for other means to multiply and then discovered this method.” “s**t. How do you know about these things?” “Always study your opponents.” They watched this for over thirty minutes. Then humans started changing to Costa Rican clown frogs. After, five minutes the humans started jumping out of the pool in frog form. ********** Trevor got up. “Man, the sun has already sunk, I think we should head back home,” Trevor spoke. “Yeah,” Sebastian got up. They left the house, went into the car, and drove off. They went to Manda hill mall and packed in the parking lot. Got out of the car in their disguise and went to Shoprite. Sebastian’s phone rang, he took it from his pocket Natasha was calling. “Yes Natasha,” Sebastian spoke. “What is taking you two so long? Our hearts are in our stomachs,” she scolded. “We will be there, don’t worry dear.” “Don’t worry? If I give the phone to Maria, she will kill you with words.” “Please don’t,” he said in a low tone. They kept on talking for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Trevor took the basket and entered shoprite. They picked a few supplies, food, and the like, then they left. Just a few feet from Shoprite someone called Trevor’s name whispery. Trevor and Sebastian turned to see Meghan standing five feet from them. She moved closer to them. “Mr. Trevor, Mr. Sebastian, how are you?” she asked. “We are fine, Meghan,” they replied together. Trevor grabbed Meghan’s hand and took her to the side. “How did you recognize us?” Trevor asked. “Sir, I have been working with you for ages and for Mr. Sebastian I just presumed.” “Good, but before anyone recognizes us, we have to go. I will call you up so you tell me about the café.” “Yes sir. It was nice to see both of you,” and she went away. The men quickly got to their car and drove away.
