He went and sat down, lost in thoughts he heard nothing of what Angel was saying to him. He took a glass of water and drunk it. “Trevor!” she shouted. He looked up, “yes.” “Are you ok?” “Yeah, I’m fine. Where did you say you found those boys?” “They were lying a few miles from where we found you. Why do you ask?” “They have the same birthmark as me,” he sighed. “That’s what I have been telling you,” she pulled a chair and sat close to him. “But I don’t have kids. While I was about to when..” “When what?” “Nothing. I think I might be related to the boys in some way.” “There is a way we can find out,” she grinned. “What?” He regarded her. “I just happen to be blessed with memory stuff,” she said. “What do you mean?” “I ca......” The boys stormed out of the bathroom. Trevor and Angel looked back. “It’s about time,” Angel said. “Come, we have breakfast.” The boys went and sat at the table. Trevor kept his gaze on them. “You didn’t tell me your names, little twins,” she shot them a smile. “Who are you calling little? And we aren’t twins what is wrong with you lady!” Justine said rather rudely. “Sorry, he is having an emotional breakdown. But we aren’t twins, Aunt,” Mutale said, dipping his head. “You three really need this,” she looked from Trevor to the boys. “What are your names?” Trevor asked. “My name is Mutale, and he is Justine,” Mutale replied. “Alright. And you can call me Trevor. How did you find yourself here, if I may ask?” “We were heading somewhere but ended up in this place instead. And you sir?” Justine spoke. “Kind of the same,” a smile crept on his face. “We have all finished eating, right?” Angel asked, getting up. They nodded. “Cool, let us sit of there. So that we clear things up.” She went to the couch, and they followed her. She sat them on the same couch, Trevor in the middle, the boys on the side and she stood. “Hold each other’s hands,” she said in a rather commanding voice. They did just that. She touched Mutale and Justine’s forehead and closed her eyes. The three of them looked at her, then at each other, and closed their eyes as well. She began murmuring something as Trevor and the boys landed on memory lane. “Where the hell are we?” Justine asked. They began looking around, then saw that they were in Lusaka. “We are in Lusaka. Weren’t we sitting on the couch a few seconds ago? And where is auntie?” “Your questions will have to wait. Mr. Trevor, you look like that man standing there with an elegant lady,” Justine said, pointing at a man in blue jeans and a white T-shirt. “That is me. And that girl I can’t seem to remember....” “That’s Aunt Valerie!” the boys shouted. “Wait what?” Trevor asked, looking at the boys. “She was our Aunt,” Mutale replied. “Was is she died?” “Yeah, we never saw her. We just see pictures of her.” The boys lowed their heads. Trevor kneed down and gave them a huge. The only thing he could think of. “Sir, we are losing you,” Justine said. Trevor got up and saw his past self entering the car with Valerie. They tried to stop a car, but they kept on just passing as if they didn’t see them. “How the hell are we gonna follow them now?” Mutale spoke in a low tone. A few seconds they appeared at a hotel. “How the hell did we reach this place?” Justine asked, looking confused. A few minutes later Valerie and the past Trevor arrived at the hotel and went inside. “Why are we here?” Mutale asked, looking at Trevor. “I don’t know, but I think those two do,” Trevor answered, pointing at himself and Valerie. They followed them. The past, Trevor took the keys from the receptionist and took Valerie into room 204. “Oh, no, we aren’t watching s**t,” Justine spoke. “You two remain here I will go,” Trevor spoke and went inside the room. And found his past self and Valerie doing what married couples are supposed to do. After thirty minutes of watching nonsense, he got out. “You did great not to enter the room,” he said. “You enjoyed yourself, didn’t you?” Justine asked. “Kinder.” Two minutes later, they found themselves in the hospital. “What are we doing here?” Mutale spoke, “couldn’t Aunt Angel just tell us what she wants us to see. Instead of this?” “Maybe she wants us to find out on our own,” Justine spoke. After a couple of heartbeats, they spotted Valerie entering the doctor’s office and followed her. After they entered, they found the doctor saying congratulations to Valerie, as he was handing her a piece of paper. “Where is the father?” The doctor asked. “At home,” she said. “Wait, Aunt Valerie has a child?” Justine asked. “I have never seen him or her,” Mulenga replied. They jumped again into memory lane and landed inside Trevor’s house. “This is my house,” Trevor said. “And you are proposing,” Mutale said. Trevor swung around and found his past self kneeling before Maria with a ring in his hands. “You bastard, you cheated on Aunt,” Justine said, punching Trevor in the stomach. “Ouch. I remember nothing about the night I spent with Valerie. I got totally worsted ok?” Trevor spoke. The front door peeled open and Valerie entered, but then she saw the past Trevor and Maria sharing a deep kiss. She got out, closing the door softly. “Oh no,” Trevor said. “You are the dad,” Mutale spoke, looking up at Trevor. Another memory trip and they were at the hospital again in the labor room. This time Mutale and Justine’s mothers were there. Valerie lay on the bed. Mutale and Justine’s mothers holding one baby each. “Please take care of my twins,” Valerie said, tears streaming down. “You are going to be ok, Valerie. Nothing will happen to you,” Mutale’s mother cried. “No sister. Please, just promise me you will take care of them. And under no circumstances should you tell Trevor about this,” she said. “But Va..” Justine’s mother began. “Listen. Protect them like your own. And I will name them after dad. One will be Justine and that one in your hands,” she looked at Mutale’s mother, “he will be Mutale.” Just after saying that, Valerie passed away. Trevor and the boys looked at each other, then there was a flash of light and they were back from memory lane. None of them spoke for several heartbeats. Then. “Are you gonna talk about what you just saw or?” Angel said and left to give them a little family time. Trevor looked from Mutale to Justine, then hugged the boys so hard he nearly cracked their ribs. “You cheated on mom,” Justine said. He got out from Trevor’s huge and went running outside. “Justine!” Trevor got up. “I will talk to him,” Mutale said and went calling for Justine. Trevor sat down, tears streaming down his cheeks. “Told you they are your boys,” Angel said, coming from the kitchen. “How did you do that? Taking us to memory lane?” He asked, turning to look at her. “As I said earlier, I got blessed with that ability,” she went and sat opposite him. “Thanks, if it wasn’t for your crazy memory abilities I wouldn’t have known about the boys.” “Happy to help. And where are they?” “Well, Justine stormed out that I left their mother,” he looked down. “Oh, don’t worry, he will come around.” After, an hour the boys matched inside. Trevor got up from the couch. The boys went and stood a few feet from their father. “Listen, Mr. Trevor, we saw what happened you and auntie I mean mom were both drunk and you did not know your irresponsible behavior resulted in Aunt..... Dammit mom being pregnant,” Mutale spoke. “With that being said, we will consider you our father. But with the idea of staying with a stepmother. They don’t have an excellent record in the market,” Justine said. Trevor was now smiling from ear to ear, and pulled the boys into another hug. Angel’s eyes were getting watery upon seeing the boys sharing a moment. “You gonna break our bones,” Justine wheezed. “Sorry,” he let them go. “And you would have loved Maria, she was very caring,” he looked down. “Was? Is she......died?” Mutale asked. “Yeah, and her death brought me here so to speak.” “I don’t quite get it Mr. I mean, father,” Justine spoke. “Ok, I think we need to sit down so this.” He took the boys, and they sat on the couch. “Have you experienced anything weird ish happen to you? Like you have powers or something like that?” Trevor asked. “Kind of,” Justine spoke. “Don’t freak out,” the boys nodded. Trevor snapped, and a flame of fire was burning on his fingertip. The boys jumped out of the couch. But Angel didn’t seem that surprised at all. “You have powers?” They asked at the same time. “Yes, which means you have them as well.” “What?” “Come here,” Trevor said, and the boys moved to him. “Angel, can you give us some privacy, please?” Trevor asked. “I just took you to memory lane, dumbass,” Angel said. Trevor got up, flexed his shoulders, and his demon wings appeared. The boys gasped. “What are you?” Mutale asked. “I’m half demon and half wizard.” He flexed his shoulders again, and the wings went back in. He went and sat down. “I don’t know what happened when I saw my wife being killed. But whatever I did brought me to this planet.” “And who killed her?” Justine asked. “This wicked wizard and his demon dragon friend.” “Why?” Mulenga asked. “I refused to give them the...oh God, the spell book,” he gasped. He closed his eyes, held up his hands, and a few minutes later the spell book appeared in his hands. The boys’ and Angel’s eyes widened. Trevor opened his eyes, “they were looking for this.” “The spell book?” Justine spoke after examining its cover. “Yeah.” “Then why didn’t you just give them the book?” Mutale asked. “Ok, enough about me. What are you little rascals doing here?” He asked excitedly. “Well, this was not our destination, that is for sure. We were heading to frogsta land,” Justine spoke. “What!” He got up. “What the hell were you thinking?” He scolded in a fatherly tone. “So a few days ago or week. We found ourselves in the restroom at school. In our memory, we were in fifth grade but it happened that we were in tenth grade. And we kept having these memories that they held us as prisoners in frogsta land,” Mutale explained. “So, to my understanding, the Costa Rican clown frogs captured you,” Angel said. “I’m gonna kill those bastards,” Trevor said, eyes burning with rage. “We are ok. So there is no reason to go there anymore. And tell us more about our powers,” Justine said excitedly. “You have to learn how to master them, I will teach you all you have to know. But first, we have to go home,” Trevor spoke. “Yes, please. And since you are a wizard, you can teleport is out of this place or something,” Justine spoke. Trevor held up his hand and his black shine wand appeared in his hands. He gave it a casual flick, but nothing happened. He tried for several hours still nothing, then he gave up and went to sit on the couch. The boys followed him. “We will find our way, dad,” Mutale said. Trevor turned and hugged his son. “Looks like we are stuck in here, right?” Justine spoke. “Well, for a while we will definitely find a way out,” Trevor spoke. ********** “It has been a year ever since Trevor and Maria left us. But it feels like it happened yesterday,” Sebastian said with an eye patch. Apparently, the bastard lost his eye when the blast happened. “Yeah,” Natasha said, holding two babies in her hands. They were at the cemetery, and they kneed on the tombstone that had writings on it. Mr. And Mrs. Mwansa.
