CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

They swung around as they heard footsteps. They stared in silence, their faces expressionless. Three stone creatures came into view. They stood on their two legs, with hands and everything just like humans except that they were built of stones. Amell immediately tapped his demon dragon powers. Siobhan and Charles positioned their feet lightly for quick reaction instead of planting them firmly as one does against one opponent. The stone creatures started running towards them. Amell flew upwards, then came at hyper-speed, slammed into one stone creature. They went flying and crashed into the tree which coughed and spitted some black stuff which was presumably its blood. Siobhan and Charles stared at each other than jumped forwarding their swords for the stone creatures unprotected necks. The two stone creatures whirled, hardly moving out of the way, and their swords stubbed empty air. The stone creature Charles directed immediately formed a fist and sent Charles slamming into a tree. The tree looked at him furiously, then kicked him on the head. He went spinning on the ground and stopped only a few feet from the stone creature. Siobhan was wise enough to drop the sword and began twirling a fist at the stone creature. Which kind of stared at him. Confused. Siobhan’s fist slammed on its head, and the immediate c***k was loud enough to show a broken bone. Amell’s head altered back into human form, “aim for their freaking hearts!” he shouted and his head quickly changed back to demon dragon form. Almost too quick to believe it actually happened. Siobhan and Charles stared at the stone creature’s chests. Then saw blue glowing crystals in form of a heart. Amell took the stone creature he was fighting and flew up. It struggled to free itself from Amell’s grip but failed. Amell spun it in the air, then threw it down. It struck the ground and groaned. Amell picked it up again, his tail ready to strike the creature’s heart. Then it uppercut Amell. He flew and knocked a tree out of its position. The stone creature fighting Siobhan raised its foot, but before it smashed his head, he quickly rolled to the other side. Charles stepped on a rock and jumped as high as he could, then kicked the stone creature with both of his legs. It went trembling back until it fall on its ass. He quickly picked his sword up and stubbed the stone creature’s heart. The other stone creatures whirled to look at their friend as if they felt the same pain. Then Charles took the sword out together with the glowing heart and the stone creature slowly closed its eyes. The two stone creatures cried out after seeing their brother die. Amell saw an opportunity. He flew to the stone creature and stubbed it with his hands. Then immediately jacked the heart out of its chest. The stone creature Siobhan was fighting turned to look at its other brother. Die. Then it turned back to Siobhan again and took his foot. “Oh, no, no, no,” he cried. It spun him around and send the man slamming into a tree. Amell went over and punched the stone creature. It turned, and Charles was ready with his sword and stubbed it. They stared at it for a couple of minutes, then Siobhan came and got the sword out of the stone creature’s chest. “Do anything stupid again and I will roast you up myself,” Amell said, gesturing for them to hand over the hearts. They handed him the hearts with no argument. Amell took the hearts and threw them in his mouth. “You ate that?” Charles asked. “Demons,” was all Siobhan could say. “When are we reaching the place where your food is?” Charles asked, glaring at Amell. “It’s there,” Amell replied. “Apples!” “They look like apples but they are not.” “What are they if not apples?” “You will see for yourself.” After reaching the tree, Amell planked one apple look alike, threw it in his mouth, and sighed in satisfaction. Charles planked one as well, started examining it, then it blinked. He instantly dropped it down. Siobhan and Amell bust out laughing. “What the hell is this?” “Food,” Amell replied. “You call this food? It’s disgusting man.” “Well, you need energy for the fire you breathe outright? So this will give you that energy. Take it or live it,” Siobhan said, crying with laughter. Charles picked the fruit up. He closed his eyes and threw it in his mouth. “There you go,” Amell said. “Now pack some so that we don’t come here anytime soon,” he added. Siobhan took a bag, which he was carrying on his back, and they started putting the fruits in. “So we are gonna go through the same s**t even when going back?” Charles asked. “No. There is a door we can use that will lead us out of hell,” Amell replies, mouth full. “Then why the hell did we go through those things if there is a door to lead us directly here?” “Because it can only be opened from the inside,” Siobhan answered. “We are done, shall we go?” Amell asked. Siobhan and Charles nodded, and they existed hell. ********** “Don’t you think you are going too far?” The woman asked. “I’m not. That bastard Trevor took my customers. And what better way to bring my customers back than to send him in prison,” The man Trevor met at the hospital answered. “But dear killing?” The woman spoke. “I have no choice. Now, are you gonna support me in this or not?” He looked at her, angered by her words. ********** Trevor opened his eyes, looked around, and realized that they slept outside. “Maria.” “mhm.” “Come on, get up,” he said. “Can’t we sleep for just a few more minutes?” she hold on to him tightly. “No. Get up,” he took his phone from his pocket, “it’s eight going to nine.” They got up, entered the bedroom, and went into the bathroom. A few minutes later they came out, Maria tightening up her hair into a ponytail and Trevor busy brushing his teeth. “Are you ok now? I don’t want to see you smoking those things.” “I’m fine, dear,” he went and hugged her behind, “as long as I’m with you, I will be fine. And about smoking you also took a drag,” he grinned. “I was trying to support you. Through thick and thin right,” she swerved to look at him. “Really?” “Yeah, now let me go I have to prepare breakfast.” “Can’t Emma do that?” “No, and you are the one who was saying I should work up. And besides, she can’t make breakfast and clean the house.” “I changed my mind I want you to stay. And Sebastian will help her. Please,” he looked at her with those pope eyes but it didn’t seem to work. “No. I’m going to see you downstairs,” she went out and closed the door behind her. ********* “Good Morning brother-in-law,” Maria said as she reached the sitting room. “Good morning Maria. Hope you are good?” “Fine, thanks, and you?” “I’m fine….,” before he could finish his sentence, his phone rang. He picked it up. Natasha was calling. Maria continued and went to the kitchen. “Morning Emma.” “Morning Maria.” “You have cleaned even the kitchen? What time did you wake up?” “Six hours I think.” “Sorry, I overslept, and you had to do all the work. I will make breakfast you can sit.” “I have already done that, Maria. It’s on the table.” “Seriously? You are making me feel like a terrible wife.” She stared at her and grinned, “in that case, I will sit with Sebastian. And thanks once more,” she got up from the chair and went away. “Natasha relax. Take a deep breath and tell me what is the problem,” Sebastian said. “There two men who have been following me for the past two days now. And fear they might be those werewolf guys,” she spoke with a cracked voice. “Have they followed you up to my house?” “I think so.” “Damn, I feared that would happen. And why didn’t you tell me earlier?” “Protecting you.” “Protecting me from what?” “The police came the day you left. They were looking for you since you are Trevor’s best friend. But I told them the owner moved to a new house.” He didn’t answer for a few seconds, comprehending what he has just heard. “I will be there in a few hours. Do me a favor and lock all the doors and windows, ok?” “Yes, but the police?” “My child’s life is more important now,” he paused for a breath, “see you in a few hours.” Without waiting for a reply, he hangs up the phone.
