CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

1318 Words
“Lets put our hands together for the new fighter,” the man sitting under the ring on a desk announced again. The audience applauded and left a way for Siobhan to pass, but the man stood still. “Well, are you gonna go or they throw you into that fire pit? For the record you won’t burn instantly, you will just feel the pain. It’s the hell fire they talk about,” Amell said, trying to sound supportive. “We came here for you, so see what you do. I’m not fighting that freak without my powers,” Siobhan said. “I will make up a plane in the meantime, go in the ring, and figure out how to use that sword. Wait…..you have a freaking powerful sword what are you worried about?” “Are they not ordinary swords?” Charles asked. “Not really. They have some kind of powers,” Amell replied. The audience started cursing and shouting at Siobhan. “Are you gonna come, or you chose the hell fire?” The man under the ring asked. “Hold up, he is coming,” Amell replied. “I have never used a sword in my life. How the hell will I figure out in seconds?” Siobhan whispered. “Will you just go? He told his making a plane,” Charles replied. Siobhan started walking towards the ring, he stared back but they gestured for him to keep moving. The passageway the audience made slowly closing. Siobhan entered the ring, paused a few feet from the destroyer, trying to look braver than he felt. They started rounding the ring, Siobhan holding tight to his sword. The ship was just looking at Siobhan, ready to dismember him. Siobhan stretched his sword, the destroyer moved and punched Siobhan with his ball-sized first. Siobhan went flying, hit the ropes, and fall flat on his stomach. “Oh s**t,” he said upon seeing the destroyer going towards him. He lifted him, ready to finish Siobhan up. But Siobhan stretched his blade, it went right through the destroyer’s stomach and protruded from the back. The destroyer dropped Siobhan. Siobhan moved and stopped a few feet from the destroyer, smirking at Amell and Charles. Then the destroyer started moving the sword out of his stomach, Siobhan gasped. He looked at Amell in a make your plane now way. The destroyer finally moved the sword out and the wound started healing, repairing every broken bone. Amell punched a man to his left. The man whirled, and Amell pointed at the other man. “Man, why did you punch me?” the man asked. “I didn’t punch you, freak,” the other man replied. They both turned to the ring. This time he beat the one to his left. The man, without even asking, went and punched the man on the left. He went flying and bumped into a weird-looking guy. He got up, the all audience turned. The man went and stood a few feet from the man that punched him. He threw a punch, but the man ducked and punched him in the stomach. He went and slammed another man off, who also knocked another guy off, and chaos filled the room. Amell and Charles went running and took Siobhan from the ring and run into another room. Instead of the room being ordinary like other rooms with walls, it was a forest. “Seriously,” was all Charles could say. ********** Trevor washed his hands and left the dining table, leaving the rest of them eating. He went and sat on a couch. Then his phone rang, he picked it up Meaghan was calling. “Meaghan, how are you?” Trevor asked. “I’m fine, sir. And how are you?” “I’m fine, thank you. How is the business going?” “Bad sir. The police came and shut down the café.” “I feared that would happen and I’m sorry I didn’t communicate to you guys sooner this all s**t happened so fast.” “I get it, sir, and just know that we all support you in this. We know you could never do something like that.” “Thanks, Meaghan. And you are in charge of the café until I prove my innocence, ok?” “Don’t worry sir, your café is in safe hands.” “Thanks once more and good night I gotta go.” “Good night to you too, sir.” And the line went dead. Sebastian came and asked, “who was that?” “Oh, it was Meaghan.” “What did she say about the café?” “They have shut it down, man.” Trevor gestured for Richard to give him a cigar, and without hesitation, Richard handed Trevor one cigarette. He lit it up and took a long drag and smoke came out of his nose. Sebastian gasped, it has been years since he saw Trevor smoke at the University of Zambia to be exact. Maria and Emma came carrying dessert in their hands. They put it on the table for everyone to get their share. “Trevor!” she slapped the cigarette out of Trevor’s hand. “I thought I made it clear when I told you to stop smoking this crap. And you promised.” Minutes ticked by. The only measure that seemed satisfying was making his eyes shut and not pay attention to anyone or anything. “Sebastian, what happened?” Maria asked. “They closed the café,” he replied. Trevor got up and went to his room. Maria got up and followed him. “It must really suck. The man is broken,” Emma said. “Yeah, he worked his enter life for that café,” he got up, “I’m going to bed,” and he left the room. Within a few minutes, Emma got up and followed as well. Maria entered the room Trevor was not inside. She looked at the window and saw him sitting on these beach chairs with a cigar in his left hand. She slid the glass, went and sat beside him. “Trevor, I know it sucks, but it doesn’t mean you should start doing s**t,” she took it from his hand and took a drag herself a smile crept over Trevor’s face. “I want to see you get your ass up and think of a plane.” He twirled, gazed at her, and lay his head on her shoulder. “It’s way past your bedtime aren’t you going to bed?” he asked. “Not really. And besides, look how wonderful the stars are tonight,” she stared at the sky. Slowly they lay on the chair, and before they knew it, they were fast asleep. Luckily the weather was very pleasant that night, not cold, not hot, just perfect. ********** “Welcome to allusion forest,” Amell said. “And what creepy things are in stored for us here?” Charles inquired. “Not much. Just that everything is alive and don’t touch a thing.” Charles nodded in response They started walking, then Siobhan tripped. His sword went flying and hit a rock. They heard a young girls scream. The weird part is that the sound was coming out of the rock. The rock started whirling, grumbling whatever rock language is. It stopped moving and opened its huge eyelids. It started stepping on the ground so hard that cracks formed near it. Pretty much everything opened its eyes, trees, grass, and whatever you would find in a forest that doesn’t talk. “Not again,” Siobhan said.
