CHAPTER NINETEEN

They went and sat down. “How come I didn’t know about the Willow dog?” Sebastian asked. “I thought you knew and anyway, I haven’t visited this place for years. The last time I was here he was just a little dog and look at you now all grown up.” “Emma, let us get food. I think we should cook for Willow as well,” Maria said, and they got up. “Maria,” Trevor called out, Maria turned. “I think there are some dog treats in the kitchen somewhere. You can try to look around.” “Alright, we will.” Trevor kept on playing with Willow, Sebastian was even more puzzled. I think he never thought his friend was a dog person.   After a few minutes, Emma and Maria finished saving food on the dining table. Maria also brought dog treats on a plate and put them aside. “Food is ready, guys,” Maria said. Sebastian, Trevor, and Willow got up and went to the table. Trevor showed Willow where its plate was. The dog was eating so fast like it hasn’t eaten for a while. “So how did Willow know we are here?” Sebastian asked and took a sip from his cup of tea. “He leaves here. My parents found it wandering around when it was just a baby and they took it in. There is a dog door at the back entrance so it uses that when we go. I think someone must have locked it by mistake that is why it’s barking.” “And who gives it food when you are not around?” “My parents left enough treats in the pantry. And they also thought it how to hunt. So it takes care of itself just look how massive it is.” “Trevor, can you call Uncle Richard it’s already eight,” Maria said. Trevor got up and went to call Richard after a few minutes he came back. “Uncle Richard is not in his room.” “What!” they all said together. “Yeah, he is not in his room. I even checked the restroom he is not here.” “Maybe he stepped outside for some fresh air,” Maria suggested. “Maybe I will check outside,” Trevor said, making his way to the door. “I will go with you,” Sebastian got up and followed Trevor. They went outside and Sebastian realized they were more surrounded by trees than houses. Trevor gestured for Sebastian to go left while he went right. They rounded the house and met at the backward still no sign of Richard.   “Let us go to that road maybe he went for a walk,” Trevor said. Sebastian nodded in approval. They went a few miles, yet no sign of Richard. Trevor’s heart started pounding quickly with the thought that his uncle has gone missing, or maybe Siobhan and Amell took him. He started pacing on the road, beating his hands together.   “Where could he have gone?” Sebastian asked. “If I knew, do you think I could be here?” Trevor responded in a somewhat rude tone. “Dude, don’t take it out on me. Let us go, maybe he is home,” Sebastian started going back. And after a few minutes, Trevor followed him. “Is he back?” Sebastian asked as they entered the house. “No,” Maria responded. They let silence hang in the air for a moment. Then the door blew inwards. They swung around and saw Richard entering. They run to him as if they were fans rushing to get an autograph. “Uncle, where have you been? You left telling no one,” Trevor said. “I’m not a kid who needs supervision,” he went past them and sat on a couch. They looked at each other, stunned by his response. They were worried sick, running around to find him. Then he showed up and gave them a stupid answer. They followed him and they all sat. “But uncle, you could have at least told me. What if something happened to you?” Trevor spoke. “You are worrying for no reason at all. I’m an adult and besides, I’m back, aren’t I?” “I know you are an adult, but you are my responsibility now. And we have psychopaths on our tails.”   The three just kept quiet, letting uncle and nephew have bonding time. “You bring me some tea my throat is dry,” Richard pointed at Emma. She got up and went to the kitchen. “Uncle, what is that in your hands?” Maria asked. They looked at Richard’s hand and realized he was holding a pink-ish envelope. “I dunno. I just found it outside,” Richard squawked. “While open it,” Sebastian said. Emma retained with a cup of tea and gave it to Richard. Richard handed the envelope to Maria, she hesitated then opened it. She removed a piece of paper, unfolded it then said, “it’s from Mr. and Mrs. Sinkala.” “Who is Mr. And Mrs. Sinkala?” Sebastian asked. “They are my parents’ friends. What is written on there?” Trevor looked at Maria, somewhat confused? She commenced reading it loud enough for all of them to hear, then finished with a sigh. “An invitation to the anniversary party?” Richard asked, emptying his cup of tea with the last sip. “Sounds like it,” Maria replied. “Do they leave here as well?” Emma asked. “Not really,” Trevor responded. “But how did they know you are here? They should have sent it to your house, not here,” Sebastian said. They allowed silence to break in for a few minutes. Then, “I need to relax after this s**t with Siobhan and Amell. So in short, I’m going to the part,” Richard said.   “He makes a good point, though,” Emma said. “Maybe they sent it at our house but didn’t get a response and sent it here instead,” Maria said. “I guess so. Trevor your thoughts?” Sebastian asked, and they all turned to look at Trevor. “looks like we are going to a part,” Trevor said. But his tone had that bit of uncertainty in it. They did not fully convince the man about this. Richard pulled a cigarette from the pack in his pocket, lit it, and took a long drag. “Uncle, do you mind smoking outside? And I thought you had quite this s**t?” Trevor said with a bit of frustration bled into his voice. Richard got up and went outside. “Oh, and we don’t have food in this house. So I suggest you two find some,” Maria said, looking at Trevor and Sebastian. “What I can’t go into town. You know the police are looking for me.” “You were such a nice boy, how did you become this?” Sebastian asked sarcastically. “Ah, so fun. And don’t forget you are an accomplice, so you are equally in trouble,” Trevor spoke. “Will you two stop your childish behavior and go get some food? You can shadow walk since you have screwed the council and their rules,” Maria said. “Sebastian, lets go man, they don’t want us here,” Trevor said. They got up and exited the room. “Are they always this childish?” Emma asked. “You will get used to it,” Maria spoke. ********** “Are you sure this plan of yours will work?” “Of course it will.” “I hope you are right or else I will be the one to rip you in half,” Charles said.
