CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

1310 Words
After transforming into full Costa Rican clown frogs, Siobhan and Mulenga went to the entrance of the battleground. They entered and sat on the third bench from the front. “What now?” Mulenga asked. “If Charles is here, they will definitely bring him for a fight,” Siobhan replied. “Wait, so if we were in our human form we wouldn’t have been able to understand what the frogs are saying?” “We would. They speak just like us.” “Really? Or you are being sarcastic again?” “Really,” Siobhan said, and looked at the battle ring. Two frogs were fighting. The short frog kicked the tall frog and it fell on its ass. The short frog jumped to land on the tall frog. But the tall frog moved and the shirt frog slammed the ground. The tall frog rounded and kicked the short frog on the head. The short frog went slamming the wall and howled in pain. The tall frog spitted the slimy stuff, but before it could reach the short frog. The short frog held up his hand and the slimy stuff changed direction to return to its sender. The tall frog ducked, and the slimy stuff hit the wall. The audience stood up, cheering for the short frog for doing such an impressive stick. “These bastards have more powers than I thought,” Mulenga spoke. “You are yet to see more,” Siobhan replied. The two frogs in the battle ring ran towards each other. The tall one jumped but the short one slide on the ground and spitted the slimy stuff at the tall frog. The tall frog went flying in the air and fell flat to his stomach, pinned to the ground. The short frog stood up and went to the tall frog. The short frog looked at the tall frog on the ground for a while, then raised its feet and struck the tall frog’s head. The tall frog’s head smashed to pieces, and black blood came out of its head. “Pathetic,” the short frog said. The audience was quiet for a few heartbeats, then stood up clapping and shouting the short frog’s name. The short frog raised its head and smirked at the audience, its hands raised in victory and bowing its head in response. Another frog went into the battle ring and handed the short frog water. It took the two-point-five little container and drank the all water without stopping for a breath. It finished and tree the container on the floor. At the same time, the short frog left the battle ring, another frog came in holding somewhat a microphone. The battleground went quiet, and everyone turned to look at the frog in the battle ring. “Good evening or sorry, good morning, all of you,” the audience laughed, “we are having so much fun that we didn’t even realize it was morning.” He stopped for a breath and went on, “lady frogs and gentle frogs, the fight we have been waiting for which almost all of you bet on is about to start.” “These bastards also do betting?” Mulenga asked, looking at Siobhan. “Yeah,” Siobhan replied, and turned to the frog in the battle ring. “Please bring your hands together for Nigani,” it shouted, its echo vanishing with each second. The audience started clapping and swung, following the light as it moved around the audience, then stopped on a muscular, very tall frog. Nigani jumped out of the audience and did an impressive stance as it landed on the ground. The audience screamed with excitement. Nigani was just bowing its head. “Now bring your hands together for Nigani’s opponent, Enolam,” the frog with a microphone shouted. The light began moving around again, then stopped on Mulenga. The audience swung, looking at Mulenga’s now widened eyes. “I think you are Enolam,” Siobhan whispered for only Mulenga to hear. “I can see that,” Mulenga replied, grinning at the audience. “In that case, the audience is waiting. Kick some ass or the other way round,” Siobhan said, grinning. “Oh, s**t. You are even laughing. Come up with something before that bastard frog kills me and the spell will wear off in less than twenty-five minutes if I’m not mistaken. So if you don’t want to be exposed better you do something about this shit.” Without waiting for a reply, Mulenga jumped and landed on the ground. He almost fell on his ass since he was still not familiar with the body yet. Both Nigani and Mulenga, also known as Enolam, went into the battle ring. The bell rang, and they began moving in circles. ********** “Thanks,” Alinani said, taking Charles from the two men’s hands. “Now let us go before other frogs show up,” a tall, light guy said, handing a pair of trousers to Alinani. “Yeah,” another man said, “you also put on something,” he handed Amell a pair of shorts. “My friend’s minds are gonna be brown when I tell them about this,” a boy with dark long dreads said excitedly. “Hold your son’s mouth if you don’t want your memories to be erased,” Amell said. The mother to the boy kneed and began talking to her son to say nothing about this in a motherly tone only mothers know. The boy nodded, but there was something about his smirking that showed he understood nothing of what she had just said. They began walking forward, but before they could get very far, a man’s voice oozed behind them. “Where do you think you are going?” They swung around in alarm. “Robert!” Alinani said, eyes wider. “Oh, crap,” Charles said. “Yeah, who do you think brought your so-called alpha here. You thought your damn friend killed me, didn’t you?” Alinani opened his mouth but closed it again because he couldn’t come up with anything to say. Amell’s wings came out, fire burning in his eyes. “I’m tired of this s**t. Let us get it over with,” Amell spoke, moving closer to Robert. “Me as well. You made a grave mistake, kid,” Alinani said, giving Charles to two men, “you should keep on moving. There is a pool when you just go straight we will meet you there. Also, make sure no frog sees you.” They started walking, but four men and one girl stood there. “I said you should go,” Alinani said. “We want to help,” a black bald man said. “Man, these bastards have supernatural powers what can you do? Do me a favor and protect your friends. Leave this to us.” They looked at each other than, “cope that,” they said together. “Whatever, just go.” Alinani turned upon seeing that the humans and Charles were out of sight. “I thought you are bad guys. Alinani, why are you helping the humans? You want your demon friend to take them to hell?” Robert asked. Amell groaned and took a step forward, but Alinani stopped him and said, “I’m not a heartless bastard, you stupid child. I and Mulenga are just helping your stepfather because he has helped us a lot.” “Oh, rea…..” “Enough cheap chatting. Let us get this s**t over with,” Amell rudely interrupted.
