The Crooked Line

Episode 1. The journey begins. Members of the Association are congregated. They listen to the two vagabonds and decide to take them on. They decide to go to the farm to take stock and are met with a number of unwanted  problems. It is going to cost a lot more than expected in time and manpower and money to put it straight. However, there is no going back. The police have to be called in to inspect the men's findings.  How are they going to handle this problem. What they find is from the first world war, and perhaps even the Afrikaner wars.  They cannot let the old lady see what they have found. Most elderly women are extremely  superstitious and they see now that they need her and her two vagabond sons on the farm to put things right and plant and begin farming.  They realize however, that the two men who are going to be rehabilitating the old house, know nothing about farming, let alone maintaining the old house. Absolutely nothing has been done to the fields, or the approaching roads.  Because of this, the businessmen's hopes have been shattered as their intention was to turn the old mansion into a holiday resort for travelers, who wanted to stay in an Old South African Mansion, more than a hundred years old. Their hopes were crushed, and the only person who had hope for the place was the old woman, the two vagabonds' mother. Can she pull the place together. The association could only see disaster, but they were in it too far now and had to go forward.
