Chapter 18

Drake POV

I don't know how I'm holding myself from killing Jason right now. I can't stop staring and his hand on her wrist. I need him to let her go before I blow my cover.

I leaned to him and tell him "Hey man, the bartender is keeping an eye on us. If she raises her voice we'll be kicked out and it wouldn't look good for the resistance image". He looks at me and thinks about what I said and thankfully let's Nelly go.

Before she left she glared at Jason then turned to me and gave me the same look. It hurt me a lot. All I ever want to see in her eyes when she looks at me is love not hatred.

She says something to the bartenders then leaves to the back. I need to talk to her. This can but my mission in jeopardy but I can't keep still, all I can think about is the look she gave me. I have to fix this somehow.

I tell them that I'll go the restroom and follow where Nelly went. There's a hallway with few doors, Where could she be. I waited for few minutes then I heard the sound of a door getting unlocked. I went to the door and just pushed my way in. She was startled by me and looked like she was going to scream for help. I put my hand on her mouth to stop her and held both her hands behind her back "She smells amazing!".

Drake:"Shshshsh calm down, I'm not gonna hurt you"

I'm way taller than her so she lifts her head up to see my face. I just get lost in her eyes for a minute. I tell her that I will let her go and raise my hands in surrender sign so she wouldn't be afraid of me.

As soon as I let her go she gives me the same angry glare she gave me before and it breaks my heart even further "She hates me!".

I guess the bond that Steve was talking about was one-sided and she's not feeling anything for me. I feel like an id*ot. This is torture. I first woman I feel something for in years can't stand me.

I just told her that I was checking on her after what happened and she told me off. I don't know what was I expecting I'm a stranger to her.

Then she told me to go run to my master and I lost it. I was not thinking clearly I just grabbed her arm and pulled her to me. I wanted to tell her that I have a reason for being with those criminals and that I'm not that terrible, maybe she could give me a chance and get to know me, maybe the bond would develop from her side if we spend more time together. But I would be putting her in danger. I need to let her go. I need to keep her safe. So I closed my mouth. I looked in her eyes then down to her lips and wanted to taste them so much "Would they taste as delicious as they looked". I shut my eyes closed to stop my thoughts from running wild, apologized to her and ran out of the restroom before I pin her to the wall and taste every inch of her tiny body.

After I left her in the restroom I adjusted the bulge in my pants and took a few deep breaths to calm down and went back to the booth.

Jason was discussing potential recruits in the bar with me. I tried as much as I can to focus on the mission but Nelly was all I could think about. She was ignoring me completely and it was making me more anxious by the minute.

"There's my favorite b*tch in the city" someone shouted so loudly. I looked to the girl and almost had a heart attack "You gotta be kidding me! Can this night get any worse?!".

Lilly & Nelly were talking and I tried to hide myself. If this fireball sees me I'm dead. I need to come up with something I get out of here now.

"YOU BAST*RD"

Sh*t too late.

Lilly charges my way with a confused Nelly hot on her heels. Jason looks at me quizzically.

Drake:"That's the girl who we ruined her gathering today. I'll handle it"

Jason:"Take it outside we don't want a scene"

I nod to him and get up to get to Lilly before she reaches us.

Lilly:"Glad to see you're not running any more you p*ssy"

She is shouting so loudly and I don't know how to get her to come with me outside.

Drake:"Well, I was just stepping outside for a smoke. If you want to talk to me I'll be there. I'm not running"

Nelly:"Wait, You know each other?"

Before Lilly could answer her I cut in.

Drake:"Excuse me ladies. I'm right outside fireball. No running I guess"

I smirk and wink at her. I needed her to get angry and follow me right away. Nelly hates me enough. I don't need Lilly to add to it "Uuugh my life sucks".

Lilly:"Oh no you're not running again, Nelly I'll tell you everything later"

I can hear her footsteps right behind me. I went outside to the alley and made sure no one is around. She came charging at me with crazy eyes.

Lilly:"I'm gonna chop off your balls"

Drake:"Hahahahaha OK fireball calm down and let me speak"

Lilly:"STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!"

I sighed and raked my brains of a way to get out of this situation without risking my mission.

Drake:"Listen, I'm an undercover cop and I have to play along with the resistance to gather the needed evidence on their operations. You can't tell anyone about this or you'll blow my cover"

She stared at me and blinked a couple of times trying to process what I have told her.

Lilly:"Do you think I'm an i***t?!"

Drake:"Look believe it or not, that's up to you but, if you hated the resistance so much and you want them gone you'll not expose me plus if I was one of those thugs you think you'd be still alive right now"

She looked a little scared now realizing she's alone with me in a dark alley. Anything could happen and no one would do anything about it.

Lilly:"Fine, let's say I believe you. Are you really going to arrest the?"

Drake:"I need to get enough evidence and get to the leader first"

Lilly:"I need proof"

Drake:"What?!"

Lilly:"Get me a proof and come to Sally's dinner"

I sighed and told her Ok and we agreed that I'd be meeting her but not at the dinner. She gave me her number and said she'll give me another meeting place.

After she left I went back to the bar and sat beside Jason.

Jason:"How did you shake her off"

Drake:"I told her that I'm an undercover cop"

He was shocked and stared at me with wide eyes then suddenly laughed so loud everyone was looking at us.

Jason:"How did you come up with this?"

Drake:"She's a hothead, she wouldn't have let me go plus if she thought that I'm on the good side she'll give me any info she gets. This way if we have a snitch among us we'll know"

Jason was very impressed and patted me on the back.

Jason:"I knew you'd be a great addition to us. Hahahahaha"

This mission is getting more and more complicated. I need to get this done and fast.
